[OPEN] Earthquake Event

It's early in the morning -- just after morning training -- when the ground beneath Death City shakes violently in what most of you might recognize as an earthquake. It's not a particularly huge one for the more experienced of the guests, but it sends cracks shooting through the cobblestoned ground of Death City and up the sides of some buildings. A small handful of structures, mostly those that have been abandoned in the course of this war or the very old ones, take the most damage and topple over or crumble at their foundations.

The earthquake lasts no more than half a minute, but the vibrations and aftershocks last through the day. Death City's streets become full of holes, from those the size of apples to what could be described as deep ditches. The greatest damage, however, is the commercial sector, which becomes flooded as the waterways take damage and spill water into the streets. Shibusen's alarms blare out and quick, urgent orders to fix the waterways and search for the injured or anyone trapped in rubble filter in through all networks.

[And as much as Minato wouldn't mind that, he doesn't want to put her through more pain than is absolutely necessary.]

When your arm is better, you can take off the rest for me. But now... [He hangs the sweater over his shoulder and takes her hand. He saw this in a movie once...] 90 degree angle...

[BFJHGBHFDBGDHBH] Pervert! [she'd have tried to kick him, but then he takes her hand and Saya's eyes widen]

W-wait a moment!! [that was going to hurt!!]

[Ignoring that plea.] Twist towards the torso... then outward and...

I said wait, aren't you listening?! Let me get ready!! [mentally, she needs to prepare herself mentally for the pain]

[There's a pause. He leans in... to listen? No. He speaks softly by her ear.] You know... You're really pretty.

[sayatakagi]

[Blinks]

What?! [why the hell is he even saying that NOW of all the times?!] What's wrong with you?!

[AND PUSH.

Hope you were distracted, pretty-girl-san.]

[She was, but when she feels the sharp pain hitting full force, Saya screams and with that she start crying.

Because that really hurt.

Though, there is no way in hell she will be obvious about it, so the girl turns her head away and tries to wipe her tears so Minato won't see them]

Sorry... [He's still cupping that shoulder joint, just in case he didn't do it right. If he had his other arm handy, he'd put the sweater over her head, but he doesn't. Instead he very politely avoids witnessing her unwanted moment of weakness.]

[She sniffs a bit and shakes her head]

It’s fine. Thank you. [Saya pulls her glasses away to wipe her tears better and finally she turns to Minato, while she moves her shoulder a bit. It was still sore and aching and hurting, but she could move it now]

It could have been worse.

[He smiles broadly at her.] I could have been lying about you being pretty?

[And she blushes again, quickly grabbing her sweater after. Tsundere alert.]

Shut up! [she dresses her sweater again and look, boobs bouncing]

Are you a guest?

[A small part of him was hoping to keep that sweater...]

Was this an attack? [Saya looks around. She never experienced a Witch Attack, so she wouldn't know how those usually went]

... At the idea that this could be an attack, he also looks around. Other than the disarray and cracks everywhere, everything looks normal.]

The last attack I remember... frogs were eating my food. Then they tried to eat me and everyone else. [No frogs, but] Are you a Weapon?

[that wasn’t good. Flesh eating frogs. At least it wasn’t zombies, that was what was going through her mind that moment.

At the question she nods] I am. I turned into my weapon form, that’s why the shelf only hit my shoulder.

[He gives her an impressed look.] You have good reactions... Are you from the feudal era, Takagi-san?

[she shakes her head] No, I’m not. I’m from 2011. [she caresses her shoulder a bit] It’s just a survival mechanism. [you escape zombies with good reflexes, after all.]

[Huh. He didn't remember so many strong Japanese people when he was alive.

He glances at her shoulder, although really, he glances at all of her when she does that.] You're still going to want that looked at. Were you going somewhere?

[Saya nods] My partner, but. [Saya reaches for her communicator, to check on it] No reply yet.

I’m sure he’s fine. [She is secretly worried about him, but she doesn't know where he is right no, so it's no use]

[Haha, that's a funny face. Must be a good partnership.]

I'm sure he is. Mine is at the hospital... Do you want to go that way?

[sayatakagi]

[with a lot of bitching and screaming and tsundere attitude]

Hm... I need to check on my shoulder and he might be there. [She puts her communicator back in her pocket] But everyone will be heading there and it'll be a mess. If this was just an earthquake it's not as worrisome, but if it's something else... [there will be panic, and too many people in the same place leads to even more panic and everything gets ugly]

...If it's something else... [He's checking over his shoulder for frogs. But it wouldn't be frogs this time. Frogs was only once. There was also a giant Kishin Egg from his world before and a big bout of Madness.]

If it's something else, you're a Weapon and I'm a Meister. [He almost puts his hand on her raw shoulder, hover it there, then opts instead to touch her arm gently.] We'll handle it.

[Aha, that's right. This wasn't undead people trying to eat them not yet, at least. Besides, undead can't really cause a whole city to shake like that, and there was no explosion that would justify it either.

If it was something else, it'd be the witches and it was her job to fight them. Sort of.

Saya nods softly]

Yes, you are right. Let's go, then.

[Okay. Hospital's this way. Avoid the rubble and knocked over trashcans. Since they're still in a Guest neighbourhood, it seems pretty empty. People at training, most likely.]
