EVENT: Retake the City

Description: There are Kishin eggs in the city. Like, everywhere. They've pretty much taken over and we can't have that, now can we?



Early in the morning, the sandstorm finally began to fade. By noon, it was gone completely, leaving behind far too much sand for comfort. The city is not in the best shape, having taken damage from the elements as well as the Kishin Eggs that are crawling all over the place, who seem to have made this place a new home.

They could move under the sand (and were quite fast when they did) and the fact that apart from their mouth the rest of their orifices was quite small it's clear that they were built to move like that. There's also the pesky fact that the city has buildings and alley ways they can hide in. The fact that Death City is layered like a cake is also a problem as it creates a lot of place for an enemy to jump down and ambush unsuspecting victims.

Of course, it's easy enough to repay in kind.

Either way, the familiar streets of Death City is now a battleground and the objective? Take back the city.

[He stares at him.] What? Right now?

[tauborn]

[He raises an eyebrow.] Is there a better time?

[everylastone]

I guess not. But- [aren't they going to run each other ragged real quickly?] I'm not sure how good I'm with using this power without having a clear goal in mind.

[tauborn]

...So you think it's better if we find a Kishin egg first? [He's a little concerned about being unprepared. Doesn't it take a bit to get the 3D Maneuver Gear on? And that's not even including any time spent letting Takuto know exactly how to use him....] I hear they're pretty fast....

[everylastone]

[That's a good point, enough to make him grimace.]

I know. But if I don't- I'm not sure how well that'd go or if I can even do it. Though I did it during training too, I guess. [But that hadn't been a battle and thus had had a lot less chances of him going berserk again.]

[tauborn]

...What are we doing if you're not sure you can even do it. [This is a little late to suddenly confess he doesn't believe in himself, since they are already in the Kishin egg infested city.] I need you to be confident, or else our resonance isn't going to work. So say you can do it, and that we will succeed, and let's get out there.

[everylastone]

That's not what I meant at all, asshole. [The words are muttered with a less than impressed look - since their ages and ranks are so close Eren figures that it's okay to revert to a way of talking like he'd do with a fellow trainee member who tossed him a remark like that.

(Okay, so maybe he also really doesn't like the implication that he out of all people isn't inspired enough to go and fight.)]

What I meant is that I don't know if I can work with you like that without there being any reason for me to play along. But I know how to fight. When it's time to kill you can be sure that you can rely on me. I'll do it even without you if it has to be. [That's a mighty roar for such a half-fledged lion.]

[tauborn]

[Takuto doesn't mind the initial remark. He can tell it's spoken with more camaraderie than anything else. So he nods. At least he's got Eren enthusiastic about this. Though perhaps it's not the best indicator for a successful partnership if the weapon is intending to ditch him if he has to....] I'm not asking you to go solo, Eren. I mean--I need you to be able to rely on me, too.

And if you need a reason to play along, how about the fact our town is full of monsters? My friends are out there, too.

[everylastone]

-ck! [Eren flinches for a moment and looks pointedly to the side so that Takuto can't see the brief flashes of pained guilt rush over his face.

Trust him... Of course he knows that he has to trust his comrades and do his damnest to live up to the trust they place in him in return! But the last time that happened...!

Gritting his teeth, he grinds out] Okay. I don't want to see any more deaths if they can be prevented! [With that he focuses on his will to change and within a flash of green light the young soldier hasn't only changed to his Weapon-form, but the harness appears already fully wrapped around Takuto's body with everything in place - except for the swords.] 'But don't complain if this is getting more rough than you're used to!'

[tauborn]

[Takuto blinks and then inspects the harness, shifting a little this way and that way to try to get a feel for it all. It is... pretty awesome.]

I didn't know you could just put yourself on a meister! [Something akin to awe and gratitude is flowing through his wavelength, which is just as dazzling as ever. After all, there's nothing quite like banding together to save one's home to get Takuto's determined spirit soaring.]

[everylastone]

[Eren returns the sentiment with a small, smugly pleased note of his own, not minding the tugging at all.]

Well, it's only logical I can, isn't it? You guys would probably take days until you got it on properly while I can do it even in sleep. Is anything loose or restrictively tight somewhere?

[tauborn]

[He swings his arms and rolls his shoulders, then strikes a determined stance.]

A perfect fit!

[everylastone]

[A soft vibration goes through the harness as Eren tries to test his 'muscles' as well.]

Good. Oh. Looks like you didn't manage to get any blades? [Both sheaths are empty, presenting only three holes where three blades each other to be.]

[tauborn]

...Didn't manage? [He echoes Eren's words, not really sure what the weapon means. Isn't he supposed to have swords? And shouldn't that be a thing that Eren, the weapon itself, is supposed to manage? Come to think of it, he hadn't seen any swords the last time Eren had transformed, either. His wavelength takes on a questioning tone--he's confused and is beginning to wonder if he's already done something wrong.]

[everylastone]

Well, when I was with Pharaoh they just appeared with the rest of the gear. [The confusion is met with the equivalent of a shrug of shoulders and a blank face.] It's a resonance thing, I think?
