Characters: The Watch & OPEN to everyone
Location: Death City
Time: May 10th-13th
Rating: PG-13 for now
Warnings: Potential violence
Summary: The city is in chaos and the Watch is trying to do their job, but it's a little more than they can handle on their own.

The civilians have taken to the streets in a formal march of protest, holding signs both insulting and critical; some simply vulgar while others call for action- for change. They come from everywhere and don't stop until they reach Shibusen's stairs to rally with a growing mob of protesters. Shibusen agents gifted with Calming Wavelength stand by to allow attempts at mediation, but while they aren't violent, the protesters remain unyielding in their convictions.

In other parts of the city, trouble-makers work tirelessly to disrupt or sabotage businesses, paint graffiti over any untouched wall of known guest establishments, and harass the unusual-looking passerby. Don't go out alone, or you might find yourself cornered by these troublemakers with unpredictable temperaments.

The Watch is on the move in every district, working to protect its citizens and try their hand at peacemaking, but they're stretched pretty thin...

[OOC: Coordination post is here and as always, feel free to make your own threads!]

"Non-combatants are necessary to protect but irritating to answer to," Zero said. "If we stopped doing anything, I guarantee they'd be annoyed with that too."
scatterflower: (what?)

Chika nods. "Maybe. But still, they can at least use their brains or something when they're making demands from us."

"If there was a way for them to just tell us what they want without breaking things, maybe we'd get somewhere."
scatterflower: (that was really tough)

[personal profile] scatterflower 2013-03-21 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah. But you know how likely that is to happen," she said, sighing. "Have you ever had to deal with a situation like this before?"

"A situation? You mean where we had to fight and people didn't want us to?"
scatterflower: (okay I really have no idea what you're t)

[personal profile] scatterflower 2013-03-23 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, I meant more with the people who you were supposed to be fighting to protect wanting you to just either leave or die or something."

"Well...yes. A group of Mavericks managed to crash part of a orbiting station into the Earth and it caused a lot of people to be killed and innocent reploids to be destroyed."

He left out the part where he'd been tripping on the powers of the Maverick Virus and transforming it into the Zero Virus.

"... Oh god," Chika said, staring over at Zero for a moment. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up."

Zero looked down at the ground for a moment before taking a reflexive breath. Not necessary for a reploid but sometimes it was a good action to clear the mind. "You wouldn't have known. But...this is why I'm hoping things don't escalate that far. I already know how it ends."
scatterflower: (depressed)

[personal profile] scatterflower 2013-03-25 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Chika sighed. "Yeah... I hope it doesn't get anywhere near that far either."

"We have more people opposed to the Witches than we had reploids opposed the Mavericks." Still, disasters could happen.

Then again, hearing that probably wasn't something his partner didn't want to hear. Man, trying to get to know a new partner from scratch was tough. Did he have this hard a time with X?

Chika blinked. "We do? How many people did you have to fight against them?"

"The amount of Maverick Hunters fluctuated. We lost a ton in years of fighting so we were reduced to less than that number of guests here now."
scatterflower: (depressed)

[personal profile] scatterflower 2013-03-28 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh. I see..." Chika said. "I'm sorry you lost that many friends. That must've been hard."

She knows what it's like to lose a friend, but she can't imagine losing a lot of them like that.

"I'm kinda used to it by now." Unfortunately. He'd been torn from everyone before coming here. He's probably not even functional anymore in his own world, so he'll enjoy his time here while he can.
scatterflower: (a bit sad)

Chika frowned. "You... you shouldn't have needed to get used to it at all though."
