Characters: Yami Bakura and Nanami & and whoever would like to visit them.
Location: Hospital
Rating: PG-13
Time: May 21st – May 26th
Description: Yami Bakura and Nanami share a hospital room after their disastrous mission in Venezuela. Yami Bakura will be unconscious until May 25th, but Nanami will behere all week folks awake for the most part.
The room was silent with the exception of the machines beeping to remind visitors that the two bodies in the room were still warm. Nanami spent her time awake staring at the ceiling or out the window and periodically glancing over at her dormant partner in the other hospital bed that occupied the room.
He was covered in various bandages with bruises peeking out from behind them. His hair was sticking out in a more ridiculous manner than usual due to the bandage wrapped around his head like some sweatband from the 80’s. She had been updated on his condition shortly after she regained consciousness and besides the things you could see he had also twisted an ankle and had been poisoned by one of the monsters they had tried to fight off. The antidote had been administered shortly after they had arrived at the hospital but he was still unconscious.
Nanami hadn’t managed to get off scot-free either. Aside from the usual cuts, scrapes and bruises she had some deep lacerations on the left side of her back that had been stitched up and she was still anemic.

Bakura floated slight above where the desert had been, keeping as alert as possible. This... this was not good... Briefly, the thought of fleeing crossed his mind, but if there indeed was yet another presence inside the spirit...
Because this felt wrong. Between the spirit not waking up, hiding inside his mind and now this...
No. No he wasn't going to run. He was going to reach the other Bakura even if he was yelled at for it in the end. Because he knew the spirit wouldn't give up so easily that he would want to be defeated by just a kishin....

For a moment the dark space was only that - and then dark tendrils started to wind themselves searchingly around the Weapon's limbs, spreading cold where they touched and eager to assimilate him. There was no place for warm hearts and positive feelings nor for individuality.
I've seen enough hentai to know where this is going... *lol*
What was going on?! This didn't feel right... this---
No. No, this was the wrong sort of darkness. This wasn't the comforting oblivion that waited in the back of his mind, this was something worse...
'Bakura! Where are you?! Answer me!'
If this was the result of whatever had harmed his double... Could he use his attack here...? By himself? Would it do any good? They were resonating... weren't they? But how could he roll?
lol at least it's not tentacles
It felt a lot like being eaten by the darkness during the duel with the other Malik had felt, except that the darkness in Bakura's soul was more like dissolving acid rather than the bites of unseen beasts.
It didn't take long until the the darkness threatened to pool over the youth's head.
It's close!
He tensed, pulling into himself, gathering all his focus. Even if he couldn't roll... even if he couldn't roll....!
The light around him intensified before he gave a loud yell, pushing back against the darkness with all of his might and all of his soul. He wouldn't allow himself to be eaten again...!

It had, however, been enough to catch the attention of somebody else.
The mood of the scene they were both caught in suddenly shifted once again as the gnawing darkness turned into a black sea and a presence different to the disembodied first one appeared next to the pool Ryou was caught in.
"Yare yare... You really can't help but be an utter pain in my side, can't you?" A hand reached inside the pool and caught Ryou by the arm to pull him up. This time it was Bakura's voice who spoke, although it still seemed a bit too old and too rough as it drawled with a sadistic edge. Similarly the hand that was pulling him effortlessly out of the dark mass was too big to be the Sennen Spirit's, with callouses on its palms and several rings on it's fingers that pressed against his skin. Brief flashes of gold gleamed against the dark twilight that created more shadows than chances for sight.

"Go stand by yourself."
With those words he tossed him backwards onto the ground that had been water just before. The scene change had completed in the few seconds that Ryou had been distracted. Now they were in a small old house that was crafted out of stone and materials found in the desert. It must have been standing abandoned for a while before their arrival since it was full with dust and sand and the windows were blank ruins through which one could see a stunning night sky even though the sound of heavy rain was filling the air. The house itself had been a home once, shown by countless little things that had apparently been abandoned in a hurry.
The shadow of Bakura slunk to the other side of the house (which wasn't all that far away) where he took a seat somewhere next to what seemed to be a door that was made from nothing but a heavy fabric. Another curtain, thin enough to be almost see-through and old enough to crumble when touched hung between the owner of the soul and his visitor.

He hesitated a moment before almost timidly moved around the curtain to see the face of his rescuer. "...Bakura? Is that you....?"

Despite those details being visible the rest of the spirit's 'body' remained oddly out of focus, like a figure in a dream whose features evaded the eyes as it kept being shrouded in shadows. It seemed as if he was peeking past the heavy cloth outside.
"......." Bakura said nothing to answer the question nor did he move.

"It is you... isn't it?" he continued, voice soft. "How you really look..."

Then the spirit finally turned towards its former host and again 'something' happened. For a moment the Sennen Ring could be seen clearly against a toned chest, new and gleaming with an unearthly inner fire as it's prongs buried into Bakura's chest and drew blood. Fresh blood also trickled on the Ring from above where the right half of Bakura's face had suddenly turned into a bloody ruin.
The Ancient Egyptian thief still didn't react to that, though. Instead his eyes, burning in a pale shade between blue and purple, kept staring unblinkingly at Ryou. Then he stood up with a fluid movement and suddenly the rain outside had turned into a hell of fire and murder, with people running and fighting for their lives as others gave chase and the village burnt down. Screams filled the air where they mingled with the stench of burning flesh. Within seconds the inferno had engulfed the house they had been in and swallowed it together with the form of the thief. There was a low rumble like that of an earthquake and then everything fell down into a giant pool of boiling gold and people that were being melted in it.
...and then Bakura's fist connected none too gently with Ryou's face before the Spirit of the Sennen Ring (now back to his familiar look with Ryou's body and the spiky hair) hauled him to his feet. "-stupid fucking idiot, do you want to die that badly?!"

"I--" he faltered, the words hitting after the punch had. "I wasn't..."
no subject
"What are you doing here anyway?! I think I made it plenty obvious that I don't want to be interrupted by anybody right now!"
no subject
"I was worried... because you were so badly hurt..."

Then he shrugged his shoulders. "Well, whatever. Do I want to know what drove you to doing something as stupid as this?"
no subject
He hesitated a moment. "...I wanted to find you. To make sure you were still in here..." he admitted softly, looking down at his hands.

Bakura raised his hand and a sleek metal prong started to materialize out of the thin air. It was about the length of a finger and glinted golden as it hovered over his palm. A small loop adorned its bottom.
"I wonder if you even realize what you have done?"

A wave of his hand was enough to send the spike flying at his host. Within seconds it, as well as four more spikes, had sealed him to the ground, hitting him in the shoulder, through a certain scar on his left hand and other painful places.
Bakura stared coldly at the intruder that was pinned to the 'ground' of his soulspace like a butterfly. "...Whatever you're touching you're ruining... Just die."
no subject
He hadn't meant for this... he hadn't meant to ruin anything, he had just....
His free hand weakly reached up, trying to reach out to his double. Had he truly ruined everything....? He didn't want to believe that-- He just wanted to make things right, truly to this time...! Why was it every good intention he had ended up this way....?

"It's nothing personal yadounushi. You've just turned from a valuable asset into a weakness that needs to vanish before he starts using it against me even more."
His hands found Ryou's neck and clasped around it hard.

The question was cut off as his air was, his eyes going wide as he strained and struggled to pull free and breathe. This wasn't happening. This wasn't happening, this--
There was a sudden glow of light before the bloodied form beneath the spirit vanished, replaced by the battered d10, red thread wrapped tightly around it.
