Morning Training Log!

Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on May 27th.

[ Right. Training. To get better. Her confidence comes back, strong as ever. She can do this. ]

To be prepared for the real thing, yes.

Very good. Now, let's try again.

[Amaterasu allows the chainsaw to rest against the wood again.]

Certainly.

[ Again, then. She has no complaints, and once more she focuses. Be it energy, her internal balance, whatever name you wanted to call it: She's back to keeping a very specific spinning speed. No more failures from her. Or at least, she's determined to prevent them. ]

[motherofthesun]

[Very good...]

[Amaterasu again lets Ghoulia get into it, concentrating and utilizing the energy they can share. THe girl is probably anticipating her interrupting again, but not just yet.]

[brainius]

[ That's entirely right, to be honest. Now that Amaterasu has interrupted her once, she knows it'll be reassuring for both of them to know she can manage to stay focused despite an interruption. ]

[ Of course, she just doesn't know when. But she's certainly ready. Focused, concentrating, and prepared. ]

[motherofthesun]

[Amaterasu notices this and waits a little longer. Everything is going smoothly.]

... Oh, hello Cupid.

[brainius]

[ ...a brilliant distraction, admittedly. But after steeling herself and focusing, she's not going to falter. Truthfully, the presence of a close friend only urges her on to keep her concentration. ]

[ She doesn't spare her attention at all to look around at first, though after a few moments, she offers an amused response. ] ...A clever test.

[motherofthesun]

[She chuckles when Ghoulia manages to keep going.]

Very good. I almost had you.

[ She's much more in control and focused already, that much is clear. She'd just need to keep it up and not forget. ]

You almost did. [ Though why Amaterasu would be greeting Cupid's arrival with a voice to her didn't fit, but the effectiveness of the test was there. ]

[motherofthesun]

Better luck next time definitely.

[She woofed and wagged her tail.]

[ She can't help a little laugh. ] With enough determination, I won't need any luck. Practice will lead to perfection.

[motherofthesun]

Oh yes. Do make sure to tell me when you begin to tire.

[Not that Ghoulia really needs to. Ammy can sense weariness from the bond, but it's part of the test too. Some people push themselves too hard.]

[brainius]

[ ...begin to tire? Oh. That... would make sense, wouldn't it? She hadn't considered that aspect of it, and for a moment she's silent, considering how she feels. ]

[ ...and yeah, there it is. Near the back of her mind, something she hadn't been paying any mind to. She often focused so much on what needed to be done that everything could be set on the backburner. She was definitely one to push herself too hard when there was work to be done, but Amaterasu had pointed it out for a reason. ]

I am able to continue, for now. It would be bad if I were to become too exhausted to continue, however. [ A pause, before appreciatively adds: ] I will be certain to say so; and for the reminder: Thank you.

You're welcome. Working like this, it's important for both Meister and Weapon to look out for their respective partner's condition.

[Definitely do not attempt to hide it from Amaterasu. She'll notice one way or another.]

[ It would be a silly thing to hide, honestly. She'd rather mutually agree to a solution than to simply pass out and be unable to help further. Exhaustion was never an option. ]

Especially when lives are on the line in battle. We only have one chance, one life.

[motherofthesun]

Yes. No amount of belief will bring us back.

[Which is unfortunate. She wants to help this world, but its limitations continue to make it difficult.]

[brainius]

With that in mind, I will be cautious and attentive to both my own conditions and limitations as well as yours.

[ She confirms it, that's her word. She won't go dying on and abandoning Amaterasu, and she's quite certain the same is offered in return. After all, no one would want to go into battle with a fickle partner. ]

[ For a moment, she thoughtfully considers the notion that this could, perhaps, work out in the long run. A partership, was it? A pairing of permanence, in support and battle. Now that the thought has entered her mind, she can't shake it. She could always ask. One day, in the future, perhaps. ]

[motherofthesun]

And you know I plan on doing the same.

[Amaterasu is all for teasing her allies, but dying permanently on them was far out of the question. She had people to get home to anyway, children to check up on, and a prophet who would play riddle me this and that, incurring the wrath of a large tiger if she wasn't there.]

[brainius]

[ Priorities, absolutely. Though she had a single friend from her world here, there were a number back home. Surviving and winning the war came first, safely. ... She's really quite thankful to be on the right side of this war, with allies like Amaterasu. ]

I do. I could not possibly ask for a better ally.
