Location: Training Ground, Shibusen
Rating: PG-13 for violence of the training sort
Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on Friday, August 13th.

[ he's head this tone of voice before, but never from Lee, and never directed at himself. needless to say, when he turns to look at the other shinobi it's quizzical and suspicious. he isn't running (or attacking, for that matter), but if he knew better, he probably would. ]

[ huh.

well.

he unsheathes his katana. he feels out of practice, like he's spent a long time sleeping, and surely fighting a wolf would be more challenging than facing off someone he can read. he holds it one handed, lowers his chin, and points the tip of his own blade at her. ]

Prove it.

[ that has him scowl, it darkens his brow and turns down his mouth and is one of the few true expression he's made since this conversation started. really, the first real expression Saralegui has seen from him, since their previous conversation had been with Sasuke on voice instead of video.

it tells a lot, even though it's subtle: displeasure. discomfort. uncertainty. ]

Is that what this is about?

[ even his tone suggests that this fact was completely off his radar in regards to this battle they've been locked him since he'd switched meisters. ]

Yes.

[ his gaze lingers on the ginger, still. it's likely a bit unnerving, since he doesn't seem to blink very much. ]

Six months ago.

Oh, well, Lee said it was started by his... mentor I think. Yeah, that's right... and this was a way to keep morale high for some people.

[The moment the katana comes out, she's crouched. Shoulders forward, eyes locked and fur somewhat high, she moves, circling. Her lips curl, almost as if to growl, but no sound came out.]

[Darting right, she sharply moves to dash left, circling and coming back right to come in for a direct attack, shield swinging out from over her back and around to return.]

[...you fucking idiot.]

I said it before, didn't I? How am I supposed to believe you actually care when apparently your only priority is my life? For all I can tell, you just didn't want to risk having something to feel guilty about if I died.

[it comes out a bit more heated than he'd like, but then, sasuke's unending denseness is more than a little frustrating. he takes a moment to calm himself before it can escalate again, drawing a slow breath and setting his jaw. it's easier if he tries to think of sasuke as another ruler or something, someone he can't afford to upset. or like his mother.

that one's a bit simpler, really, even if it comes with just as much of an urge to yell. because he knows exactly what he'd like to say to her, if the occasion ever came up again, and the fact that she's a queen herself meant that all such planned dialogues were already made like a diplomat, however much he really would like to just rage at her and get to be childish for once.]

It doesn't matter how good your intentions are, you can't just toss someone aside without explanation and expect them to be fine with it. It's not alright just because you decided it's better this way.

I know. [ the angel offers a sympathetic smile ] Those feelings are the proof that you care for her and that she means much to you.

But you will see her again. there is hope in that. [ hope... well, it WILL happen ] And then, you will have the chance to be happy with her once more and you will have the chance to see her happy once again.

[He pauses, and then starts to laugh.] Well, maybe if I'd known how to use it last time we had some fireworks....

[It's fortunate he has a good sense of humor. What's unfortunate is that she's given him ideas.]

... I guess that's something from your world, isn't it? [ Though at least it makes quite a bit of sense here. ]

What do you do as it?

[Yay hugs! Lee is very grateful to get them as well as happy to hand them out, so he wraps his arms around Rosalia with a great deal of exuberance.]

[Lee took that back. She didn't look less than thrilled. She looked positively blue, no doubt about it. He frowned just a moment, his lips pouting in a short worry for her, but he smiled again and stepped closer.

He might not make her smile, but the least he can do is help Chika feel less alone. Lee hugged her gently, patting her back a few times for good measure. She needed a comforting hug, after all, and not one what was too strong or unyielding.]

[ Chika blinked, stiffening a bit when she felt Lee's arms wrap around her. But well, this is what she wanted, so she couldn't be too shocked or anything like that.

She just... leans in a bit more, taking a few deep breaths as she tries not to cry.

She's really not sure how long that's going to last, but she and Lee didn't really talk much and it was silly to fall apart in his arms like this. Right? ]

Yes. [He makes a grin]

It depends on the Meister's soul really. Each person so far has summoned different weapons formed from soul energy.

[ Okay. She's definitely more curious now than she was before. ]

Really? That sounds like it's really useful. You're meister wouldn't need to learn a whole new type of weapon to use you. [ She holds out her hand to him. ]

Well, I guess we better get started with trying it, shouldn't we?

[ something about the wording strikes a chord in Sasuke, reminds him of Itachi leaving him alive as a boy. he'd learned, in the end, why he did it, but he hadn't known there had been a shred of affection in his brother's heart until it was too late. until, for all intents and purposes, it almost didn't matter anymore. his brow comes down, watching Saralegui not necessarily through a new light, but definitely with a different degree of understanding.

it's not alright just because you decided it's better this way.

there are things about this young king that he doesn't know, because they never spoke about it. but there are secrets shared through a weapon-meister connection, feelings you can't exactly hide.

he feels out of his depth sometimes, when he talks to Sara.

he wishes Kurapika were here.

the thought makes his hand tighten on his katana. he swallows and his chin drops just a fraction. ]

[ because abrasiveness is far easier than what he knows he needs to say, but even though the words are harsh, they don't quite make it so far as to be really mean. ]

[ it's been different for a long time; the there years he'd spent with Orochimaru had taught him to use his sharingan, to rely on them in battle. coming back to the City he'd felt nearly blind, as though he had to work his way from the ground up again. working with Roy, and with China, had helped.

his gaze still follows her movement (but it is harder to read a wolf, he can't watch her expression, not really), but as she comes forward at him his katana arcs around— knocking the shield aside and taking a step back, watching it swing back into position over her back. ]

[it's not much, and he's normally much more ambitious in his dealings with others, but nothing's ever been that easy with sasuke and at least it's something. and this whole process had been so frustrating so far that he'd almost given up on even getting that much.

he wants to be a politician to the end through this, calm and unaffected until he gets what he wants, but his throat tightens at that admission and suddenly he has to glance away just to keep his cool, fingers twisting into the long ends of his tunic in a way he really hopes sasuke doesn't notice.]

Then stop being so stubborn and just apologize.

[In a long black skirt, white tank top and her hair pulled up in a ponytail, the Akiha was easy to spot. Unfortunately, her manner of dress didn't hide the slight scaring on her arms. Normally, she would've hid it, but with as close to being a Three-Star as she was getting, it seemed pointless to deny the toll the war and her hard work has left upon her.

After all, in her opinion, a Meister without at least one scar wasn't trying hard enough. Or was absurdly good and therefore still someone she'd be bitchier to than usual.]

[Akiha raised an eyebrow when Mello showed up.]

And here I wasn't sure if you'd actually motivate yourself to show up considering I don't remember ever seeing you at training before.

Get down before you hurt yourself. That branch is about to break. Can't you see that?

[Politeness went a long way with Akiha.]

I'm going to assume you're here because you've decided you do need help discovering your own ability. So, tell me what all you've done on your own toward that end.

Describe to me what that 'way of life' is. [pause] Without using the word shiny.

Maybe. I can't say until I see their soul.

[He nods and, paw out to Chika, he transforms into the gem before he touches. The weapon itself is teardrop shaped, gem cradled by a gold stand and four bands come up to the point and cap. There are no notable markings on it and the gem itself is white.]
