EVENT: Retake the City

Description: There are Kishin eggs in the city. Like, everywhere. They've pretty much taken over and we can't have that, now can we?

Early in the morning, the sandstorm finally began to fade. By noon, it was gone completely, leaving behind far too much sand for comfort. The city is not in the best shape, having taken damage from the elements as well as the Kishin Eggs that are crawling all over the place, who seem to have made this place a new home.

They could move under the sand (and were quite fast when they did) and the fact that apart from their mouth the rest of their orifices was quite small it's clear that they were built to move like that. There's also the pesky fact that the city has buildings and alley ways they can hide in. The fact that Death City is layered like a cake is also a problem as it creates a lot of place for an enemy to jump down and ambush unsuspecting victims.

Of course, it's easy enough to repay in kind.

Either way, the familiar streets of Death City is now a battleground and the objective? Take back the city.

Obviously, she hadn't been expecting Mondo either. She jumped, hands clapping over her mouth to keep herself from making a sound as she looked back at him. O-Oh, it was just another Guest... right? Yes, another Guest. Rosalia was sure she had seen him on the network before.

"I-I'm okay... but I can't get to the clinic. There's too many kishin eggs..."

Toes turning in as she remained huddled against the wall, she hugged herself tightly. "I should have tried getting a Meister before running out, but all I could think about was people already being hurt fighting... It was silly thinking I could make it without Disciple."

So, this girl needed a Meister? That must mean she's a weapon, right?

"Looks like we're both in luck." That certainly was one way to lift his spirits a little bit. "I'm a Meister, and if you think you can help me take down a couple'a these things, I'll help you get to where you need to go."

Not like he wouldn't try and get her there anyway, but if they could both benefit from it, why not throw the idea out there.

"Huh?" She glanced up at him again, blinking. We're in luck? Her eyes widened slightly. Wow, they really both were lucky to have met up like this. Not the best situation, but at least they did. "S-Sure. I don't mind helping you..."

He was a little intimidating, especially the hair (how was it so big?). "I'm best for hand-to-hand fighters. Will that be okay?"

"Couldn't have worked better if I planned it myself." He held a hand out toward Rosalia, his entire presence exuding confidence by this point. As long as they could take down some of the Kishin eggs, they should be able to get to the clinic easily, Mondo was sure of it.

... Wherever the clinic was, anyway.

"You're just going to have to point me in the right direction, sound good to you?"

So he was? That's great! Well, the situation still isn't, but they could get through it together. Rosalia raised a hand, almost like she was going to take hold of his to stand up, but she shifted to her Weapon form. The pink ribbon wrapped tightly around his hand and up to his elbow where it tied off into a bow.

"I can do that. It isn't that far from Casualty Communal if you remember where that is."

He blinked a couple times in surprise - a ribbon? That struck him as a pretty... strange weapon. Still, he said he'd help her, so he's going to stick to his word. He flexed and balled his hand into a fist a couple of times, trying to get used to the feeling of the new addition.

"Yeah, of course I remember." A pause, then, "It's not gonna like... hurt you if I hit something, is it?"

In her form, she was more or less like the wraps one would use when sparring or going up against a punching bag to protect their knuckles.

"Nope. As long as you don't trying ripping or yanking me off, I'll be fine." Her soul was at least reflecting a more cheerfully calming nature right now. She did feel much better helping someone. "I should tell you now, my ability makes Kishin eggs sick. When it reaches critical, I'll tell you to step back."

"Sounds good to me." That's really about all he needed to know, right? Let's get to fighting some Kishin eggs! As he geared up to go back into the more open areas, his soul flared up with an overwhelming sense of strength and vigor. Having her on board made it that much easier to let himself get excited about this.

He could probably stand to know more about the kind of eggs they were going up against, but even Rosalia didn't know all the details about them. His soul was charged up and she was ready to support.

"To get to the clinic and Casualty Communal, we just need to continue down the road. Since it's the main one though, the eggs keep crossing it."

The only way the two of them are going to learn anything about these monsters is if they can actually get close enough to them, of course. At least, that's what Mondo's banking on, anyway. After Rosalia gave her directions, he returned with a small nod of understanding. "Got it."

And with that, he took off from behind the wall when it looked like the coast is clear. As much as he was itching to give the Kishin eggs some payback for terrorizing the city, having someone in tow gives him a reason to exercise a little more caution than he would on his own, or even with his gang. He isn't about to let someone get hurt again due to his own propensity for recklessness, after all.

But with the sheer number of Kishin eggs crawling around the city, it's virtually impossible to get anywhere without running into one, or two, or even more. He's lucky enough to see one coming toward them from under a thick blanket of sand, and with the increased speed and agility brought on through the resonance, he has no trouble reacting in time to dart out of range as the monster rears up in front of the pair. There was a bolt of surprise that went through Mondo's end of the wavelength, but there's little fear there. After the psychological manipulation that happened with his class back home, facing down some monster that he knew was dumb and mindless with little motivation was nowhere near as daunting.

"I just gotta hit this thing then, right?"

[I am so sorry this took so long. OTL We've been having a lot of problems with our internet and moving to a new apartment and whatnot.]

"Yeah. Do your best and leave taking it down to me."

She felt the surprise, but she had to keep herself together and not get surprised herself. This was going to happen with someone new against kishin eggs and she had to support them, not freak out. Though, her hold did tighten around his knuckle, but holding back from cutting off his circulation.

Resolving herself, she got ready for the attack, giving him a boost of energy again.

It's probably for the best that she didn't allow herself to get caught up in Mondo's own emotions, and it provided a nice enough grounding for him that he didn't get carried away either. Swallowing any hesitation he might have due to the unfamiliar situation, he charged back in to battle mode, using the energy boost provided to quickly get in close to the Kishin egg.

Taking note to avoid that large mouth of the monster, he dove right in from the dash to land a punch solidly on it. The force behind the blow came as a surprise to him, not being aware of just how much of a power buff resonance provided, but it's not enough to break his focus, luckily.

He was fast, but that's because they were working together. This kind of temperament was something new to her, but she was holding steady, making sure he didn't go too crazy or mad... Was he angry?

Not the time to consider attitude as the kishin's mouth is right there, but Mondo dodged. Brought around, she struck directly. Not only was energy behind the punch, but energy was injected as she left the flower bruise on the egg.

"That's one! Keep at it!"

Not angry, just hot blooded! Mondo's the sort of person who loves fighting, and there hasn't been much of an opportunity for him to get it out of his system just yet.

He didn't let himself dwell too much on just how strange the effect from the ribbon was, there was really no time for that, and as long is it helped bring this beast down, that was all he cared about. The attack didn't go unnoticed from the creature, and once Rosalia spoke up, Mondo dodged out of the way once more to avoid being slammed into by the Kishin egg. The opportunity to land another hit on it is presented, though, and Mondo wasted no time in making contact once more, already feeling a little more adjusted to the different level of power from the resonance.

Oh, so he's like Maria. That she can handle pretty well then!

At the next impact, the first blossoming bruise flowered, its petals growing while the new bruise was only a bud. "A few more should do it." With little energy actually going into the infection, she could give Mondo another boost of energy as the egg came around. It would soon be going into distress.
