Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on June 24th.

[He frowns.] Is that like a spear? [He's had to learn so many terms relating to weapons after coming here.]

...And as weird as it may sound, I think it's the people who don't really like fighting who should be doing it.

[They're at a good place in the training field where they have enough space to practice, and Takuto fetches a short wooden sword to hold in his other hand while he works with Shinji.]

Sort of, but there's a blade at the end instead of a spearhead.

[He takes a moment to think over Takuto's statement, though he can't really see where he's coming from with it.] That does sound a little weird. It would make sense that someone who enjoys it wouldn't hold as many reservations about fighting when they need to. So... when it comes time to fight, you'd want someone who has an interest in it, right?

I don't mind the cold so much. I fear I'm made more for cooler climates.

Well, the country's pretty big. At least it seems like it on a map.

[A very faint, though fond smile crosses his expression at that.] He is.

Ah, yeah. It was usually hot like this back home, but we never did any training outdoors. [He gives a small sigh.] It's a lot to get used to.

*Auron only manages to twist a little bit, so Kanji's knee slams into his side and not in his stomach. It does force him backward with a wince.*

Guess I should be glad you're not hitting me with a desk.

There seems to be a lot of Japanese kids around here. I wonder if that's something important.

[He presses his lips together in a smile. So. Kanji and Naoto were partners, living together, dating, and now they had a puppy. It seems pretty serious, and he's very happy for them.]

I see. [He sees more than he's letting on. Sometimes couples get a dog first, as kind of a test, before they think about having kids, right? Suddenly Kanji and Naoto seem very very mature in comparison to his own rocky relationship.]

So you've got a new place then, huh? Where are you living now?

[tauborn]

[He really... doesn't know what to make of that. He's always kind of felt like everyone in Death City is from everywhere, but maybe that's because before coming here, everyone he'd known was Japanese.] I don't know if it is or not, but I'm pretty sure we come from a lot of different Japans, if that makes sense.

[pishirogane]

[Takuto, no. If she knew his thought process currently, that would be far out of any present bounds....]

We moved to the third floor of Tartarus Terrance.

How have things been going between Yako-san and yourself?

[ferroustigmata]

[Tiredly,] Yeah--and maybe it wouldn't be so bad if the weather changed at all around here. But it's always hot, even when the wind decides to grace us with its presence.

But to be honest, I don't spend time at morning training doing any actual...training. I mostly keep my eye out for Weapons looking for temporary Meisters for missions. I'm proficient at using just about anything as a weapon, so resonation is the only concern.

[tauborn]

People who want to fight will do so regardless of whether or not it's needed--they destroy things. People who don't want to fight will only do so if they have to, because they protect thing.

[He holds out his hand to ask for resonance, giving Shinji a very serious look. Combined with his words, it seems like he's asking for a rather ominous trust.] Sometimes I'm not sure which kind of person I am, so I'm glad that at least you're the kind of person you are.

[tauborn]

Um... okay. [He's learned a new word recently, and that word is "polyamory." He's not at all sure what to do about it yet, though. He sighs.] I mean, things always seem to either be good or terrible, and they're not terrible right now.

[pishirogane]

[Naoto knows that word. Don't say anything...]

Hmmm... Perhaps you two should try going on a mission together.

[For Naoto, there's nothing like working to bond her and Kanji together a little more.]

[tauborn]

[And now he's starting to blush while he flounders for words.] I... er... um, well, the thing is... we... kind of decided that wouldn't be the best decision....

[Takuto is the kind of person that gets distracted very easily, after all. Kanji had suggested the very same thing, and his attempts at resonance with Yako had made it very clear that they just weren't suited as a meister-weapon pair.]

A-and besides, she's already got Sasha as a partner and they work really well together!

[Nanami's not crazy about partnering with a woman she doesn't know very well but the fact that she knows how to use a sword is a plus especially after working with the clueless Hamel

She reaches out and takes Morgan's hand... but of course she always has one request]

I'd rather you not watch me transform, so if you wouldn't mind closing your eyes for a minute...

... I see.

[That's strange. And somewhat disconcerting.] What have you two been doing then?

[tauborn]

[For a moment he mostly gapes at her. Did she really... really just ask him that?]

Uh...

[No really, how is he supposed to answer this?] N-normal c-couple stuff? And, um, I guess I'm always trying to not make a mess of things.

[fujigglephysics]

[The slice flows smoothly, and had there been anything in front of it, there would have been a sharp, neat cut of a limb falling. Nothing seems to be too out of the ordinary with the resonance so far! As far as it's concerned, Fujino is well-assured that it's going go well.]

Excellent. Guess we're probably ready, then!

[pishirogane]

[Yes, she did. Was there really any harm?]

Very well... [What's with that-- oh. Maybe she should get on another subject] So, we can both agree things are going well for both parties at present.

[tauborn]

[There is harm in asking that question! You might end up learning more than you want! Good thing Takuto is properly embarrassed enough for the both of them.]

Right. Things are going well.

[He picks the gun back up, eager to be on another subject.] So you've been going on lots of missions lately, huh?

[bloodinbloom]

The feathers... Okay, I can do that.

[Have to be careful as to not pull those out or bend them as she brushes. Too bad they don't make a brush for feathers; that would be much better right now.]

[pishirogane]

[Good. Don't want to stray down anything too weird.]

Yes, we have. There's only a few more before we reach ninety-nine souls finally.

[tauborn]

[He puts the gun back down in surprise.] Really? That's awesome! So you'll be a Deathscythe soon, then!

[As Takuto elaborates, Shinji remains quiet. Given the circumstances he was forced into back home, he's not really sure just how applicable Takuto's reasoning was to himself. After all, whenever he took a step back to look at the motives behind his actions and drive to go into combat, it was never as entirely selfless as just wanting to protect something. Of course, letting humanity get wiped out was something he would put himself on the line to avoid not that it did him much good in the long run, but so much of his own personal interest had been tied up in being liked and treated well that implying he might be as noble as to fight to simply protect felt laughable.

His focus wavered off Takuto and down to the ground for a moment, the other's words clearly affecting him. When he looks back up, there's a definite lack of resolve on his expression. Regardless, he finds no reason not to trust him, so he extends his reach out to the redhead, lightly resting his hand against the other's.]

I'm probably a bigger coward than you're giving me credit for.

[With that, he swiftly shifts into weapon form.]
