[ EVENT ]
For the past few days, the sound of strong winds and sand hitting glass and walls have become the usual background noise. Goggles and scarves and protective gear have become necessary accessories when venturing outside.
The night before, the winds continued to pick up until, early in the morning, the power flickered and died. For the people staying behind the power comes and goes, but a lot of people won't be around to notice.
Not long after the power goes out, the sound of the sandstorm is joined by the blaring of sirens, followed by an announcement about an evacuation. All residences are directed to Shibusen where they will pass through the mirror usually used by mission goers to travel to their destination.
The shelter they find themselves in is a cylindrical room with lots of bunk beds along the wall and seats on the other side. Don't worry, there are a few of these areas connected to each other via open doorways. There's enough room for everyone! Sort of. At the very least, there's enough room for everyone to fit in there even if there aren't quite enough beds for everyone, especially since it's not only the guests who are here.
At least everyone gets a thin blanket so even if you end up on the floor it won't be too cold.
Please indicate in the header: [Character | Location (either the Shelter, or somewhere in Death City if it's during the evacuation) | Date ]
((OOC: this log will cover the IC days of July 2nd to July 3rd. Feel free to start open threads either set in the bunker or during the evacuation or both!))

"Our only option might be to sit and wait for the power to come back on," he said in a low voice, holding his knees tightly to control what appeared to be a full-body tremor. "That could be minutes, or hours. If we're lucky."

The power suddenly flickered back on, the elevator roared to life and Nanami flung herself over at the button panel as fast as she could from a sitting position slamming an open palm against the open door button about only about 0.013 seconds too late as it all shut down again. "...crap!" And she moaned all the way back to a sitting position this time directly next to the panel so she could reach it faster next time.
After another moment of silence she spoke to him. "So... interesting sand storm we're having, huh?"

He could register the change in light, straightening and starting to scramble to his feet, but there was barely even time to react before it was pitch black, with only the comparatively feeble flashlight beam to illuminate their little rectangular cell.
Her seat put her fairly close to him. He raised his head when she asked a question that was, really, far too casual and general to really do the current predicament and justice.
"Did you really just ask me if the sandstorm was interesting? I'm scared, and bored, and that is the worst combination I can possibly think of."

They were cheap shots, but she was right about "I Spy" being out of the question... and instead of acknowledging she was powerless she was doing something entirely different, and attempting to... lighten things.
He was surprised at just how grateful he was. Disgusted, even, but too scared and bored to attempt to take things in a different direction.
"...that doesn't mean we can't play a game..."

"Do you know some?"

But he doubted he could propose such a thing to Nanami.
"There's always truth or dare," he mumbled, half-joking.
no subject
"I always thought that was more of a party game, besides, how would you verify that I've completed any of your dares?"

"Forgive me if the only ones I can even remember hearing about rely solely on the ability to see like charades. What about some sort of word game?"

"You could try to guess what I'm thinking of," L said coldly.
His tone didn't make it very difficult to guess that pointless waste of time was very likely foremost in his thoughts.

"I wonder if you're thinking anything at all. That could be guessed," he revised, belatedly and apathetically.
