Description: Sheena and Zaki gives a try to go out for a date.

Yamazaki ran out of his apartment with the still turned on communicator in one hand. He wasn't able to think of small things like locking the door or taking up more appealing clothes. Sheena waited for him in the very building he lived. she was here! And she was ready to go out with him! His heart sang a gloomy song of a soldier leaving his homeland en route to the war and death...It did not fit to the occasion but these kind of songs were Yamazaki's favorites. When he arrived at the third floor he stopped at Sheena's door, took a deep breath, and...took another deep breath...he raised up his hand...and tugged his messy hair...and then he knocked the door very quickly and turned away!

[Now, cut that out. Zaki's brain works fine.]

No... I didn't buy a ring for you. I just want to give you this:

[And she wraps her arms about his neck to pull him closer so she can capture his lips with hers.]

Huh...

[Yamazaki didn't expect of this, so he stiffens for a moment before kisses Sheena back, shyly and confusedly. But he feel good - very good - and after the kiss he just says smartly]

Huh...

[And when he pulls away slightly, Sheena smiles shyly, having come to a sudden realization about Zaki. Leaning close, and with cheeks red, she whispers.]

I love you, Yamazaki Sagaru.

[No, Yamazaki doesn't start dancing and singing in the middle of the street, but he'd like to. And he'd like to fly with sheena, like Superman with that woman who could never beat Sheena in awesomeness, prettiness or in any other thing she tried to beat her.]

["Thank you"? That's an odd response, but maybe she had kept him wondering for too long about how she had felt.

Well, now he knows, so where's the hugging and spinning in circles? Not to mention putting the ring on her finger? :)]

[Huh, why does Sheena look like she'd wait for something? She wants something else...something more. But...]

[She looks like she's waiting for something because she is, but she doesn't say anything--for now.]

Hmmm... How about a walk in the park? I haven't been there for a while.

[But it's worth it, isn't it?]

[She leans up and kisses his cheek before whispering in his ear.]

I know, and I'm sorry it took me so long to say it to you.

[Yamazaki gently squeezes Sheena's hand as a response. Going to the park is a good idea, because...]

You...you'll look even beautiful in the park...that's what I think. It's like a forest or a field would fit you more than the city. because...cause you're like a flower. [Oh, no, what if Sheena would think Yamazaki just said she has as much brain as a potted vegetable?] A...a very smart flower.

[And as they're walking to the park he murmurs on a silent, ashamed voice.]

I...wanted to give a beautiful ring to you, but...I am poor. But don't worry, I'll find another job and one day when you don't even count on it I'll give it to you.

[She stops and stares at him in surprise.]

Zaki, did I tell you I was found in the forest as a baby?

[Because if she hadn't, the fact that he picked up on that is kind of sweet.

She continues on, shaking her head and squeezing his hand.]

I don't need anything expensive, Zaki; the fact that it's from you is just fine. [She does, however, want to let people know she's taken, so maybe a ring she has back at her place switched over will work.]

[Zaki stares back and he looks like he just did something bad. He doesn't remember Sheena said anything about this.]

No, it's just...I often think of trees and forests when I look at you. I hope you don't mind it. [And he asks a bit angrily - angrily at the parents who abandoned their child] And who were those...persons who left them there? Did they it on purpose? Did they want to get rid of you?

[But a shy smile appears on his face as the girl starts to talk about he ring.]

I...I'd like to give you something nice. Is it wrong?

[Sheena squeezes his hand to let him know that she's not mad--merely surprised. At his explanation, her eyebrows raise even higher in surprise.]

Do I really remind you of those things? I-- I didn't know that. [Her cheeks turn pink at what she's considering a compliment from someone who can read her very well. Maybe it's something a ninja shouldn't feel--but to hell with that; it feels nice.

The smile disappears as he continues, her own anger and questions coming to the surface.]

I really don't know, Zaki. I was only a baby when I was found by the Chief of Mizuho. But, I've always wondered the same thing. [She pauses.] They might have known about my abilities, and where I come from, people like me aren't treated very well, so they might have left me near Mizuho on purpose, since it's well-hidden.

[She looks at him with a smile just as shy.]

It's not wrong, Zaki, but anything from you will be nice.

Yes. Being with you is like taking a walk in a forest. It's peaceful and pure...like you, when you're not angry. But I like you even when you're angry. It makes you very pretty.

[Maybe what Sheena feels is not something a ninja should feel, but a pretty young girl engaged to a...Yamazaki definitely should feel this.]

I can't believe they were threatened...or if they were threatened...you were just a baby, weren't you? How could they think you'd harm anyone, I am sure...

[...and Zaki smiles at Sheena with that smile always followed by something odd thought.]

...they went on a picnic and somehow they forgot about you being with them. Maybe a big storm, or something like that...

[He's not the first one to tell her that, but he's the first one she believes.

After a moment of silence, she looks up at him, her expression worried--almost frightened. Well, she may as well tell him.

And things had been going so nicely, but of course, leave it to her to mess things up.]

On my world, people with elven blood are discriminated against. There are even laws against them, so many don't admit to being half-breeds. Since I'm a summoner, it means that I must have some elven blood as well. [She chuckles softly.] While I like some of your ideas, I can't help wondering why they abandoned me. Other parents kept their children, so what was wrong with me?

[What can those elven be? Are they like the aliens invaded his world? But then...]

In the world I lived we didn't like too much the aliens came from other planets, but we had a good reason to do so. They were...kind of guests on our planet, yet they forced us to live by their rules, they looked down on us and despised us for...

[For why, really?]

...for being human. I guess we were treated by aliens the same way you and the other...half-breeds. Forgive me for still not understanding this summoner-thing fully, but...it was not something you used for evil purposes, right? It was just something you had, like...like the color of your eyes. If they blamed you for being a summoner, they were just stupid. And...

[big gasp]

And if your parents left you because you had some elven blood than...I'm sorry, but they were just stupid, too.

[Oh, just wait, there's more...]

That sounds like the elves. See, there were only humans and dwarfs on the planet before the elves came, and they looked down on all of them. Well, maybe not the dwarfs so much since they're pretty skilled at making things the elves liked to use.

[She pauses.]

Of course, there were humans and elves who thought differently, and they had children. Children who were hated by elves because they had "inferior" human blood in them and hated by humans because they had the skills of elves as well as the ability to live much, much longer than humans.

[She looks up at the sky, her smile a bit sad.]

My parents would have also had some sort of elven blood--or at least one of them had. But, other parents kept their children; so why didn't they keep me?

[Ugh, maybe a joke helps Sheena to cheer up...]

Uh...how would it possible to look up to a dwarf? They're short! I...I don't think they, those elves wanted to look down on anyone, they were just too tall to be able to look up on you...

[He can't bear seeing that sad smile of he girl!]

You know if the elves were really like the Amanto, then they were nuts. And maybe your parents were a bit nuts because of their elven blood, and they left you behind because they forgot about having a child. I am sure they did not do it on purpose. I am sure they loved you and went back to look for you when they remembered they forgot you in the forest! Yes.

[He doesn't notice he just said Sheena had some nutsy blood in her veins, too.]

[Raising an eyebrow, Sheena shakes her head.]

Short? I don't think-- [Then realization hits.] Oh! I get it now! I'm sorry, Zaki, it took me a second to realize you were joking. [If he really wanted to see her smile, mention Dwarven Vows around Lloyd; his reaction will make her chuckle.]

Uh, Zaki...[Somehow, she's noticed what he hasn't.] You just said my parents were crazy, which means I may be crazy, too.

[And if he's listening, he may hear a bit of teasing in her voice.]

[Does Sheena like to see Yamazaki blushing? Cause he's blushing now.]

I...huh...no, it's...it was a joke. It was not a good joke, I guess. Next time I'll tell a better one. I'll write down all the jokes I can come up with and you'll pick the ones you like the most, right?

[And when he gets what he said about the girl and her parents his red face turns to white!]

NO, I DIDN'T...You're not crazy at all and your parents were just...carefree, yes. They were not nuts, definitely. But...but...if craziness is what makes you the person you are I really don't mind it. You're adorably crazy...or crazily adorable...or both. Huh...

[What's with the temperature in this apartment, it's unbearably hot!]

[Laughing, Sheena turns and wraps her arms about his neck.]

You don't have to do that, Zaki! Sometimes it takes me a moment to catch on to a joke, that's all.

[And yes, he's very cute when he blushes.]

Zaki! Shhhh!

[She places her fingers gently over his lips.]

It's okay. I was joking. Just a joke.

[Is it hot? Sheena's feeling pretty comfortable right where she is right now.]

[What would she fell if she just realized she called Yamazaki's parents crazy? Yamazaki would admit that his parents were nuts, though...]

But I'm not joking. I don't mind if you're a bit crazy sometimes. It is very...hot.

[Sheena would probably feel bad about it--even after being told he was joking.

Turning to him, she pulls him to her in a gentle embrace.]

Then maybe I should act crazy more often.

Maybe...but if you want to chase me around with a knife, could you run slower than me? My nose is not the prettiest thing in the world but I painfully missed it.

[Smiling, she reaches up and tweaks his nose before kissing it quickly.]

I like your nose, Zaki, so it's pretty safe from a knife attack. Besides, if I was only "acting" crazy, I wouldn't chase you with a knife.

But you could chase me around for the fun and if you can catch me I'll have to accept the punishment from you...

[He laughs when he gets a kiss on his nose and passes it back to Sheena right in that moment.]

It's a funny feeling being kissed on the nose, don't you think so?

Hmmm. That's true. Now, what would be a good punishment for you? [She pretends to mull it over.]

I know! No sweets for you for a month.

[She also chuckles when he kisses her nose, and she wrinkles it in delight.]

Nah, it's not funny. It's nice. It's kind of like bubbles from champagne.
