Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on May 27th.

No, I can spare some time. No one was coming over for an instructional sparring session.

[brainius]

I see. [ She pauses. ] I assume a sparring session of a more advanced nature, given your experience?

[ ...and also: ] I'm ready to resume when you are.

Yes. Though, there are other instructors for Beginners and Intermediate fighters.

[Nodding, Amaterasu turned to the dummy. This will be completely carved up by the time they're done.]

[brainius]

That makes sense. That would allow for the most individuals to learn. It's not an opportunity I would pursue, of course, but others surely will.

[ And... yes. The poor dummy doesn't stand a chance, with what they're going to do to it. ]

[motherofthesun]

Yes. Some people arrive with no prior experience to battle. Still, you don't have to learn how to fight. My co-worker prefers providing first aid.

[There goes an arm.]

[brainius]

First aid. [ Give her a moment, that's worth considering. ] I believe it would be prudent of me to pursue and acquire such skills, given my incapability for physical combat.

[ ...and wow, that arm came off really surprisingly easy. Ghoulia's certainly growing quite accustomed to the swing of things (literally and metaphorically). ]

She holds first aid classes here every morning. You could attend.

[Now it's time for the leg.]

[brainius]

I will definitely remember to do so. I'll drop by after we're finished here, as well.

[ The leg's a bit thicker than the arm was, and though subtle, it's enough to be a bit different. All is well, though. Goodbye, leg. ]

Alright.

[She goes in for the finisher after the leg's gone, intent on splitting the waist.]

[ Oh. She realizes exactly what Amaterasu's about to strike at, the movements for the strike giving her a moment to prepare herself. It's the thickest part of the training dummy, so she's silent for a moment, readying herself for the blow and to do as much damage as possible. ]

[ RIP, Dummy. ]

[motherofthesun]

[Yup. There goes the bottom half after a few precise slices.]

... Well, that's one more that has to be replaced.

[brainius]

[ S'alright, it was just a dummy. ]

That's what they're built for, though. Destroyed dummies means there are capable Weapons and Meisters. So I suppose it's a reassurance to see them well-used.

[motherofthesun]

Well-used and sometimes still in tact. That can symbolize control, but we did want to see the extent of your abilities now.

[brainius]

This is true; It's beneficial to know that as things stand, I'm able to cut through things. [ She can't help a little chuckle. ] Hopefully we won't destroy too many more of the dummies.

[motherofthesun]

I'm sure we'll be careful.

[She chuckles a bit.]

[brainius]

With practice comes perfection, so I'm certain we will be; a little bit at a time.

[ She chuckles in return. ]

[motherofthesun]

Oh yes.

[Off to another dummy which she sits before] Let's try some of that control with this one.

[brainius]

Okay. [ She pauses, hesitantly. Curiously, she tries to specifically think of how to control herself for this. ]

I should focus more on... surface damage, not dismembering, I assume...?

[motherofthesun]

Yes. This will work on your rotation speed. Are you ready?

[brainius]

[ Rotation speed. Less about cleaving through at full power, more about being in control... It shouldn't be too hard; so long as she focuses. ]

I'm ready, yes.

[motherofthesun]

Alright.

[Amaterasu places the chainsaw against the wood. This really isn't about chaining and hacking, but just speeds. Still, she's there when Ghoulia needs her.]

[brainius]

[ And... Slowly, she controls the spin of the blades, revving them between speeds experimentally. It's... actually a lot more challenging than she wants to admit. ]

This takes a lot of focus... [ She'll get it, surely, if she doesn't give up. But for right now she's focusing on trying to keep the slowest spin that still causes damage to the wood of the training dummy. If she can master speeds one at a time, maybe...? She's already got down "spin really really fast" after all. ]

[motherofthesun]

Yes. Still, take your time. Notice how your energy rises and falls.

[brainius]

[ She does, and it's fairly obvious that she's focusing given how silent she is for several long moments. She's going to get this, and at least be able to do it on command. Full mastery would come with continued use, but she had to be able to use it first. ]

[ And with that, she's very careful, minding her energy, minding every little bit of how it feels... and then she's spinning with precise consistency; focused and silent. ]

[motherofthesun]

[Amaterasu lets Ghoulia do this for a while, but then...]

Incoming! [Not really. She's just saying that suddenly to see how well she can remain focused.]
