The discounted price came at a surprisingly good time. With the temperatures in Nevada climbing and no end in sight, it seems the owners of a Pacific Northwestern lodge took pity on the Meisters and Weapons of Shibusen and offered them a break from the heat. Despite it being July, the snow was still plentiful for skiing, snowboarding, sledding and innertubing! Dress warm, rent some gear or bring your own and have at it, they say!

From dawn to dusk, the mountain is lively on all sides, boarders and ski nuts to ski newbies enjoying a mid-week break while nature buffs take hikes over the trails on the greener side of the mountain, reachable by a short bus ride from the main lodge. Whether you're more into the powdery white or the vivid green, there's a spot for you to take a breather on Mount Hood.

[ Oh, she did make it as a gift for him.. he's not too sure how to deal with that (did girls give him presents or didn't they MAKE UP YOUR FREAKING MIND ARAKI HOW CAN I RP WHILE YOU'RE BEING INCONSISTENT!!!) so he just stares for a moment, but then he starts to smile a little embarassed and dorky at the same time. His cheeks flush just a tiny bit. ]

Hey, this is a gift you know! You don't have to pay me back for anything. [She smiles wider though, pleased that he likes it and actually a little relieved too. It would've sucked if he didn't like it after all.] But you're welcome. I'm glad you like it.

Of course I like it, you made it for me! [ Apparently that in itself is reason enough to like it. In fact, he smiles as he wraps it around his neck before glancing at her.. and then he wraps the rest of it around her neck as well. ]

There, now neither of us have to be cold!

[Blinking out of mild surprise at first, she wasn't expecting this...! But then she laughs lightly, looking down at the scarf before looking back at Josuke.]

It's going to be kind of hard to walk around once we get off this thing.

[ He echoes the laugh, especially at what she's saying. He's already imagining what it would look like, and sure, sure, even Josuke realises it would seem dorky as hell, but it's not like he minds it all that much. ]

We'll just have to do our best then. I'm not gonna leave you out in the cold by yourself, after all. [ WOAH SMOOTH AS HELL. Not that he realises it though, he can't be smooth when he tries.. ]

[2014: the year Josuke became SMOOTH. Even Minako's a little surprised, but she laughs and smiles like usual, her cheeks tinged pink not just from the cold this time.]

Alright, if you say so. Just don't blame me if we end up tumbling in the snow like this!

[ Wooing her over through smoothness he doesn't even realise himself, obviously. Instead he just laughs. ]

Hey, at least we'll be warm even if we're covered in snow. [ You know, since they're so close together like this.. or maybe he just means because of the scarf. (It's probably the latter.) ]

If we're really that warm, it almost sounds like we'd just end up melting the snow. [The snow doesn't stand a chance against combined body warmth + A SCARF!!!]

Damn, don't jinx it! We'd end up ruining the trip for everyone!

[ But despite his exaggerated reaction, he can't help but laugh at the idea as they're finally at the top of the hill and can get off the skilift. ]

[Minako puts a finger to her lips in a 'shh' motion despite not even pretending to whisper, following him off the lift.]

Hey, be quiet! Everyone knows that if you actually say it out loud, that's what makes the jink happen!

[ He's immediately clasping a hand in front of his mouth. Good job, Josuke, very.. dignified... he's totally not gullible at all, what do you mean. ]

....... but she can roll with this SCREAMS. Her expression is as straight as a poker face can be, just the slightest touch of grave though. The situation just got ~*HEAVY*~.]

Yeah, really. A jinx is like a curse, you know? You have to say it out loud for it to really happen, and once you do, it's already too late...

[ Sometimes he's very capable of telling jokes apart from other things, but this isn't one of those moments, okay.. so he's still just staring at her before taking a look around him. Shit, he already said it, so is it already staring..?! ]

Shit! C'mon, Minako, we've got to fucking get off the mountain! [ In fact, he's already busy grabbing her arm.. taking this a little too far, huh. ]

[You'd think with a reaction like that she'd let it drop, but not quite yet apparently...]

Don't you get it, Josuke? It's already too late! Even if we make it off this mountain in one piece, the jinx will follow us wherever we go! [She puts her hands on her face, eyes widening in SHEER HORROR.] We're doomed.

[ Minako, you're seriously ruining him here. Especially since he's hanging onto every word she says and completely believing it since he's already gone too far in for the rational part of his brain to kick in and tell him that he should just back off already.. ]

T.. there's nothing we can do?! Really? [ Oh god, he doomed them.. NOW HE'S FUCKED UP!! ]

This is it. [She says this so GOD DAMN SOLEMNLY it's like she actually got handed a death sentence. So what does she do she

[ Yeah, that's what fully breaks him. Since it doesn't seem like Minako is joking in the slightest and like hell he's just going to leave her lying on the snow since it's cold and all, so a moment later he's already moving to scoop her right up and hold her in his arms like a princess carry. Sure, it might look embarassing as hell to whoever might be watching but he's not going to let her get cold even if they jinxed the trip, okay, GOT TO PROTECT PEOPLE priorities kicking in. ]

Shit, don't just say that, Minako! We're not gonna give up that easily! [ Josuke.. it's a joke... slow down.. ]

But we came all this way here for—! [MINAKO WILL YOU JUST GIVE IT UP AND EXPLAIN THAT YOU WERE KIDDING?!?!

The answer is no though as a smile suddenly flashes across her face, and she repeatedly pats Josuke on the shoulder to get his attention.]

No, wait, wait! I just remembered something that can break the curse!

All we have to do, [pointing to their snowboard and skis] is go down the mountain on these faster than it can keep up! It's perfect!
