Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on Friday, August 21st.

Yes, but a bit stubborn at times when it comes to taking care of himself! He quit the baking job some time back so he could spend more time working at my shop.

Hehe, yeah, but he has people to help him with that when he forgets. Oh, that makes sense.

[Rosalia watches. The topping was pretty mild, but if anyone wanted it hotter, there was hot sauce and a spicer salsa on the side.]

These are great. Reminds me of when my grandmother made them.

Was this something you learned to cook back home? My grandmother was from Mexico and she made these once in a while when I was growing up.

[And she'll add a couple of dashes of hot sauce now.]

Yeah. When we moved to Mexico, daddy brought me some recipes on Mexican cuisine. I mean, making Pancakes and cooking crepes was okay, but I was sad so he thought something new I could try would make me happy.

Oh, why were you sad? Did you miss your old home?

Yeah, but dad said we had to go so we left.

I see. Where did y'all live before Mexico?

We lived in Maine.

[Don't even imagine the travel time.]

Land sakes! That's a long way to move! Was it because of work or something like that? [She's guessing it might be for such a long distance.]

Yeah. Something like that.

I see. Do you still miss your old home or did you get used to Mexico?

I got used to Mexico, but I'll always miss my old home.

What was Maine like? I haven't spent much time in that part of America. [Most of her years since leaving Texas had been spent abroad.]

Maine's mostly cold throughout the year, but its humid so that keeps it warm enough.

And then I remembered the whale hunting mission she did with Lezard was there... /facepalm

[Nodding.] I reckon it must have taken some getting used to a much warmer climate. It seemed pretty from what little I saw the other week.

It wasn't so bad. We arrived during winter and lived close to the mountains.

That would help but I guess it was still hotter than you were used to in the summers, huh? But I think this place takes the cake for hottest place I've ever lived.

It was bad the first summer, but it got better. [Looking around, Rosalia nods in agreement.] I have a good parasol for the sun though.

That's a good idea, I reckon. Still, I've got to wonder why they keep holding training out here with how hot it's been. [Didn't people ever pass out from the heat?]

It's early enough that it's still manageable. And the sun isn't directly overhead. I mean, any later, and people would definitely get heat stroke.

I guess. I suppose the locals would be used to it but I worry a bit for other folks. At least, we're getting close to the end of summer.
