Description: Every morning in the city, Morning Training takes place to prepare the guests of the city for the war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on March 14th.

"The fact that I resonated better with you than with anyone else and all you do it remind me of things I don't want to have to remember!" Bakura exclaimed, frustration clear in his voice. "With everything you put me though, with how much I hate you, there should be no reason for it to have worked at all, and for it to have and to have worked like that...! And don't try and put it on you having been a parasite in me before because that makes no sense!"

He couldn't help but smirk at his landlord's distress.

"Oh, but the opposite is the case." His voice was almost a purr as he cruelly pointed out the fallacies in Ryou's logic, gesturing widely as he did. "Why the hell do you think I've become that attached to you that I even used myself as a shield to protect you from Osiris's wrath? It's certainly not because you're the only one I can use."

He wagged his finger in his face, smirking shark-like as he leaned close. "It's because our compatibility rate is just that damn high that I'd say the gods destined you for me if I would believe in them."

"That-- what..." Bakura stammered, taking a step back, his eyes wide. Shielded him from-- but---

The memory hit like a ton of bricks. Biting winds, Yuugi standing across from him, a giant red dragon hovering as the blood poured down his arm...

And then blissful darkness as the sound of that laughter filled his ears...

The Voice had done that...? Pulled him back into the darkness so that it would stop-- but... but he had been-- that...

He laughed cruelly at the look of disbelief and shock on the other one's face.

"AHAHAhaha~!! Forgot that again, didn't you?! After all that guy didn't hesitate even a second to blast us away head-on!"

"It shows in what high regards your little hero holds you, oh landlord of mine. I went out of my ways to help your friends but the Pharaoh won't hesitate to tear your heart out and shatter your soul if he thinks that it's the 'right' thing to do. I almost pity you!"

"That-- That isn't how it is at all!" Bakura protested, glare returning as he tensed.

"Oh? And how is it then?" He kept pushing, the mockery clear in his voice.

[shiromadoushi]

"I shattered my own soul to keep you from killing everyone, and if you were going against him, of course he was going to defeat you no matter what the cost to me! He has Yuugi-kun to protect!"

"Does he? I don't remember lil' Yuugi's life being ever on the line during Battle City unless the few times it happened because of the Pharaoh wanting to win the Egyptian God Cards so badly!

Him protecting him means as much as me protecting you in the grand scheme of things!"

"Why did you even get us involved in it?" Bakura's tone was tense, eyes half hidden behind his hair. "I went to support Yuugi, why did I wind up with a Duel Disc and in the semifinals?! What was protecting me by putting me in that tournament?!"

His face turned into a scowl at the memory of it. All he had wanted were the Millennium Items and the key to the secret, yet he had been drawn into this mess as well.

"Believe it or not, I and the Pharaoh were after the same thing."

[shiromadoushi]

Bakura hesitated. "You said you were after the Items..."

"That too, but not this time." He had been positive that he could have taken all but the puzzle at any time he wanted to until Malik had showed up.

"I'm talking about the Pharaoh's past."

[shiromadoushi]

Bakura blinked. "...What would you want with the other Yuugi-kun's memories...?"

"Wouldn't you like to know that~. Sadly, the answer to that question is p.r.i.v.a.t.e oh dear host of mine."

[shiromadoushi]

Bakura scowled, bristling. "If you're endangering my body I have a right to know!"

"Which I didn't do, so there you go."

He smiled and drew back, ready to go. "Did you really think I'll tell you all my secrets just because you finally decided to ask?"

[shiromadoushi]

"How is putting me where I got blasted by a God not endangering me?!" Bakura demanded. "None of that or anything would have happened if you hadn't hijacked me in the middle of Battle City!"

He laughed haughtily, waving the complaints off with his hand.

"Would you rather have been tortured by Malik and his ghouls and later be used against your friends? I wasn't the only extra-mind you kept carrying around during that time." Poor Ryou, he was really the perfect possession victim. Never mind the not so small role he had played himself in the development of things.

Bakura stared, eyes wide. The second voice... that had been real...? Not just--

His hands moved to the side of his head as if somehow, that would help keep out someone who was no longer there, his shoulders hunching in. "You couldn't even keep him out?" His voice was more shaken than angry. It was bad enough having been taken over by this jerk, to find out that a second person had been in his head...

He shrugged his shoulders, pretending to be not fazed about it at all. His voice was pointedly nonchalant.

"He's an idiot, but not that bad as company." Besides the thing where they had kept bickering like kids on a school yard all the time they weren't busy dueling or haggling over deals with each other. "At least not when compared to his other self."

[shiromadoushi]

How the hell could that jerk be so nonchalant about something like that?! "You let him stay in my head for something like that?! I didn't even want you in there, why--!!"

He broke off as the tension made his left hand spasm and he clutched at it to try and stop it from hurting.

He rolled his eyes. As if he'd put up with something like that just for company!

"Oh please! You wouldn't even notice if I celebrated a tea party with all the monsters in your deck up there!"

"How could I when you shut me out of my own mind!" Bakura returned, anger starting to build again. It was a pretty exhausting cycle, like a small, intense roller coaster though emotions he really wasn't used to. "That doesn't excuse the fact that you let someone else in my head you jerk!"

He turned back to him and sized him up with a nasty, amused look.

"How could I even do that?"
