Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on Friday, August 21st.

That seems to be how it's been going so far. [A few more slices of the orange first, and then Kyoko stretches a little and offers her hand out toward Mami.]

[Oh nooo, Mami is still in the middle of eating her orange slices, and she doesn't know where to put it so... INTO HER MOUTH WITH THE REMAINING SLICES oh man her mouth is so full now...

She makes some rather indistinct noises of agreement as she grabs onto Kyoko's hand and nods vigorously, trying to indicate that she's ready.]

[Pbfft Mami-san what a loser.

Kyoko lets out a short laugh as the blonde shoves the orange slices in her mouth, before shifting fluidly into her weapon form. Soon enough, the long spear sits comfortably in Mami's hand, and Kyoko's soul makes itself present for resonance.]

[Oh nooo, did the kouhai laugh at meeee? ;A;

Still trying to chew her way through the pulp in her mouth, Mami tightens her grip on the spear, hefting it up to rest gently on her shoulder as the strange presence of Kyoko's soul presents itself.

Closing her eyes, Mami concentrates on trying to meet Kyoko's soul with her own, feeling them touch... and wow, that's so odd... She wonders if she's doing this right, hnnnngh.]

[It's probably for the better that Mami makes the first contact here, as Kyoko seems... a little standoffish about it. It was different from working with other Meisters, this one was someone she knew, and had been close with prior to arriving in the city. Someone she had very purposefully betrayed.

Someone who was willing to work with her despite that.

After a few moments of hesitation, Kyoko shakes off her apprehensions, surging forward with the resonance with perhaps a little more gusto than intended. Her soul is very firey, and intense. The connection definitely lacked grace but made up for that with raw enthusiasm.]

Everything feel okay with you?

[Mami lets out a soft gasp at the sudden rush of contact, and then laughs quietly, tightening her grip on the spear that is Kyoko.]

Mm! It feels fine! Though you're so overzealous, you almost caused your old senpai a heart attack from shock~

[Mami may feel a light, superficial ripple of displeasure from Kyoko's soul at the comment, but the emotion is fleeting. She shakes it off easily enough.]

Sorry. [The apology is curt, but somehow sincere.] If you want, we can head over to the training grounds to practice.

[Damn, apparently joking around is taboo with Kyoko right now. ;A; That won't stop Mami from doing it though, sorry.]

That sounds like a really good idea. I don't seem to be having any problems talking to you at least... is that a good sign?

[Time to start heading to the training grounds yep.]

[Kyoko will get used to it. It's an adjustment that she wasn't expecting, is all.]

It's not strained or echo-y or anything, so I can only assume it's a good thing. [She has yet to encounter a bad resonance yet, though. The closest would have been with Chika, and that wasn't so much a poor connection as it was a lot of emotions from the Meister mucking up the wavelength.]

Well, then it's perfect! I'm glad this seems to be functioning properly.

[At the training grounds, she glances around before focusing in on some targets.]

Shall we get to work, then?

[Mami should be able to feel Kyoko's soul fire itself up in anticipation for practicing some blows to the targets, as well as receive some clear signals on how to properly hold and wield her weapon form.]

[At the instructions, Mami alters her grip on Kyoko slightly, running almost casually up to the target and slicing at it, managing to strike a pose after it takes the brunt of a hit.]

Ah! I see why you like your spear so much...!

[Is that a little wisp of smoke coming from the target where it was hit? Huh! Imagine that.]

It's kind of boring to be practicing on a stationary target, though. [She doesn't exactly sound or feel too bored, though.] If we had something to go up against that was fighting back, I'm sure it would be more exciting.

[Letting out a soft giggle, Mami turns gracefully and swings at the target again, hitting it once more.]

It's probably better that we start here though. I'm used to long range, after all.

Makes sense, I guess. [It really wouldn't do them any favors to get into something above their skill level right away, after all.]

[After a jump back, Mami surges forward to stab Kyoko into the target again, nearly piercing the thing through in her vehemence.]

I think we killed it, Sakura-san...

[On top of the strike, there's that sizzling smoke again.]

Looks like it... [And then there's a gentle spark of satisfaction in the wavelength from Kyoko.] Good work!

[Watching the smoke rise, Mami jerks Kyoko out of the target, spinning her around and then leaning slightly on one hip.]

...Sakura-san, are you... burning the target?

[Kyoko takes a moment to asses the state of the target and... hm... well then.]

Looks like it.[Weapons are supposed to be able to do unique things the way Meisters can, after all, so it doesn't come as a terribly big surprise.]

Somehow... that does seem to fit very well with your fiery personality.

A flat feeling of unamusement corses through the wavelength there, but at least Kyoko isn't getting overtly angry or anything.]

The flatness returns from Kyoko's soul, though this time it's less unimpressed and more pensive, a sort of cold feeling from the normally firey soul. It takes a moment for her to shake it off, though she returns with a little less enthusiasm than before.]

Just don't go messing with the spearhead and you should be fine.

[Ah, damn. Mami realizes she's gone too far and just kind of lets Kyoko's tip drop slowly to the ground, smiling in a melancholy sort of way.]

Ah yes. That is sound advice, Sakura-san. I mustn't go where I'm not wanted...
