[OPEN] Love Shack

Characters: OPEN
Location: Nocturne Bazaar
Rating: Gen… Maybe. Don't do anything you wouldn't tell your mother about!
Time: April 3rd, April 4th
Description: The "attraction" was quite the hit last time. Who will you find yourself shacked up with now?

The island the Bazaar sits on is certainly big, but who thought they'd be able to fit an entire river on top of it? The line for the ride is just as large as you'd think it'd be, and it's been split in two with a tall screen to prevent people in both sides from seeing the other.

The staffers operating the line don't seem to care about making it grow; they're literally pulling people unlucky enough to wander too close and shoving them in a line before they can protest. You could try to get away, but the rest of the crowd's pushing impatiently forward and before long, you're up.

You might as well just get it over with. Hopefully the company's nice.

((ooc; this log takes place over both the first day and the second day. please use the subject line indicator [ NAME | DATE | OPEN/CLOSED ] and keep in mind that during the second day, characters will likely be under the effects of growing madness!))

[THE DISCIPLE | APRIL 3 | CLOSED]

[personal profile] scribes 2012-10-27 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Disciple had been a little startled when she and Signless had been randomly grabbed and shoved into the line for this ride. It was only after asking the people behind her that she found out what it even was. Really, had she known she would have stepped into line of her own choice. She was more than happy to go on such a ride with Signless.

Yet the longer the line got, and the longer she went without being able to see him over the screen the more worried she became that perhaps they would not end up together. People seemed to be switching spots in line and getting a little rowdy and it would, needless to say, be incredibly disappointing and awkward to end up with a stranger.

She let out a small and displeased 'murr' as she drew closer to the end of the line, before it was finally her turn to step forward. She looked to her side, hoping that they hadn't been unaligned.

As if he would permit such a thing to happen. Weaving crowds was a simple matter. Even Disciple should have known that the Signless would reach her, even if parted, by the time it was her turn. His fingers touched her arm, right before tucking it into his own. He flashed a bit of a grin.

"I couldn't leave such a fine lady without a proper escort."

Her expression was one of relief and delight when he found her and she held onto his arm. He could be such a goof, but that was one of the things she loved about him. It was difficult not to chuckle a little but she tried to withhold. Her voice had been steadily improving with the continued therapy sessions at Horrorspital but she wanted to surprise Signless with her progress. It would be a perfect opportunity to do so during the ride.

"What a gentleman you are. I am so lucky to have been matched with someone so chivalrous as you."

She looked at the boat that had come into dock just for them. It was small, but comfortable looking. Disciple only hope that it was steady, she'd rather not end up taking a swim today. Especially considering she couldn't swim very well. At all.

[personal profile] sermonize 2012-10-27 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, he was a dork. That was true. It did not seem like she minded all that much, so there was hardly a reason to be ashamed for it. Besides... Disciple barely had room to judge, right? In fact, their entire group was kind of silly, when one really thought about it. Perhaps that was why the young ones were a little "weirded out" by them. Just a bit. However, Signless still didn't care. He had no one to impress, after all. The only one that mattered was right next to him.

Taking a dip was not high on his list of things to do either. Signless wasn't exactly adept at the art himself. Thus he still held onto her hand, as if to help her climb into the boat and keep steady at the same time. Thankfully they had been on such things before.

"Careful. Wouldn't want the princess to suddenly turn into a catfish."
scribes: (if you could)

[personal profile] scribes 2012-10-27 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
She most definitely had no place to judge, not that she ever would even if she did.

"No, we wouldn't want that. She would make for a very poor catfish." A poor catfish indeed. You would think that after all the time they sailed around on the first ship, or all her time spent in the wild she would have picked up on how to swim but alas. That was not the case.

Fortunately there were no incidents as they climbed onto the boat, and she was quick to sit down on the plush cushion provided for them. She wasted no time in cuddling up to him, and then the boat was moving forward.

"Oh... Now that I don't know. There is this human myth about creatures that are half human and half fish," he mused, giving her a look over. "I'm sure you would look very attractive with a set of fins and naught but seashells or your long tresses to cover what remains."

The Signless gave a bit of a smirk at that, a tiny quirk of a lip. Something like that was either going to earn him a blush or a swat. It would make for a nice fantasy later anyway. Right now the focus was on the boat ride, yes? Well then, attention to this ride he would give. The Signless wrapped an arm around his lady, cloak now draping over her as well.

[personal profile] scribes 2012-10-27 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
That got him both.

She knows he was likely aiming to make her blush so she tries not to but it's hard to keep the color from rising to her cheeks after a comment like that.

"You're lucky I don't toss you overboard." She said this even as she drew closer, enjoying the warmth that he and his cloak brought.

He laughed, not at all bothered by what she said or by the light slap. The reaction he got was the desired one, after all. Now the tunnel was a little dark, not that it really mattered all that much. This was supposed to be an atmosphere thing, correct? Signless didn't read up on all the activities normally associated with a carnival. There was simply too much. The only reason he was even here was because Di had requested.

Now, though? Now wasn't too bad at all. What more could one want other than having their significant other all huddled close. "I'm far too cute for you to even consider such a thing."

[personal profile] scribes 2012-10-27 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
The darkness was comforting, to be honest. There was enough light so that she could still see Signless, but not so much that it hurt her eyes. Disciple had been in Death City long enough that she had become accustomed to having a more diurnal sleeping pattern. She no longer needed her parasol, but she still preferred the cool darkness to the bright light of the sun.

She slipped her arm out of his so that she could wrap it around his waist and lean against him, resting her head on his shoulder, and being mindful of her horns. They could be such a bother at times.

"Truth enough. Cute can't save you from everything though. Fortunately for you, you have other defenses."

If he had to admit to enjoying something about the daylight... It would be the sunsets and sunrises. They were wondrous things to behold. To be able to see them so clearly and how each one was slightly different was nothing short of miraculous. The Signless was the type to wake up early just so that he would catch a glimpse of it, as silly as that was.

He kept his arm around her. If he had the ability, he would have rested his head upon hers, but that would have been a touch awkward. Oh the times that he wished that horns were not a part of troll anatomy. Instead his fingers would just have to knead at her shoulder a bit. "Like a furrocious huntress at my side? Or are you speaking about my warmth?"

[Dag nab it! Were all these carnival people so pushy?!]

[Lily was not in the best of moods. After the beauty pageant (which she hadn’t really wanted to enter in the first place), she found that the vintage 1950s sundress she had meant to change back into for shopping had somehow disappeared. So, she was stuck in her far more delicate silk pageant gown. She had been contemplating returning to her apartment to change into something more practical when an overzealous carnival employee had shoved her into this cotton-pickin’ line.]

[So, there’s a somewhat grumpy 31 year old witch in the Tunnel of Love line. This is going to be awkward…]

[ Oh God, how did he get caught into this messed up place. The line for the Love Shack was huge, stretching back farther than he could see. And honestly, he didn't even mean to join it. There was a push, a shove, and suddenly, he found himself in the line, with no room to get out. Sigh...

Well, it was his first time at an amusement park. They didn't exactly have them back home. And so far, the night had been great! Until he and Ange kinda lost each other...it really wasn't as fun on your own. But as long as she was alright, that was fine by him. Maybe going on a ride or two on his own wouldn't be bad. He touched the screen to his left, before moving forward with the line.

Still? Love Shack? That didn't sound shady as hell at all.

[ Ange couldn't do anything but grumble, really. Ugh, she had really been dragged into the line for this stupid ride involving.. something with love, even? What was that supposed to be all about, it was nothing short of ridiculous.

Not to mention that the line was so long and it made it really cramped in here and she didn't really like that either, she much rather would've still been walking around the carnival now instead of standing here in line for some really stupid ride. But not like she could help anything about it, right? At least it was pretty much almost her turn in line now.. but there were people stepping into the boats from the other side of the screen too, right? Would she have to sit in one of those with a stranger?!

This couldn't possibly get any worse. ]

[ For a long line, it sure was moving pretty fast. Yuri could already spot where he had been only a few minutes ago. The entrance was coming up, as was the end of the screen. Looked like they paired people off for this...ride. If you could call it that. He sighed. Only a few more steps...

The screen ended. And he shot a lazy gaze to his side, to see who his partner wa--

[ .. Huh. That voice was pretty familiar, almost as if it was-- ]

Yuri? [ She raised an eyebrow, apparently that was her form of surprise. She had lost him in the crowds earlier, but now he just suddenly was right there? .. Man, this was a really weird coincidence, and she wasn't sure what to think of it at all, but then again.. it was better than getting stuck with a stranger, right? ]

So this is where you went off to? [ not like it was his fault or anything that they got seperated, but still.. ]
second_star: (Oh come on~)

[personal profile] second_star 2012-10-27 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I could ask you the same thing, Ange. Didn't know you liked this sort of ride. [ He chuckled. Honestly, he was a little relieved to see her here. The carnival wasn't as fun on your own. ]

That was mean of you to just leave me back there like that. I missed you.
entreats: (what would it be?)

[ There were about a thousand things in just that which she could protest at. And she was about to do so, honestly, it was just that she didn't even know where to start. Besides, what was that last line about, a joke like that was just.. cruel..!! ]

Oh yeah, I go on these all the time. [ The deadpan was strong in her voice, almost slightly annoyed too. ] Besides, I was under the impression that you were the one who left me back there. You know, like how parents leave their kids to play in the ball pit while they shop.

The tunnel really was quite atmospheric. It gave them a privacy that they couldn't have even at home. Disciple was very happy to have Sollux living with them, but it made it so even there they had to be a bit discreet, less they scar the poor kid.

Here, with nothing but the sound of moving water and the muted sound of the carnival beyond the walls she felt freer.

"That along with numerous other things about you. Like your smile, and your wit, and your humor. I could go on but I'm certain if I began I would be going on for quite some time."

She tilted her head so she could nuzzle his cheek and seek out his ear. Speaking with still incredibly difficult for her, and her tongue felt so cumbersome in her mouth but she had made enough progress that she could at least say this.

"Love you...Kankri." And without a moment of hesitation, she followed that up with pulling his face towards hers for a kiss. A bit of revenge? Perhaps.

It seems like a lot of people in this line don't really want to be here. This is not the case for one resident Death Scythe, who's very eager to see what kind of people he could get paired up with here! He knows it could wind up absolutely horrible and terrifying, but it could also wind up being wonderful. He's willing to take the chance today! Because he doesn't know any better.

[ Saya and Sendo are enjoying the time on the island together. She likes her partner's company a lot and considering everything, being near him is a good thing to do (just in case something bad happened. Though she hopes it doesn't.)

They were passing by a line when all of sudden they were pushed into it. Saya complains - loud, of course - but it seems there is no way out of it]

Sheena wasn't too thrilled to be grabbed, and it wasn't until after her defenses kicked in and she landed a few punches and kicks that she realized what was going on. They were just doing their jobs, and as an apology, she went ahead in line without further protest, but with a very embarrassed expression.

Sighing inwardly, she hoped that she'd at least have fun on this.

{Yako had discretely eyed the Tunnel of Love when she had first seen it, but she hadn't even entertained the thought of actually asking Takuto to go on it. It seemed so...cheesy for lack of a better word, especially on their first date.

The staffers are neither aware of that fact nor would they care if they did know, so the new couple gets shunted into the line when they wander too close.}

[well, can't let takuto go too long without and awkward situation, right? in this case not too long after his date with his actual girlfriend.

kaworu's still at the carnival even as it's getting late, enjoying the lack of sun and the way everything was lit up in the dark. he's hard to bother even at his lowest of points, so when a very overly eager ride staffer drags him into a line he just smiles and lets it happen. everything else has been enjoyable so far, and he's already change back into his more comfortable pants and hoodie so whatever this is a line for, he doesn't really mind.]

I don't think I'm responsible enough to be a parent yet, Ange. [ He just laughed, though. Well, this ride wouldn't be so bad if it was with her. A total stranger would have just made it more awkward, after all. ]

It was nice to relax. Signless would never fully grow accustomed to being free of those that would want him dead, even if temporary. This little "vacation," even after being in Death City for two months now, was still fresh and new. He doubted that he would ever fully drop his guard, to refrain from looking over his shoulder. While peace, or something similar to it, abounded here, there were just some things that would not change.

Though being in a tunnel like this, with her slightly cooler body tucked next to his... Well it just was easier to forget everything else existed. Poor Sollux, indeed.

The nuzzle was welcomed and he chuckled at her hand gestures. Di was completely biased, but the Signless wasn't about to correct her. In fact, he was about to press a kiss to her cheek and perhaps make an off hand comment when he heard that raspy voice. Speaking certainly was a struggle for her, he could tell. Yet just hearing it, somewhat damaged or rough? He was glad for the kiss, for he might have just initiated one himself. So instead he returned it, wrapping his arms around her tight. If she was not going to allow him to speak before going in for the kill, then he might as well show his overwhelmed feelings like this.
