[Morning Training, open to all!]

Location: Training Ground, Shibusen
Rating: PG-13 for violence of the training sort
Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on Friday, August 21st.

Perhaps, but if he doesn't question it, she doesn't have to make excuses or go into detail. Watson's being rough and tumble, but flopping on his back more than once in the process.

"Cute..." Glancing over her shoulder, she watches her Meister for a moment, but then turns back to Mondo. That seems to be a very popular word among people she knew. Shaking her head, she decides to dwell past this. "Anyway, Oowada-san, I would like to have a word with you."

It's probably for the best that he had been first approached by the dog. His sour mood from earlier has tapered off a little, and though the request is a little unexpected, he's feeling a little more compliant than he had been.

"Oh? About what?" He supposes he should ease off a little on the attention directed toward the dog in that case, and gives him a couple pats on the head before straightening up.

Without so much attention, Watson looks between the humans and gets a look from Naoto. His mouth closes and he sits, waiting.

"About your relationship with Fujisaki-san." Naoto doesn't see a reason to beat around the bush now. There was information on the network and just the short discussion with Chihiro that had made her want to hear more about it.

Ah. Right. Of course. About the very reason he had been feeling so down since BREW had sent Chihiro home. So much for the relaxing time playing with Naoto's dog.

"We were classmates back home. 'Dunno what else to tell ya." He's not being completely obstinate, even if his mood does appear to visibly deflate a little.

There could always be more time later.

Naoto stares, but decides to be more specific. "Only classmates? Why not 'friend'?" She crosses an arm and brings a hand to her chin, curious. "I mean, you know... don't you?"

It boils down largely to 'he feels like a horrible friend' and 'it's complicated', but those are the kinds of responses that would bring up even further questions.

"That's just how we met. We didn't know each other for very long or anything before coming here." That last question could really be taken a couple different ways - Mondo was clued in to a few things not immediately evident about Chihiro, after all, but there's no reason to accidentally spill the wrong the wrong information here. "Know what?"

Naoto has a feeling. With the discussion of death around them both and bears, she'll uncover this.

"I see." She turns her head away, eyes towards the distance. For a moment, it didn't seem like she would expand, but she spoke finally. "Fujisaki-san shouldn't wear boxers under a skirt on a windy day. I understand his reason for not wearing shorts, but there are other options. I made a few suggestions."

At the use of 'his', Mondo opens his mouth as if to protest, but falls short, and quickly closes it again. Instead he simply replies with a short exhale. Naoto is obviously confident in her assessment, and he can't help but be reminded slightly of Kirigiri pin-pointing that very fact. At least, this time, it wasn't due to his own misstep.

"Hn, never mentioned bringing it up with anyone else..." Forgive the dodgy language, he's made sure it was a habit and it's difficult to simply break. Hands on his hips, he drops his focus down very briefly before looking squarely at the detective once more. "You better not have given Fujisaki a hard time over it."

No, Naoto wouldn't put the words into his mouth. She uncovered it on her own without putting a hand on anyone.

"Why would I?" Naoto raises an eyebrow at this, crossing her arms. "I find a bravery and comradery in Fujisaki-san. It's the same for both of us, but for opposing reasons. I invited him over to speak to Kanji before BREW returned him so they could discuss masculine social expectations."

That earns Naoto a questioning look from Mondo.

"It's the same for both of you...?" Oh no, has he missed something important here? ~~Yes.~~

Naoto finds this routine old, but she has to move into it. Most of Death City knows by now, but she's comfortable with what she has been wearing; though, the binder could go someday.

"I had the pre-conceived notion that I could never live up to my name because I was a girl. Naturally, I had to be emotional and weak, incapable of performing my job. So, I became a boy and, after that, was given the title of Detective Prince." She shook her head. "Funny how things work... had worked until recently when I finally made friends."

Mondo doesn't take it upon himself to get involved in most other people's personal lives, so he's a little out of the loop for things like this.

He listens to what she has to say, his expression not reflecting any judgement, but perhaps a little sympathy. It was strikingly similar to Chihiro's situation, and he can't help but recall when the boy had told him his own story. ~~Just have to forget the parts with the black-out rage that followed.~~ When she's done, he sighs, bowing his head down again and bringing a hand to his face because he feels kind of really stupid for not being able to figure it out earlier.

"Shit, I had no idea."

She shakes her head. "I try not to make it obvious. I'm still coming to terms not only with what it means to be a woman, but also what it means to be a detective."

Naoto takes a moment, considering what she knows about Mondo and Chihiro. Obviously, he knows the other boy's secret. A murderous bear, death, there's a few possibilities. Guilt over secrets... "... Oowada-san, I'll extend the same offer to you as I did to Fujisaki-san. I can't say we have been through the same experience, even when it comes to strange bears, but if we can help in some way, we will."

He does recall bringing up Monokuma on the network not long after arriving, so Naoto mentioning something about 'strange bears' isn't the odd part. It's more-so the fact that she seems to be implying that she's got some experience with something similar that brings out some confusion in him. His pride wants to turn down the offer for help, but his curiosity over that comment in particular takes precedence.

"... What do you know about bears?"

"For one, they can't seem to decide what color they want their fur to be. Another, if it's just in their strange nature to find a way to fit in a bear pun. Finally, must they be nosy?"

She decides to shrug. "It wouldn't make him Teddie though were he to act otherwise. He's gradually learning to be human..."

That sounds... way different from Monokuma, honestly. Except maybe the nosy part, what with all the cameras and monitors he had set up around the school.

"I'd take something like that any day over our situation." He reaches back, rubbing at the back of his neck as he tries to push down memories of what Monokuma had put them through, and was likely still doing to his other classmates. "Sounds like a walk in the park in comparison."

"That's only Teddie. I left out crucial details though, but I did mention he's not human. He grew a 'human' body only after we met him."

Naoto frowns, considering where to go and what to divulge at this time. "In fact, what I've not mentioned yet has bled over and become a problem in this world. It's another reason why anything you haven't confronted inside you should be addressed before it decides to come back. Although, we're hoping the source decides to stay away from Death City; still, nothing can be guaranteed."

"Better to deal with something that's learning to be human over one that's obviously losing any trace of humanity." Even if the literal 'becoming human' thing seemed really... weird. He'll give her that much as bizarre, at least.

Mondo frowns as he takes a moment to digest Naoto's words. It's not like she's aware of what parts of himself that he has or has not come to terms with, but still, the warning is kind of unsettling. More importantly, "Are you saying something from your world is trying to affect this one...?"

"Yes. That decline was stopped." As gradual as it can be with fog and people losing their minds. They survived December and March respectively... mostly.

"He's already here, biding his time." Her answer was bitter, but controlled enough. Focusing on him had annoyingly helped her fight through Madness. "He became a Kishin long before I arrived. Still, facing him is only possible if you can breach the fog he controls. And no, it isn't a simple thick fog. From past accounts, it's the very same one that will draw out negative aspects and things you wish to keep hidden. It will wear your face and want your acknowledgement. If you can't, it will attack with intent to kill you."

So, it's less something from Naoto's world, and more... someone? Weird, but good to know, he supposes? Even if the warning is strange and kind of vague (A fog that draws out negative aspects? How would that even work) he'll at least keep the warning in mind for the future. Just in case.

"That's pretty fucked up." Eloquence. "Sounds like you're familiar with how it works, though."

She wasn't expected any finesse from him. Same way she rarely expected it from Kanji.

"... I baited the ploy before. My 'other self' wanted to perform an impromptu surgery when I rejected her. Of course, this was back home where fighting back was easier."
