EVENT: Retake the City
Characters: Every who signed up to retake the city
Location: Death City
Rating: PG
Time: July 4th
Description: There are Kishin eggs in the city. Like, everywhere. They've pretty much taken over and we can't have that, now can we?
Early in the morning, the sandstorm finally began to fade. By noon, it was gone completely, leaving behind far too much sand for comfort. The city is not in the best shape, having taken damage from the elements as well as the Kishin Eggs that are crawling all over the place, who seem to have made this place a new home.
They could move under the sand (and were quite fast when they did) and the fact that apart from their mouth the rest of their orifices was quite small it's clear that they were built to move like that. There's also the pesky fact that the city has buildings and alley ways they can hide in. The fact that Death City is layered like a cake is also a problem as it creates a lot of place for an enemy to jump down and ambush unsuspecting victims.
Of course, it's easy enough to repay in kind.
Either way, the familiar streets of Death City is now a battleground and the objective? Take back the city.

The souls are too close together to determine a kill... proceed with caution, but we ought move before the prize is stolen once more and we chase monsters all day.
no subject
[As she went to retrieve the souls...] You don't sense anything else sneaking up on us, do you?
no subject
None. Perhaps that was all prowling in this particular neck of the city. Perhaps they would be drawn closer to the center of the city where there are souls to feast upon, but perhaps they've been driven further out for their own self-preservation?
Hm. Perhaps I ought study the behavior of kishin eggs with the capture of a live one. What do you suppose, dearest?
no subject
You want to capture one of those critters? And where would you find a cage large enough to keep it from trying to eat you?
[As she grabbed the other and handed them both to Lezard, a terrible thought occurred to her.]
...You don't suppose these things might have eaten some new folks that contraption dragged here, do you? [They'd found that troll girl Vriska the day before but it seemed the search of the city had turned up an unusually small number of newcomers.]

[The souls were accepted, and he pulled them into himself, which was strange considering how tangible they felt. They seemed to melt into him easily enough.]
The witches of this world have no issue confining the monsters. I will concoct a way for the benefit of Shibusen and the people of Death City!
no subject
[But she supposed they'd better move on from here. Make sure there weren't other creatures lurking in this part of the city, looking to pounce on returning residents. With a sigh, she reached for his hand.]
And how do you propose to do that? That binding spell didn't work on you so I reckon it wouldn't on the demons here either. Unless you've discovered some new magic you haven't told me about...
no subject
[He only laughed as he took her hand and transformed again.]
Kishin eggs are mortal like you or I. Strong bars and a 'Plan B' would be sufficient in trapping the wretches for research purposes. But I suppose I could add BREW to my To Do List. We've known nothing about it for long enough.
no subject
And if you actually manage to get some answers out of that cotton-pickin' contraption, I'd like to hear them!
[Keeping an eye out for any more suspicious sand drifts, she resumed walking. Maybe, she could check on the shop to make sure it was okay. If they didn't run into any more demons on the way...]
no subject
[And speaking of, as they turned and made their way back to the shop, he kept his senses peeled for more.]
Worry not- My beloved Lily will be the first to be given such important information.
no subject
[There was a slight roll of the eyes at his calling her 'my beloved Lily.' She didn't bother to protest anymore when he called her such things and, as with Aidan, didn't pay his attempts to flirt much mind most of the time. Otherwise, they'd be spending more time bickering than disposing of demons!]
[When they were a couple of blocks away from the shop, she tensed at the sound of a crash from a nearby alley. Another demon?] Is that—?
no subject
[She'd grown quite skilled at making her presence unknown to monsters... some of the time. His senses helped pick up the slack. In time she'd be the sneakiest Witch in all of Death City, but as it stood it did not do to be cocky. Another 10 souls, perhaps...]
no subject
[But before she reached it, a trio of oversized lizards emerged, attracted by the prospect of a couple of tasty souls.]
[Dag nab it! She quickly hurled the remaining flames in the air towards the reptiles.]
I hope you've got enough fire left for this!
