[ semi-closed] they just keep trickling in
Characters: New guests and their volunteer helpers
Location: Around Shibusen
Rating: G
Time: April 19-20
Description: Another small BREW hiccup results in another "round" of unexpected newcomers into the city.
Just like last time, a very small group of individuals has appeared within Death City, and just like last time, no one even knew about it. Fortunately things have been relatively calm these past few days and it's an especially warm day today, so at least any impromptu help and touring should go smoothly.
[ooc: Just like last time, this is a consolidated log for the volunteer intro buddy system. Either the new character or the volunteer can start the thread. For each thread, indicate the character names in the subject line. Whether or not another character is pulled in is up to the players, BUT the threads are closed to the initial partnered characters (hence the "semi-closed" label.
The new characters are also free to start a thread with one another if they so wish.]

A-ahh... Yes, actually... [He sounds and looks a little dazed, finding himself feeling a little unused to simply talking with another person.]
no subject
Oh. Good. I'm glad I managed to find you. You guys caught everyone by surprise again.
Is there anyone else still in there, or did they all leave?
no subject
I guess everyone else got out...? [He didn't think there was anyone else left in the chamber, at least.]
no subject
Come on, let's go back real quick to be sure. I'd hate to leave anyone else alone here. First getting here is scary enough even when we're expecting all of you guys and everyone's here to explain things.

Anyway, my name's Chika Daimon. What's your name?
[She's going to start heading over to the Kishin Chamber, motioning for him to follow.]
no subject
What, exactly, is this place anyway...?
no subject
[She smiles as she makes it to the Kishin Chamber, taking a deep breath as she tries to think of the way to say it.]
It's a place called Death City. We're in a completely different world than the ones we came both came from. You've been brought here by a thing called BREW... This place... well, Shibusen are at war with Witches, who seem like they want to end the world.
BREW was accidentally activated with the current Shimigami wished that he'd have the power to stop this war. And well... BREWs form of that power is us.
no subject
So, that means there have been a lot of people pulled in to this, right? [It would only make sense, seeing how prepared that chamber seemed to be for new arrivals.]
no subject
[She moves to peak in, looking inside.]
Hey! Is anyone in there that needs more answers!?
[When she doesn't hear anything, she lets out a sigh and pulls back, turning to face Shinji.]
Okay. It looks like there's no one else left in here. So I guess it's just you I'm going to be explaining everything to today.
no subject
All right, then... [Raising his hand up, he awkwardly scratches the back of his head a bit.] What is there to know about... this place?
no subject
Well, there's actually a lot to learn about. I guess the first thing that should be mentioned is that any special powers that you had back home are gone now. Instead, you either have the ability to turn into a weapon... yes, exactly as it sounds, or to be someone who can wield one. People who can wield Weapon's are called Meisters.
[She pauses, letting that sink in.]
The only thing that's able to fight against the Witches or other monsters called Kishin Eggs that are out there are these people who can turn into Weapons. But in order to do that be effective, they need to have a meister, since the partnership between the two greatly increases the power they each have.
no subject
I... see. [He hesitates for a second before continuing.] How do I found out which one I am?
no subject
[She smiles over at him.]
Don't worry, it doesn't take long to find that out at all.
no subject
[He glances around for a moment, still feeling pretty uneasy.] What other things should I know about this place?
no subject
Well, because we're kinda stuck here against our will, Shibusen... that's the government here, basically, gives us a rent free apartment, food allowance, and some money for clothes. So the only reason you really need to get a job is if you're bored or want some extra spending money.
And despite us being here because BREW thinks we're useful to the war, they're fine with us not fighting in it too.
no subject
Oh, wow. That's actually... pretty considerate, I guess.
no subject
I mean, with the way the whole Meister and Weaponn partnership works, if someone didn't want to fight they probably wouldn't do that well.
[She sighs though.]
That said, even if you don't want to fight, it's probably a good idea to train and find a few people you could partner with. The city's been attacked a couple of times since I got here.
And it's not like any meister can use any weapon here, each person needs to be compatible with each other for it to work.
no subject
That makes sense. [And it wasn't like he wasn't used to large-scale unexpected attacks.] Compatible...? Like, two people have to be able to... synchronize? [Simply a guess, but he couldn't help but wonder.]
no subject
From what I hear, if a Meister and Weapon that aren't compatible try to resonate, the meister won't even be able to lift the weapon. I haven't experienced it myself though... we're starting to think that my Meister Ability might make resonating with weapons easier for me, but we're not completely sure on that.
no subject
So, Meisters have abilities besides just being able to use Weapons? [He seems to be picking up the information slowly but surely, though a lot of it still feels uncomfortably familiar.]

... You know, that's a really good question. It's not something I ever got around to asking about. I mean, I think they do, but I haven't seen one in action myself.
no subject
Hmm...
Oh, what about this thing? [He reached in to his pocket, pulling out the communicator.] They had them in the chamber...
