Description: Another small BREW hiccup results in another "round" of unexpected newcomers into the city.

Just like last time, a very small group of individuals has appeared within Death City, and just like last time, no one even knew about it. Fortunately things have been relatively calm these past few days and it's an especially warm day today, so at least any impromptu help and touring should go smoothly.

[ooc: Just like last time, this is a consolidated log for the volunteer intro buddy system. Either the new character or the volunteer can start the thread. For each thread, indicate the character names in the subject line. Whether or not another character is pulled in is up to the players, BUT the threads are closed to the initial partnered characters (hence the "semi-closed" label.

[Aqua wanted to take a look at the Mission Board today. There were a few people willing to take her own missions, so she wanted to see what was available.

She turned a corner, hearing the sound of footsteps in the other hall, but not really thinking much about it. This was a school, after all. It wouldn't be that strange to find other people here.]

[Said footsteps were accompanied by a chink of armor. However, both stopped when the owner spotted Aqua staring at the mission board. He knew there were people here, but this was the first one he spotted that hadn't been within the dark Chamber before. Perhaps this figure had a better idea of the situation. He wasn't getting any closer to returning home wandering aimlessly around in this... place.]

[Oswald didn't concern himself with pleasantries as he approached. They-- she should be able to hear him]

What is this place?

[Aqua looked up at the question, and towards the direction the voice came from. Her brows furrowed as she considered the person who spoke.]

We're in Shibusen. [She had found it strange the last time when Juudai appeared. But that experienced prepared her for the possibility that BREW could bring in new Guests without warning. Her hands fell to her sides as she turned to face him fully.]

This might sound strange...but where did you just come from?

Shibusen... [That name he did not know. It did at least validate that this wasn't Erion. It just hadn't felt right.]

[The question did sound strange considering he didn't know where he had come from exactly.] ... `twas a dark room in ruins.

[She really should attend class more often. Walking through the halls, she only remembers two places here and the Kishin Chamber shouldn't be one. With a sigh, she's heads back towards the exit in order to go back to the clinic. No more time to waste when she has patients to check on.]

... Huh? [There was someone near the doorway. She hadn't met everyone in Death City, but white hair still wasn't common.]

[he's more than a little fidgety at the moment, his staff still lost and the wind not answering him even right by the door like this, and he keeps arching up onto his toes to get the burned soles of his feet some air, so he doesn't notice rosalia right away. and to be fair, he'd kind of been conditioned to not react to people walking by after 300 years of none of them seeing him.

the questioning sound gets his attention though, and he jerks upright to look her way, glancing around and behind him to check that there was nothing else she might have been distracted by.]

...Uh, can you see me? [maybe she's younger than she looks?]

[This seems like trouble, but she can put on a brave face and help someone out who needs it.]

Yes? Why wouldn't I be able to see you? [She glances around. No one's here. Maybe... she would venture the chance.] ... Are... you new?

It's, uh...it's nothing. [he turns to face her completely and shoves his hands in his pockets, attempting a smile (though the result is shaky, given the situation.] I guess? Where am I exactly? That's probably a good place to start. It feels like a desert...

... Okay. [She wasn't going to pry especially since she has her own secrets]

Well, if you don't know that, then you're definitely new. We're in Nevada right now. Right now, we're at Shibusen, the school in Death City for Meisters and Weapons.

...Nevada.

[and from the view out the window, it's not looking like the mountainy part of the state either, so...shit. an actual desert.]

You're joking. [no, she probably isn't. crap.] Wait, school in... What is this, an Guardian initiation thing or something? And who are you supposed to be, Mother Nature?

I'm not really. I thought it was a joke too when I first came.

[She tilts her head] 'Guardian'? I don't think so... [She waves her hand at the suggestion of being Mother Nature] No, no! My name's Rosalia! I'm one of the Weapons here.

[hey, "rosalia" certainly sounds like a nature-y kind of name, and you do have the whole green hair/pink eyes thing going on, so forgive him if he's looking kind of skeptical right now. staring you down pretty hard, in fact, like he's trying to decide whether he believes any of that.]

"Weapons"? And you're sure this isn't someone's idea of a joke? 'Cause if it is, you have no idea what you're getting yourself into...

[one does not simply start a prank war with the king of pranks, okay.]

[Green? She's pretty sure her hair's white unless she didn't get all the chlorine out. Rosalia nods]

Nope, I'm being serious. I can turn into a ribbon... which isn't much if you think about it, but I can protect my Meister in that form. I can prove it, but could I borrow your arm? I don't want to blow away in the wind again.

[His day couldn't get any worse. He was just leaving his apartment building, freshly-bathed and rid of all the tomatoes people had been throwing at him because of those stupid rumors. Did they seriously think he'd grant -wishes-, much less after pelting him with fruit? Screw 'em.]

[Oh well. He had time to kill now, and he was at least feeling a little better now.]

[well the lighting in that last icon was pretty weird then, but moving on...]

I think you lost me at the "ribbon" part. [and he'd be pretty happy to see any kind of sign that the wind is actually here. but he extends an arm anyway, if a little hesitantly.]

[Atlus and it's lighting can get that way. I mean, back to the conversation]

Oh, right. Here, some people can turn into Weapons and defeat creatures called Kishin eggs. Of course, we're only the most effective when handled by the right Meister.

[She steps forward and concentrates. It takes a moment, but she shifts soon enough, becoming one of her pink ribbons as she wraps around his arm, tying into a bow. Oh, this is a little chilly. Is the AC on?]

[he's nodding along at first, kind of vaguely following but a bit too distracted by his own problems to be fully taking in any of this, but then suddenly the girl disappears and there's a ribbon wrapped around his arm and what.]

What the-!

[he jumps, taking a step backwards that only bumps him into the glass of the window, and his arm is held out like there's a snake around it instead of a pretty pink ribbon.]

[She can't talk to him. What exactly does this mean? Is he a Weapon then or is she not resonating well? Either way, she decides to change back]

Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you.

You... really weren't kidding. Wow.

[super eloquent, yeah. but now he really has no clue what's going on, because he's never heard of any spirits that can turn into objects and that's definitely not a normal human thing, so...]

Pulling a prank on a new arrival wouldn't be right especially since all of this is new and really confusing.

[She smiles, but then realizes] I should take you to the apartments! You'll be able to get your communicator and meet the other Guests! I'll do my best to answer any other questions you have.

[snowman]

Yeah, "new and really confusing" is right! What am I even doing here? And I'm not going anywhere until it gets dark, okay? This place is like my own personal hell, brimstone and all.

[honestly, he's surprised he's not just melting or something. is that even possible? he's never really been forced to expose himself to heat like this before, so who knows?]

All of us were brought here by BREW. They needed help fighting against the Kishin Eggs and Witches. It's a War going on and there was a really big fight here not too long ago.

[She blinks, but nods.] We can wait until sundown... [Though, she looks him over.] It might be a little cooler if you didn't wear a sweater... and why don't you have shoes? [And his pants. Does he need them fixed?]

And what is BREW? [he wants to keep questioning along those lines, but suddenly she's looking at his bare feet like it's strange and he shuffles from one foot to the other self-consciously.]

I've never worn shoes, alright? It wasn't ever really a problem until now. [well, maybe back when he was human, but back then it was more of an issue of being too poor to afford them.] And I don't have anything on under this sweatshirt, so unless you really want me to just start stripping right here...

BREW is... it's this small device thing that grants wishes. All the Guests are part of fulfilling this wish for help ending the war or something like that. Shibusen wasn't expecting it to be like this.

Oh... [She nods, but then turns pink] No, keep your clothes on...! Though, what size do you wear? I could get you a pair of shoes and a shirt and bring them back tonight.

[snowman]

Uh, size? [implying he's ever been sized for shoes before.] I dunno, foot-sized? And you're gonna have to expand on that whole BREW thing a bit more. I mean, what, you're saying I'm stuck in the middle of the desert without my staff because someone wished for it?

[if someone seriously wished for that, then he seriously wishes they'd have a nasty run-in with some nightmares.]
