Description: Another small BREW hiccup results in another "round" of unexpected newcomers into the city.

Just like last time, a very small group of individuals has appeared within Death City, and just like last time, no one even knew about it. Fortunately things have been relatively calm these past few days and it's an especially warm day today, so at least any impromptu help and touring should go smoothly.

[ooc: Just like last time, this is a consolidated log for the volunteer intro buddy system. Either the new character or the volunteer can start the thread. For each thread, indicate the character names in the subject line. Whether or not another character is pulled in is up to the players, BUT the threads are closed to the initial partnered characters (hence the "semi-closed" label.

[Once again, Serph is tempted to just walk off and find someone more knowledgeable.]

Your leader. Who is it?

Leader? Mmm... I guess Kid would be that... since he's the one who makes most of the announcements and he is the shinigami....

Can you take me to him?

[A simple enough request, right?]

Mm.... I can show you where his office is [[or what he assumed was Kid's office since he saw him there more often than anywhere else]]... but I'm not sure if he'd be there right now...

We can check, though! [[and he smiles as he starts walking]] Normally when new people arrive, Kid and the others are on hand helping answer questions so that normally everyone else just has to answer the smaller ones about the town and Weapons and things like that. It's sort of a little more difficult when BREW doesn't give any warning, they don't even know to get ready... a pain, really!

[Serph listens, but follows in relative silence.

Unfortunately, Bakura is his only source of information for the moment.]

Good to assume they can't find Kid?

[[The silence is just going to make Bakura ramble on more, sadly.

Though at least now he's just pointing out where things are as they pass by. Classrooms, a spot with a good view of the city out the window...]]

Aa-- here, down this hall. [[everything's symmetrical along the walls, you can tell it's where Kid spends time.]] Though it doesn't look like the door's open...

[Serph takes note of everything for future reference. He may have to return here on his own later.

He moves toward the door automatically to see if he can break it open.]

Aaa-- I think if it's closed, it means he's not in....

[The Embryon pauses with his hand on the doorknob, turning to look at Bakura flatly.]

Should I not break it in?

[shiromadoushi]

It wouldn't do any good to do something like that, and it'd be trouble...

[Fine. Serph releases the knob and backs away.

Then he gives Bakura another look. So what now?]

[[The silent protagonist thing was starting to get a bit unnerving. Like Bakura was doing something wrong that this person was so quiet... ]]

Aaa-- you can check back here later, I'm sure you'll find him sometime! He's pretty busy, but not too hard to find, most days! Did you want me to show you around until then...? At least where the important things are...

[Poor Bakura. Serph is used to making people slightly unnerved and doesn't think anything of it.

He gives this option some thought and finally nods his head, standing back away from the door.]

[[Relief! He did something right! And the smile is back and the nervousness chased away again as he starts walking.]]

Probably the most important is going to be where your housing is going to be and the mall, since you can get almost anything you need at the mall for free as long as you show your mirror. Sort of like a stipend for BREW having brought you here!

[Serph tilts his head. This is a positive thing, at least. It's easier than killing other demons or selling plants for money. Though really, it sounds a little too good to be true.

He would pay any amount of money if it meant he could know what had happened to Sera.

Though speaking of killing demons... Serph stops suddenly, frowning and staring at his hands.

There's something missing. A familiar feeling he'd long grown accustomed to just isn't there anymore.]

[[It took Bakura another two steps to realize the mostly silent new arrival had stopped and he's a bit ahead before he stops as well, turning to look back]]

...Something the matter?

[Serph looks over at Bakura, then back to his hands again, still frowning as he flexes his fingers.]

Something is... different.

[shiromadoushi]

Different? You mean in how you feel? That can happen sometimes, when people first arrive... Did you have magic or something like that back home?

[fallengodrisen]

[Magic? Well that's part of it. There's also that whole turning into a demon issue.

Serph stares at Bakura for another long moment.]

The hunger is gone.

[shiromadoushi]

Hunger? [[blink blink. Vampire turned human, maybe? But how did you ask that sort of thing?]]

What sort of hunger?

[He doesn't answer this directly.]

I can't become a demon.

[Still flexing his fingers, as if this will do something.]

[[Which meant he could before? That's pretty awesome!

...but not appropriate for him to be fanboying out over at the moment. Even if he's not able to keep it from showing on his face.]]

A lot of times that sort of thing happens, since this world is different than the worlds people came from, a lot of things that worked back where everyone came from don't work here. It gets translated into Weapon and Meister abilities, since that how things like that work in this world.
