EVENT: And Then the Rain Falls
Characters: Anyone heading to Costa Rica
Location: San Jose, Costa Rica
Rating: PG
Time: September 2nd, all day
Description: The day of the attack arrives...and things are not as they seem.
The attack begins as the sun rises...because the person planning this did love dramatic timing.
Before this, Shibusen had given out information about the Clown's weaknesses and powers, but as the attack begins, it's clear that something isn't quite right.
Red Clowns that should have been nearsighted can suddenly see very well, and the Yellow and Purple Clowns are much stronger than Shibusen's original report. And more than one individual has approached an ally only to be attacked.
And in the midst of all this, there is a figure, more human than the others, in a dress that's half purple and half red...
This is clearly not going to be an easy battle, but all you can do now is fight.
((OOC: Please put, [Character || OPEN/CLOSED] in your subject header! Assume there are local NPCs wandering all over the place. There will also be a separate thread for the event NPC if you want to tag them!))

It was in one of these moments of the Weapon keeping the Meister properly focused that Akiha saw the woman stabbing the civilian. It was a good distraction from her blood lust. Veering toward the woman, falcon-headed staff in hand, Akiha pointed at the woman and yelled at her.]
You! Drop the knife now!

[Considering that everything was color-coded, Sion saw the colors of her dress to be a giant warning sign as to what may be coming.]

minako arisato | open!
Alright, it's time to get to it!
no subject
But he does have his priorities straight. Which is why he knows that right now shits need to get done-- and he's going to be the one to do it if it has to be done. He quickly spots Minako in the crowd, making his way to her side quickly before grabbing her hand with little hesitation.
(Granted, there might be other factors that count in that decision as well by now.) ]
C'mon, let's go! [ He's already seeking out her soul as he slowly transforms to his Weapon form. ]
no subject
But hearing Josuke, Minako smiles at him, confident and sure. Her best friend, her trusted partner, and something a little more. If it's them together now, then things will surely turn out fine. Her soul seeks out his as well, her fist ready as he transforms into that familiar brass knuckle.]
Yeah, let's go kick some ass! [SHE'S SORTA HYPED FOR THIS...]

Amaterasu, Psii, and Ghoulia | Closed
[Just as the clowns turn out not the same as before, the wolf isn't exactly either. Goggles on like the time before, there's a revving over her back as the chainsaw comes on. Change tactics if they wanted to; she was going to fight them off. Her along with Psii and Ghoulia.]
no subject
Energy for blast builds very quickly. Psii thinks can feel goggles glowing.]
Am more than ready.
no subject
These aren't even funny.
[ And the comment is accompanied with another rev of the chainsaw, ready to help rend the clowns apart. ]

L and Light | Closed
"How are you holding up?" he asked Light, tone ragged and winded as he tried to gauge whether his partner was being affected similarly by the clown or if it was only L due to his continued proximity with the creature. Bracing himself for another attack, he transformed again; their resonance, at least, remained solid.
no subject
If that wasn't bad enough, the immediate air was alive with fragments of his own voice, issuing portions of things he'd said to L over the course of the battle and making it nearly impossible to be heard clearly over the silver clowns mimicking him from somewhere nearby.
"Well enough." he answered, keeping his voice low. While winded, he was not getting nearly the brunt of the attacks L was by being sent repeatedly into the fray. "Being in the middle of them like this isn't working...it's too easy for them to surround us."
"Surround us." he heard his voice parrot back at him from somewhere to the right, followed by a dark chuckle as the others seemed to be swarming to do precisely that.
"We need a way to bottleneck them somehow and take them one at a time."

[Genesis and Edgeworth, closed]
That, and there were civilians they had to protect. A total wartime scenario. Knowing where their strengths lie, though, Genesis had directed their pair to go between the clowns and the civilians. Edgeworth's Soul Talk can do a great help for crowd control, while Genesis' reach and ability can make short work of most of the clowns.
They have to be wary of the red clowns, however. They were bound to sap at Genesis' fire.]
no subject
Anyway. Edgeworth stood there, going over what they remembered about the clowns mentally.]
I do hope the civilians remember everything they have learned. This is no ordinary battle.

Lezard and Lily | CLOSED
[It was taking every bit of man-power they could muster. The Clowns were different, they were stronger, and pairs were getting careless. One by one, dozens by dozens, fighters came by the medical tent for treatment with new injuries, most worrisome, and others gibbered with Madness all the while. Running his upper arm over his forehead to mop it up - it was exhausting to treat and then go out to battle, himself - he turned to his makeshift nurse once the staff left carrying the last group of patients, grateful for the assistance. He placed the tools he'd used back on the tray, disposed of more bloodied bandages. Too many damned bloody bandages.]
...Now we have a minute. If we're lucky, of course. Are you well?
no subject
[Lily frowned, discarding a pair of bloodstained gloves. It was as she had feared with the locals joining in the fight. Ill-prepared to take on such enemies, they were becoming a majority among the injured. How many burns had they treated already and how many bloody gashes had they stitched up? She'd lost count. But it was clear those clowns weren't a laughing matter and seemed to have grown even stronger than the last time they encountered them at the abandoned underground lab.]
[And it was less than a minute before a scream could be heard from outside the tent. She held a hand out towards him.]
Dag nab it! Sounds like we're needed outside again.

Rosalia and Count D | Closed
[They had to go back and forth between helping people and securing the tent with small animals fending off Clowns with smoky vestiges of animals. Cats and dogs shifted around, most often waiting until they had to be called off or disappearing in a swipe at which point they infected the enemy. Nothing as potent as the city, but a barrage of animals certainly sped things up.]
[Rosalia couldn't focus on outside right now. Before her was a fresh stitch with disinfectant and she was finishing the bandage. Tying it off, she stepped back and nodded to transport.]
Okay, take him to the mirror, but be careful. [Taking off this set of gloves and putting down her mask before getting the sanitizer, she hoped they remembered enough gloves again.]
Count D? What does it look like outside right now?
no subject
It seems to have quieted for the moment. [He reported unaware of what was going on outside at the other end of the tent. But peering outside again, a new figure with singed clothes came into view.]
...It's that woman with the wavy hair and accent who was helping that other doctor earlier. She appears to have some burns.

[But he stood taller again and stared it down, grip tightening against the gunblade.]
Bastards're faster now, huh...?
no subject
That appears to be the case. The Witch learned from the last few times... Still, we can best them. [She was analyzing them quickly, breaking them down and showing Kanji.] Besides the increase in speed and strength, they're still the same Clowns. You'll want to strike these points.

Mello, Near, Karina and Matt || Closed
Unfortunately, being ready for battle doesn't make it any easier, and neither do the upgrades that the clowns seem to have gotten since their last appearance: they are stronger, without a doubt, and Near is pretty sure that those red clowns can see much better than before...]
We need to be careful about the clowns and Matt and Karina, [he says through their resonance, not liking what he's seen one bit.] There are shape-shifters out there and they're doing a very good job of turning into our allies.
no subject
He's more than ready for the battle, not affected at all by a mere one night without sleep. Someone had to be halfway responsible for the camp's security; the locals sure as hell weren't stepping up. The anticipatory buzz is a good distraction from his worry about Near's reaction to his climbing soul tally, never far from Mello's mind lately.]
You kids ready for the fun? [he asks Matt and Karina, shooting them most of a smirk.]

Kyoko and Mami | Closed | The latest of the late B[
Kyoko herself had dealt with the clowns a couple of times before, so she was prepared to face them down again. Or, at least, that's what she figured. There was definitely something... more fine-tuned about the happenings this time, and that was enough to put Kyoko on her guard more than she had been facing off against the clowns previously.]
Be careful, something's different about these guys.
no subject
You mean besides the fact that they're clowns?
[It was her first time going into battle with Kyoko without being in a huge emotional upheaval, and Mami was more than willing to try bantering with her former kouhai again.]
I'll be sure to take things easy. No point in getting ourselves hurt, is there?
