EVENT: The Great BREW Malfunction Pt 1 [OPEN]

Description: ...something strange is going on here.

At some point, something strange begins to happen. People start randomly disappearing. Sometimes they reappear immediately after and they may not even notice, but sometimes there's a noticeable lag between their disappearance and their reappearance.

Sometimes, they don't even reappear in the same place!

At least it doesn't seem to be dangerous. Unless you disappeared from your kitchen and reappeared at the other end of the city. In which case, you might want to start running.

Either everything sort of points at this being BREW related (after all, if it were Witches, there would be a lot more danger).

Giroro, who basically lived in the park, jumped when someone appeared suddenly. He stopped cleaning the gun in his hands to stare at Johan.

"...where did you come from?"

[Hyoubu was a night owl. Which was good given that he owned a pub. Tonight, though, he left the actual running to his employees and went for a stroll.

He hadn't expected to see a water gun fall down the stairs. Well.

He leaned over to pick it up.]

He considered not saying anything, but that won't help him. And there are worse people he could be found by. Like that subpar comedian. He was pretty sure the idiot would stick him in a cutlery drawer or something.]

[Giroro swears he's just here because he's curious if the maid cafe here were like the ones in Pekopon or not. He just wants to know if it being the Deadly Maid Cafe means the maids carried weapons. That's all! He totally isn't here because he liked the one he went to in Akihabara!

Whatever his reason, he stops at the door and looks around.]

[Aqua liked trying all the foods in Death City. This place she'd passed by a few times when she used to patrol this area, though she'd...never actually tried the food here before. She had been here to fix that.

She blinked at the person who just came in. Well, if that wasn't a face she didn't expect to see here...

Still, Aqua smiled when she greeted her.]

Fine. I hope you do not mind if I put you in my pocket.

[Despite how busy his mind is at the moment, he notices all too well how Amateratsu tucks her communicator away into her fur. There's a curious glint in his eyes as he watches her do that, but Near remains silent, deciding to leave any possible questions for later. Now is not the time to wonder how she uses or carries her communicator.

He rises to his feet after she does the same, but doesn't lean against her for support; he still has his pride, and his ego has suffered enough as it is after him having been brought back by BREW in such a weakened state. Near sways a little on his feet, but holds on fine, and manages to straighten up without much effort. So far so good.]

It may be necessary for you to carry me to Tartarus Terraces in my Weapon form, if the walk there ends up being more than I can take at the moment, [he says, obviously unhappy with his current predicament and also completely unaware that he is now a Meister.]


(ooc: ROFL I bet she’d be able to carry him easily! He’s both short and very thin, so she could carry him without a problem. How big is Ammy, again? /so very canon blind)

[Yes, one of Death City's real mysteries, but not the time to solve it. Not that she would answer any questions right now anyway; he wanted to get back so they were going to get to Tartarus Terraces.]

[She waits, watching him walk forward and frowns slightly. At his pace, there was no way they were going to very soon. He seemed to notice that himself. Er, though, how does she mention that he might not be a Weapon anymore? He didn't exactly transform resting against the tree. She moves closer just so he doesn't try dropping into the form.]

[OOC: She's a little bigger than a normal wolf. If you need to a visual, about... size of a concession stand, able to stare kids right in the face and jump on adults. Besides that, her strength has been slightly nerfed from carrying massive boulders, but she can still carry your average adult male with little difficulty.]

[She gives a nod.] If you're supposed to be a phone, it's definitely not like one I've ever seen. What's a Digivice though?

[Proceeding to look down... And Minako can't help but give a confused smile at what she's seeing. She was just never going to get used to this.]

The spoon, right?

[It's too bad that isn't the case here since Minako would definitely be down with something like that, but that's neither here nor there.]

Don't worry, I'm not a ghost! [a beat] At least I don't think I am... Anyways, just look down for a second! I'm right by your feet.

[[another hesitation. He's trying not to act like a slack jawed idiot, he really is...]] U-- un... I shouldn't be transforming anyway, with my back like it is...

[[Not... that he had the mental capacity to do anything Weapon/Meister related at the moment, to be honest. Yeah. Going off the pain meds. He needed his brain for this, damnit.]]

[Sephiroth felt his eyes slip closed for the briefest of moments as he attempted to quell the desires inside. It wasn't exactly the easiest of tasks, but that single glance from Cloud was enough to begin refocusing his attention away from what he felt within. His partner always provided a welcome distraction and now was no different.]

The city has always been vulnerable.

[It was even at that moment, and continued to be so as long as he remained.]

[The mention of Cloud being a Weapon and he the Meister had his eyes narrowing. It wasn't what the man had said, but more at the fact that they had no control over their actions in the slightest. Sephiroth had grown to loath having the controls lip from his possession after the years of abuse ShinRa had handed him, and he had vowed with himself never to allow it to happen again. It appeared as though he couldn't keep such a vow.

Grunting lightly in dissatisfaction, the sound more at his own thoughts than the conversation, the ex-General's attention diverted elsewhere than towards the conversation.]

"It doesn't particularly matter what you should be doing. The point is, you probably can't, and it woe benefit you to identify your new Meister ability. But later. Do you need help upstairs."

[Takuto is still clattering down the steps. Finally, his poofy feather helps him slide to a stop about halfway down, but his feeling of panic doesn't halt so easily.

And isn't that Sugata's voice? But where is he? And where did Takuto's arms and legs go, anyway? Why can't he just get up off the stairs???]

[Takuto considers this information, and easily decides it's not the strangest thing he's heard from the man. Perhaps Ryuzaki's calm tone helps keep his response simple.]

Well, do you ever sleepwalk? [The easiest explanation for someone waking up elsewhere. Then again, given recent circumstances...] Or maybe BREW moved you.

[At any rate, Takuto intends to help Ryuzaki figure things out, and he'll probably feel better if he can see the man safely home. Death City's convoluted design isn't very friendly to the blind, after all.]

[He was pleased when Sephiroth settled a bit and the effects of the ability eased from pressing on him physically. They were going to be going on that mission to give Sephiroth free reign to get that new ability under some control. He only hoped they didn't end up causing everyone around them break out in black lesions and vomit in the streets just to get there.]

Maybe? I haven't seen any announcements, but it seems reasonable. BREW has always had a thing for making trouble.

[He snorted softly at the mention of witches as he lifted a hand and slapped the flat of it against Sephiroth's chest.] No need to worry about witches. Sephiroth and I can handle them no matter the switching around. I expect you'll get a handle on any new ability once you realize how it is; it's what soldiers do... be the best.

The teen shook his head. "No, I'm not that badly off..." Even in his air-headed and drugged state, he still had taken the stairs. Slowly.

"..I think... I may stop taking these... if I can't tell if what's happening is real or not..."

[L doesn't offer much comment on that. That's been his life lately, with or without drugs.]

Your doctor has a schedule for them, yes? I suggest you follow it.

[It's really kind of sad, what people have come to consider normal for L... and scary, what they've come to consider unusual or strange. It has to be really, really out there to make the cut... or else entirely mundane, the type of thing that most people wouldn't look at twice. Like socks.]

[A large part of this is because he so seldom sleeps that he knows very little of his nocturnal behavior.]

So... it would make more sense, I think, for BREW to have moved me. Especially if it's happened to others... do you know if it has?
