Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on June 24th.

[She's a little surprised to see him. She knows Takuto doesn't wield guns exactly, but everyone could use some accuracy training]

Good morning, Takuto-kun.

[tauborn]

How're things, Naoto?

[He stares down the range towards the target, waiting for a reply from her before he'll raise the weapon and try his first shot.]

[pishirogane]

Things have been going well, thank you for asking. And yourself?

[She's watching him critically as an instructor from how he's holding the gun to his aim.]

[tauborn]

You know me--I'm making trouble wherever I go despite the best of intentions.

[His voice is light, more like he's poking fun at himself than actually depressed about life. He pulls in a deep breath, focuses on the target, and squeezes the trigger as he exhales.]

[pishirogane]

That happens. You want to protect people, but instead, you anger them.

[She's been there and done it before she became friends with people honestly. Watching the shot, she hums] A little to the right.

[tauborn]

[He resists the urge to hold the gun in his other hand, instead just shifting his aim slightly to the right. He fires again before placing the weapon down on the bench and turning to speak to her.]

Pretty much. Sometimes I feel like I just need to get better at thinking. Or maybe just thinking things through.

[pishirogane]

Perhaps you need to live with us for a while. Kanji seems to have improved...

[Her attempt at humor but she's alwaye been rathrr poor at it.]

[tauborn]

[He snorts a little at that. Perhaps she needs to live with him so her humor can improve.]

Um, you don't have to answer if you don't want, but how are things with you and Kanji, anyway? You always seem pretty happy together....

[pishirogane]

[Maybe yeah no... Kanji would muscle into the room.]

... It's been well. We moved to another apartment to better accommodate all of us and we've been going on missions when we can as well.

[tauborn]

... 'all of us?' Who else do you live with?

[pishirogane]

A cat, a crow, and a puppy. Why?

[tauborn]

That's quite a menagerie you've got. When did you get a puppy?

[Though at first he'd thought she'd meant actual people instead of pets.]

[pishirogane]

Well, Kanji got him for me. U-us to be more precise...

[tauborn]

[He presses his lips together in a smile. So. Kanji and Naoto were partners, living together, dating, and now they had a puppy. It seems pretty serious, and he's very happy for them.]

I see. [He sees more than he's letting on. Sometimes couples get a dog first, as kind of a test, before they think about having kids, right? Suddenly Kanji and Naoto seem very very mature in comparison to his own rocky relationship.]

So you've got a new place then, huh? Where are you living now?

[pishirogane]

[Takuto, no. If she knew his thought process currently, that would be far out of any present bounds....]

We moved to the third floor of Tartarus Terrance.

How have things been going between Yako-san and yourself?

[tauborn]

Um... okay. [He's learned a new word recently, and that word is "polyamory." He's not at all sure what to do about it yet, though. He sighs.] I mean, things always seem to either be good or terrible, and they're not terrible right now.

[pishirogane]

[Naoto knows that word. Don't say anything...]

Hmmm... Perhaps you two should try going on a mission together.

[For Naoto, there's nothing like working to bond her and Kanji together a little more.]

[tauborn]

[And now he's starting to blush while he flounders for words.] I... er... um, well, the thing is... we... kind of decided that wouldn't be the best decision....

[Takuto is the kind of person that gets distracted very easily, after all. Kanji had suggested the very same thing, and his attempts at resonance with Yako had made it very clear that they just weren't suited as a meister-weapon pair.]

A-and besides, she's already got Sasha as a partner and they work really well together!

[pishirogane]

... I see.

[That's strange. And somewhat disconcerting.] What have you two been doing then?

[tauborn]

[For a moment he mostly gapes at her. Did she really... really just ask him that?]

Uh...

[No really, how is he supposed to answer this?] N-normal c-couple stuff? And, um, I guess I'm always trying to not make a mess of things.

[pishirogane]

[Yes, she did. Was there really any harm?]

Very well... [What's with that-- oh. Maybe she should get on another subject] So, we can both agree things are going well for both parties at present.

[tauborn]

[There is harm in asking that question! You might end up learning more than you want! Good thing Takuto is properly embarrassed enough for the both of them.]

Right. Things are going well.

[He picks the gun back up, eager to be on another subject.] So you've been going on lots of missions lately, huh?

[pishirogane]

[Good. Don't want to stray down anything too weird.]

Yes, we have. There's only a few more before we reach ninety-nine souls finally.

[tauborn]

[He puts the gun back down in surprise.] Really? That's awesome! So you'll be a Deathscythe soon, then!

[pishirogane]

[She nods]

Yes... twenty more souls should do it before we talk to Shibusen about a Witch.
