Description: The "attraction" was quite the hit last time. Who will you find yourself shacked up with now?

The island the Bazaar sits on is certainly big, but who thought they'd be able to fit an entire river on top of it? The line for the ride is just as large as you'd think it'd be, and it's been split in two with a tall screen to prevent people in both sides from seeing the other.

The staffers operating the line don't seem to care about making it grow; they're literally pulling people unlucky enough to wander too close and shoving them in a line before they can protest. You could try to get away, but the rest of the crowd's pushing impatiently forward and before long, you're up.

You might as well just get it over with. Hopefully the company's nice.

[He turns away with a slight huff. It's not fair that Kaworu is so... so unaffected by all this. It's just the two of them, alone in the dark in a boat in the Tunnel of Love, and it's not just nothing.

And then he freezes. Yako. If Yako found out, then...]

Kaworu! [His voice comes out kind of strangled as he turns back to his friend.] Yako's going to murder me!!

What? [yeah that was not what he was expecting to hear.] Why?

I have to tell her that I ended up on this ride with you, and she'll... she'll--you know, think things!

[And it was only hours after their first date and everything had gone so well and he really didn't want her to get mad at him and end things. This must be karma for what happened with Chika....]

...What kind of things?

[actually why do you have to tell her anything. not that he has a problem with telling her anything but why is this a question of necessity...]

[tauborn]

That I--or that we--come on, I just explained what this ride is to you!!

[Don't make him say what he's thinking could happen!! He'll die of embarrassment before he has the chance to be truthful to Yako!]

What if she doesn't believe it was just coincidence! Or that people just shoved me into line before I could get away!

...What does that matter? And why would she not believe you?

[he is obviously missing something here.]

[Kaworu, you can't just say something like "what does that matter" and not expect Takuto to start entertaining the idea that you might be interested. But for now he'll be entertaining the idea of jumping out of the boat and swimming for shore because he'd rather not have to... own up... to a few things....]

...Because I might kind of have a really bad track record where this sort of thing is concerned...?

What, rides of this sort? Why should that matter to her?

[maybe if one of you had bothered to mention that whole dating thing to him he would be able to put the pieces together faster than this. so yeah, this is your own fault bro.]

[tauborn]

No, not the ride! It's because I'm dating her! And fidelity is--it's not really my strong point, okay?

[Cue hanging his head in shame.]

Oh.

[that's all he says for a moment, because really, he had no idea. and the idea that infidelity is also a concern is a bit of a surprise as well.]

...I was not aware.

[tauborn]

Well... now you are.

[And he's not going to look at Kaworu because... he just accidentally implied he could possibly see himself cheating on Yako with him.]

[he didn't really make that connection himself, by to be fair he doesn't associate himself with anything romantic or sexual, not really.]

Is that why you two seemed so awkward before? [oh wait, he was holding yako's hand that whole time, no wonder takuto was giving him such strange looks.]

A-awkward? You mean, me and Yako? W-when?

[He's pretty sure he knows when.]

Earlier today, after the pageant. If you had just wanted some time alone...

[yeah, he feels bad now. and worse because he really liked spending time with yako and he honestly doesn't regret getting to steal her for a while. guilt over not feeling more guilt about it? ugh human emotions can be so overly complex.]

...I am sorry, if I have been causing problems for you two.

[tauborn]

Wh-what? No! You weren't causing any problems!

[Takuto is going to convince himself he's not the jealous type, and that starts by denying anything was wrong at all. And it really is true that Kaworu wasn't doing anything wrong--the boat ride so far was proving that he was innocent and nice enough to not even attempt anything with Yako. None of that stops Takuto from rambling on, of course.] I mean, I had all evening with Yako anyway, and it's not like I don't like her having friends to hang out with. You're fine. Y-you're great, even. Actually, I'm glad she got to spend some time with you. You're having fun at the carnival right? She had fun, and you had fun, right? What sorts of things did you two do?

[that still doesn't sound entirely honest to him, but he can't quite piece out the reason why takuto would have to lie. the words make it seem like he's just trying to spare kaworu's feelings, which is a fairly normal human reaction, but the stuttering and rambling would imply lying, so...he wouldn't really care how he feels? but then why lie at all?

he brushes those suspicions away, though, plastering on a smile. he doesn't want to think his friend is lying to him.]

Most of the normal activities -- or what she said were normal, at least. I would not know which were standard fare without her input.

I take it you've never been to a carnival like this before?

[He finally starts to relax, now that he's not on the spot about Yako or being stuck on this boat ride with Kaworu. Which, to be honest, feels a lot longer when it's Kaworu in the boat and he's not... making out with Yako.]

I have never seen anything even resembling this. But Yako seems to have taken it upon herself to make sure I experience all the "normal" things.

[tauborn]

Did you have an unusual childhood or something?

[You seem normal enough to Takuto.]

[diedforyoursins]

"Unusual" is putting it rather lightly. But yes, I suppose.

[should he just go ahead and tell him? he's told so many of his friends already, it seems a bit mean to leave takuto in the dark. but it's sort of nice to just be someone's ordinary friend, and not their personal angel. he knows it's all well-meant, like how mello seems to have made "angel" into something of a nickname. but still, it's just sort of...distant.]

[tauborn]

Well, Yako's right--you've got to experience all you can while you're young!

[He'll make sure you get the chance to do so, too!]

I do plan on it. This is already my second chance, after all -- I do no intend to waste it

[tauborn]

[He blinks into the darkness, echoing Kaworu's words in confusion.]

Second chance...?

[diedforyoursins]

[he sounds remarkably at ease when he answers. he'd accepted his situation long ago, before that end even came to pass.]

I am already dead, in the world I came from.

[he can at least let takuto in on this much.]

[tauborn]

[Takuto is not calm about this at all. He startles so hard at the words that the boat starts rocking and he's grabbing Kaworu's hand before he can think of any words to say.]
