Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on Friday, August 21st.

.. Yeah. All the time. [ There's plenty of people he misses, anyway - both from back home and people who left this place. It's like they're in a bind no matter what, huh?

So instead of lingering on that, he instead moves on to her next question, to which he brightens a whole lot. ]

And she's doing cool! Since you've talked to her, you must already know what she's like.. it's like that girl never gives up at anything! [ He laughs. Josuke wouldn't have it any other way, really, it's what he likes about her. ]

[She smiles.] That's good to hear. I take it you two have been practicing together? How's the training going? [Josuke seemed to like protecting folks, kind of like her, so it seemed a logical conclusion.]

It's okay so far. I mean, we work together just fine, but it sort of sucks that I'm the Weapon instead of her. [ Nothing against Minako's strength or anything, but.. well, she's just a teenage girl and Josuke is a teenage bara. ]

Sometimes I'm just itchin' to throw out some punches to those things, y'know?

[ Yes, Josuke, what a great thing to tell adults.. ]

I guess that might have worked out better if Minako's not that used to fighting. [It did kind of make sense in terms of physical strength. Still, she has to raise an eyebrow at the rest.]

But you don't actually try to punch demons on your own, do you? That would be reckless!

Demons generally aren't critters you can fight by normal means. And I'd worry about you getting hurt if you tried to take one on alone. [Your boss doesn't want you to end up in the clinic, Josuke!]

[ Sorry, we're talking about the guy who generally just storms in and punches things, he's not used to this whole "caution" thing! Usually not even when it involves other people.. ]

I'm pretty strong though! Seriously, if BREW didn't take our powers away, I could take on those suckers easily. I would've punched them straight off the planet!

Powers? You mean you had some kind of strange ability back home? [She doesn't recall him ever mentioning it before and had always just assumed he was a normal teenager.]

Super strength or something like that? [Magical punching powers just sounds a bit too silly...]

Something like that. [ He doesn't mind talking as much about his powers here, since.. well, he doesn't have them to begin with and he won't be dealing with any of these people when he goes home and it does matter again. It makes the whole matter of keeping Stands a secret less important. ]

I guess it's enough to say that people sure felt it when I punched 'em back there!

Huh. Was this kind of thing considered normal where you came from? [Or was it considered as freakish as her own powers back home?] I mean, you'd never mentioned anything about that before.

.. Uh... depends on what you call "normal". [ Rubbing the back of his head for a moment as he thinks of how to put this. ]

I mean, it's not like everyone had one or everyone even knew about it, but thanks to some circumstances there were a lot of people in Morioh who could do that kinda stuff.

Well, I meant whether normal folks who can't do that kind of thing would consider it freaky.

Was it a genetic thing then? [Kind of like how she was born a witch...] And rare outside of your hometown?

People got it after being stabbed by an arrow, as weird as hell as it sounds. [ Nothing in Josuke's world is quite normal though, so of course there'd be a weird explanation like that behind it. ]

But mine's genetic, yeah. My dad has one too, and so does my.. [ .. my nephew sounds weird when Jotaro is both older than him and he looks up to him, so.. ] .. so does Jotaro-san.

Huh. But it's not everyone in your family, is it? Sort of like how some folks might resemble their grandparents instead of their parents. What did y'all do with these abilities anyway? [She wonders if there's a market for that kind of thing like how some witches removed curses for a fee...]

Yeah, that kinda arrow. Not like there's any other kinds, right.. [ But yeah, it's weird all the same to see, Lily. Don't worry, he freaked out too when he saw one of his best friends being stabbed by an arrow.. ] And since there were so many people shot with 'em who wanted to use them for evil, I went around town beating those fuckers up with my own Stand. I guess that's sorta what I used it for?

Well, it was pretty useful too to fix shit up with when I broke something so mom wouldn't notice. [ Because in the end, Josuke's just a typical teenager, really. Just a really weirdly muscled one. ]

But just where were these arrows coming from exactly? Were they being shot by some deranged version of Cupid? It doesn't sound like they were too picky about who they were shooting either if that many folks wanted to use them for evil. [And then she got a mental image of Josuke going around his hometown, beating up delinquents with a music stand.] ...Your stand?

You could fix stuff by punching it? [And that didn't really seem to make sense either...]

Our powers are called Stands. I guess they're kinda like guardian spirits since people without Stands can't see 'em, but they all look different and have different powers. Mine's called Crazy Diamond and aside from being tough as shit, it helps me fix stuff if I punch it. [ If it's still weird after that, that's honestly just his universe's fault. ]

I dunno what's up with the arrows exactly, but apparently being stabbed with one activates people's Stands if they have the potential for one. Some good for nothing evil guys got their hands on one and they went 'round town randomly stabbing people just to create more trouble, yeah. [ sigh. ] It was a pain in the ass..

Guardian spirits... I guess I can imagine that a little better. [She wonders if it's kind of like her helping spirit back home. Although she still has no idea what its identity is.] But that certainly sounds like a ...um, unique way of fixing stuff.

So being stabbed by the arrow is just a catalyst and doesn't necessarily mean you'll gain the ability? [Maybe, it was hereditary but took more for it to come out in those cases?] Did things turn out okay in the end? They're not still going around, stabbing more people, are they?

'course they did, who the hell do you think I am? [ He grins widely. A little proudly too, maybe, but in the end he's just glad that the town he loves so much was safe again. ]

I punched the living shit outta them, I'm not just going to let anyone walk around hurting innocent people!

[Lily shakes her head a bit but can't help chuckling at his grin. She generally prefers less forceful means but knows sometimes a little hexing is needed. She assumes the same goes for punching.]

Well, I'm glad things turned out okay at least. [A nod and then she moves on from the topic.]

I've got a mission today so I left a list of errands for you at the shop. Mostly picking things up and sorting some laundry. Think you can take care of it?

Hell yeah, leave it to me! [ At least he sure isn't lacking in the enthusiasm department.. ]
