Warnings: Potential violence
Summary: The city is in chaos and the Watch is trying to do their job, but it's a little more than they can handle on their own.


The civilians have taken to the streets in a formal march of protest, holding signs both insulting and critical; some simply vulgar while others call for action- for change. They come from everywhere and don't stop until they reach Shibusen's stairs to rally with a growing mob of protesters. Shibusen agents gifted with Calming Wavelength stand by to allow attempts at mediation, but while they aren't violent, the protesters remain unyielding in their convictions.

In other parts of the city, trouble-makers work tirelessly to disrupt or sabotage businesses, paint graffiti over any untouched wall of known guest establishments, and harass the unusual-looking passerby. Don't go out alone, or you might find yourself cornered by these troublemakers with unpredictable temperaments.

The Watch is on the move in every district, working to protect its citizens and try their hand at peacemaking, but they're stretched pretty thin...

He came across the scene during a walk around town - maybe not the wisest thing with how the city currently is, but he won't turn down an opportunity to explore. And a talking katana (or, well, a shouting one) was not something that you came across every day. Considering how this world works, he concludes that the blade is in fact a person, one of those who were weapons.

"That's not really what a katana is normally used for, gentlemen."

Unluckily enough the people Fon met are not gentlemen, but a group of silly mobs. Their leader points at the newly arrived guest's chest with the sword and tells to his pals how lucky they are for having someone here, so they can find out if this screaming sword is as sharp as it looks like.

"No, I don't want to." says the sword. Its voice is kind of apathetic.

It did seem that he was indeed unlucky enough to have met less than civilized men on his first longer stroll in Death City. However, he still smiles pleasantly, not moving from where he stands. "I would much rather solve this without violence." It's not visible how his attention flickers from the man to the katana for a brief moment. It really had to be a human, then.

The sword shivered for a moment and was gripped more firmly as a result. Its holder told to "it" to stay calm or would be broken to pieces. Then poked Fon's chest with it and asked if Fon wanted to pick a fight so badly.

[firelotus]

"How rude." But no, the smile is not fading. "Am I to assume that you are at least half deaf? I did say that I would rather not solve this with violence." Is that so difficult to understand--ah, it seems Hibari Kyouya must have affected him a little. He usually does not simply assume. Least of all rudely. But the poor sword seemed to be less than happy about this, and it was mean to threaten people like that.

It seems like the gentlemen Fon hadd met today were not against violence, at all. The five of them, plus an extremely nerwous sword could easily beat a single stranger, this was how they calculated.

"You know...it would be better if you leave." said the sword and its voice was unsure. "I wouldn't like to cut you."

[firelotus]

"It's alright." his assurance was directed to the sword, and as it seemed as if the men were not relenting, he decided to put a little more attention to calming the sword.

[anpan_tan]

"I don't think so." answered the sword. "These guys want to kill something with me...and I feel sick of the thought."

It spoke silently and the voice was shaky.

"Who are you?"

[firelotus]

He looks over the men again, for a moment. "I doubt that they will manage to kill me, though."

Not that he's immortal or unable to be hurt, but they don't seem too great a threat.

"I'm Fon, Nice to meet you." He turns his gaze to the men again. "And you as well."

Well, it looked like the guys lost their interest in the sword. It was neither female, nor alcoholic. They suddenly remembered that they hadn't drunk their daily beer that day, and it was very urgent for them to get the beer as soon as possible. Their brave leader threw the sword at Fon as they took their leave.

With one motion, Fon caught the hilt and leaned the side of the blade against his arm. "That was not very nice." he said. "Are you alright?"

"You don't think a sword can throw up, do you? I-it must be terrible cut through something living..."

The sword stayed calm for a bit then he continued speaking.

"I'm Yamazaki. And you?"

[firelotus]

"I have never seen a sword throw up before, but if you feel the need to, I would not blame you."

He gives a comforting smile.

"I'm Fon. It is nice to meet you, Yamazaki-san."

[anpan_tan]

"But I bet you don't want a vomiting sword for a Weapon, do you? Do you have any idea what's being like this, changing to this form all the time when someone scares me? Don't you think it's the violation of human rights?"

Yamazaki is a whining type Weapon.

"No, I'm not Yamazaki-san, I'm just Yamazaki. Did you come from a place called Japan, too?"

[firelotus]

"I would not be bothered by it. It is not anything you can be blamed for. Hurting someone with your own body is completely different from doing so with a weapon, after all. It is something one either get used to, or don't." Fon has rarely used weapons in real battles, but even though he's gotten used to killing with his own bare hands, he'd rather avoid conflict. "I'm apparently a Meister, so I'm afraid I don't. However, I'm sure you can practice your control, and to heighten your senses of awareness."

How nice that he's met a very patient type Meister, then.

"Very well." He'll call people the way they want him to. "No. I'm from China. But I have a student who lives in Japan at the moment."

The sword sighed. It was sad and tired of being a Weapon which was meant to cut through flesh and sometimes even walls. It was sickening. Not like the sword had had the chance to cut up even a steak.

"Yes, it would be good to start practicing with little things like branches or card-boxes and when I'm good at it we could try to...ugh, cut down a chicken's head, or something. What do you think about this? How would I be able to learn not to be sick when someone uses me for...what swords are usually used?"

Yes, Yamazaki was glad he has met Fon. He was very patient, saved him from the punks and didn't play with him.

"A student? Is he here or in the world you came from? China is very far from here if I'm not mistaken."

[firelotus]

Not being a sword, but he's ran his hands through more enemies than he could count. He guess that he could say that in a way, his whole body is a weapon, even if he actually knows how to handle real ones.

"I use meditation, to always have a calm mind. In the beginning, I even shut off my mind from it. You just have to take it step by step in a pace that you feel suits you, and to only go onto the next step until you are sure that you are ready."

The reasoning of an experienced teacher. He knows that everyone need their own time to catch up with things, and that it takes different time for everyone to learn something new. That isn't anything that will change just because he has landed in another world.

"I believe that she is in my original world. At least I have yet to meet anyone from my own here."

Yamazaki was kind of a warrior himself, but with arriving to Death City he faced the problem of being a sword with human feelings and senses. He felt ashamed of being unable to be useful for this place due to his own imperfectness and cowardice. He did need an experienced and patient Meister who would lead him through the steps Yamazaki had to take in order to become a real Weapon.

"What do you feel when you kill someone?"

He thought Fon would be a good Meister for him but he was too afraid to put it in words. So he just asked.

"She? Did you have a female student? And weren't you worried of her?"

[firelotus]

He has to think about that for some time. A long time has passed since his first kill, and while he didn't particularly like it, he didn't feel as if he was going to break anymore.

"While it's not exactly pleasant, I'm afraid I stopped having many feelings about it a long time ago. I prefer to solve problems without violence if it's possible."

[anpan_tan]

Lucky Fon. Lucky Meisters.

"But I'm a sword, I can't solve problems without violence if my Meister decided to be violent..."

[firelotus]

Perhaps so. He has not been entertaining the thought of 'what if i had been a weapon instead' but it might be something to think about in the future.

"That is true.." Hmm.. "The best would most likely be if you were able to find a Meister that suits you."

[anpan_tan]

Yamazaki never gave a thought of what can it be like being a Meister. Maybe he'd feel lucky if he would do it.

"I'm looking for a Meister since about March, but somehow I can't resonate well with people. I can't blame them, it must be hard to bear a weapon which can't stop complaining...I am surprised you didn't throw me to the nearest trash bin yet."

The sword chuckles.

[firelotus]

"I see."

That meant that he had either been here
since then, or that he used to have an old partner that wasn't his partner anymore.

But he's surprised at Yamazaki's surprise.

"Why would I? I'm a teacher, so I'm used to it."

Besides, he wasn't a rude person. He hadn't really tried being one but still, he preferred to be civilized and polite. That way, fights could sometimes be avoided.

Fon's conclusion was right, Yamazaki was in Death City since March...well, he had arrived in February, but he spent a lot of time with making himself comfortable with the place.

And Fon made himself more and more likable for Yamazaki with his words and the atmosphere he gave to the place they were.

"Are you used to talking with whining swords? Were there so many talking weapons in your world?"

[firelotus]

A small chuckle escaped him. "No. But a friend of mine has a chameleon that can shape-shift. And I know several illusionists."

However, it would be nice to know the face of the person that he is talking to.

"If you try to settle your mind, and concentrate on turning back to human form, do you believe that you can?"
