Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on June 24th.

[Eren is just wandering the area, looking skeptical and maybe just a little worried as his eyes trial from person to person and exercise to exercise.

This is what they call here professional training? But it seems as if everybody's just coming and going and generally doing what they want!

'If this were back home...' He bites down on the thought as he unconsciously brushes a hand over the left pocket of his jacket where the emblem of the Scouting Legion rests over his heart. He hadn't even thought about not wearing his uniform when he had dressed for morning training, but right now he feels decidedly overdressed (and -heated).]

[fujigglephysics]

[Oh hey, it's that one awkward dude she hasn't seen in a while! And Fujino is just about to walk right into him, but she catches herself and immediately stops.]

Good morning...

[And thus she trails off because that uniform, what the heck??]

Um, are you feeling alright?

[everylastone]

[Oh hey, it's the food-woman!

Eren's expression turns into an awkward smile.]

Uh, hello! [Well, this was going well. He sighs, unintentionally scowling just a little again in an unhappy pout.] Uh... I am, I just didn't expect the heat or that you can wear other things than your uniform here while training. [Meaning, no, not really.]

[fujigglephysics]

Oh! Well, just take off your jacket, and you should be fine.

[It's not like anything underneath it would completely cover up everything, right...]

[After an awkward moment of inner debating of whether or not he's okay with doing it - the uniform has become like part of himself - he reluctantly shrugs it off, revealing a rather simple green shirt beneath it.]

Thanks, but that's ...not exactly the point. [He makes it sound as if it's her fault for creating the situation they're now in. Clearing his throat quickly, he asks] So. Have you been here for long?

[fujigglephysics]

[Gosh Eren, how rude!! But no really, she doesn't even notice.]

Not too long? I've been here since the middle of May, so there's still a lot to learn about. Why do you ask?

Because I was wondering if this is the usual state of how things are being handled here or if it's just still the aftermath of that abduction-attack.

[and the rudeness continues]

Hmmm. Well, it was like this when I got here, so it must be a usual thing.

[eyeballs his outfit again]

...are you part of a military service, by any chance?

[everylastone]

[That's exactly what he feared. He grimaces a little before her question makes him stand straighter as he half-salutes before remembering that that isn't really needed or a good idea here.]

I am. I finished my training a couple of weeks ago and am now a proud member of the Scouting Legion.

*slides in here*

[Mizuno has been slowly getting better at her weapon's training. But she still has to take frequent breaks because she's still not used to any sort of rigorous workout.

It's during one of those breaks that she spots something that catches her eye. Specifically, Eren's outfit. She really likes the way it looks.

And so she rushes up to him, a bright smile on her face as she stops in front of him.]

Aaaah! I really like your jacket! It looks so cool! Aren't you hot though? I'm a little hot and I'm just in overalls.

[With that, she giggles.]

*tries to catch before the tackle~* :]

[What the- Eren instinctively takes a step back, half fearing that she would attempt to tackle him like an over-eager puppy otherwise.]

Uh, thanks? [Help? What else is he supposed to say to something like that? It is his standard uniform which admittedly looks neat in his opinion as well but still... Okay, concentrate on answering her question first.]

It is, just a little. [He stares at her for a moment, finally realizing what 'just in overalls' might mean and at the same time getting distracted by her hair color and her foreign features.] Aren't you hot from running around like that?

*snuggles into* ;u;

[Mizuno giggles harder at his response, and holds up a finger, winking at him.]

Only a little bit! It's not really as bad once you get used to it! And I'm used to being this active, I make sure to climb at least one tree a day.

[Nod nod nod nod.]

Oh, I'm Mizuno, by the way! What's your name? [SO FRIENDLY.]

Eren. [He still feels like the victim of an invisible stampede. Persons with such high spirits are rare where he comes from. Despite this he tries to smile.] Eren Jaeger. Sorry for asking, bit are you an Oriental too, Mizuno?

Oh, don't apologize for that, Eren-kun! [Yes, that is what you're being called, sorry Eren.]

I am! Japanese, actually. Why do you ask? [Beam.]

Because of my sister. And it's just Eren, not Erenkun. [He speaks it like Ere-nnkung.]

[innocent_blue]

[But she calls every boy '-kun', uwaaahhhhhh. Oh well, she supposes she can deal with it, though she might forget sometimes.]

You have a sister? [Bright smile.] Me too! She's my twin, and she's my best friend too!

Really? That sounds awesome. Did she look all like you or were you just born at the same time?

[Shinji is, similarly, spending a good deal of his time wandering about the training ground. While he's not unfamiliar with how everything is run, he still feels a bit lost considering he's managed to slip away from the one person who is really gung-ho about getting him to actually do any training. Like, what's he supposed to do now...?

People watching was always a good choice, right? And there's something that catches his eye about the boy who seemed to have failed to dress for the weather. It probably had to do with those patches on his jacket. It's a mild, passing curiosity, certainly nothing too deep, but something he could easily be caught staring from.]

[Eren does indeed feel the attention that's directed at him, his instincts being honed to register such small things (in case the attention you're getting is from a very big and hungry monster).

But there's no place for titans to hide at here, which means that it's most likely going to be just another of the natives or their rag-tag group of helpers.

So he just returns the gaze with a cold calm look of his own, registering that the brat who's looking at him is an oriental as well.]

Eren that's rude

Shinji's senses aren't quite as sharp as Eren's (the angels typically didn't have the same visual cues that you'd get out of titans, and therefore he's not nearly as attuned to those sorts of cues), so it takes him a moment to realize that - oh, shit, he's been noticed. He blinks back in surprise, quickly figuring out that he's sort of been staring, before stammering out a hasty,] A-ah, sorry...!

[Now he can't play it off like he was only shooting the other a passing glance. Way to go, Shinji.]

[everylastone]

[He won't realize till you right out tell him

He inclines his head, giving Shinji a quizzical look.]

What are you apologizing for?

[hedgehogsdilemma]

[A small grimace tugs at the corner of his mouth. Ugh, now he feels even stupider with that question.]

... Staring. [He manages to kind of... mumble out after a moment, his cheeks coloring slightly in embarrassment. Maybe he could salvage a little bit of his self-worth with a topic change.]

A-ah, aren't you a little warm in that, though? [Referring to the jacket, of course.]

[everylastone]

In this? [His hand rises to lie on the emblem of the scouting legion unconsciously as he smiles to himself.]

I am, but it's alright. I'd feel more strange if I wouldn't wear the uniform.

[hedgehogsdilemma]

[Well, at least the other boy doesn't seem to be being too judgmental. That alone is enough to get Shinji to relax a little and slip into a more curious state. Uniform, huh...?]

I see... that makes sense. [A good deal of his awkwardness hasn't cleared up, though, and as much is obvious from the way he inches a little closer to Eren.] Um, what kind of uniform is that, anyway?

[everylastone]

It's the uniform of the scouting legion. [He smiles proudly.] The crest on it is called the Wings of Freedom because we go past the wall in order to engage the monsters who prey upon humanity on their own turf and risk our lives in order to gain crucial information about them.

It's the most dangerous and skilled group within the army. [Dangerous meaning that they have an insanely high death rate.]
