Morning Training

Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on March 29th.

Partner Training: Guidance on how to work as partners. Taught by Spirit Albarn; Eve and Keroro
Weapons Handling Training: How to handle weapons and Weapons. Taught by Death the Kid with Liz and Patty.
Shooting Range: How to shoot. Taught by Naoto Shirogane, Maes Hughes.
Meister Ability Helpers: Learning what your meister ability is and how to use it. Taught by Kanji Tatsumi, Miles Edgeworth.
Finding a Partner: An area for unpartnered Weapons and Meisters to mingle in. Overseen by
Meditation: This month's novelty class is on focus and meditating. Taught by Hyuuga Neji.
Medics: A place for the medics to linger, recruit, and help anyone that's gotten hurt. Helping out are CR-S01, Rosalia Rossellini.
Watch: A place for the watch members to linger, recruit, and train. Interested observers welcome!
SEES: A place for the SEES members linger, recruit, and relax.
Hug Brigade: Offering encouragement through hugs. Staffed by Maes Hughes, Maito Gai.

Speakin' of, they got online courses for this stuff. Closest school's a town or two over, they meet up twice a week. So whatever's more your thing, take yer pick.

[She gripped tighter, but he could read nothing else. They all but blazed through the first district, and would arrive in the residential quarter shortly.]

But they want a class n' some on-the-road experience before they test you n' give you that license. You get that bike fixed up, and I can take up the on-the-road no problem!

[Her always running mind is running faster, but she manages to rein it in. Fix.. yes. She has a new project to focus on.]

Well enough. [Naoto has that tone; she wants to speak to him again.]

[Oh, he knows that tone, and he's approaching an area with a little more traffic anyhow as they pull into the residential quarter. With so many pedestrians, pedal bikes and the occasional car, Kanji couldn't quite test Ziodyne's speed limit. The shift was smooth, and with a thumb accidentally brushing over her fingers he slowed down, waited for his chance to turn, and went for it.]

I'll ask the guys for that link to the online courses, then. The instructors kinda like to hear themselves talk, though... so put a little coffee or tea in your system before you read anything they type up. Y'know that phrase 'too long, didn't read'? Swear to god, they're the reason it exists.

[She doesn't mean to give him that tone, but she feels like she should. Naoto blinked when he brushed her fingers, but didn't say anything about it. Compared to the number of times they touched each other and in what ways, a small brush like that wasn't going to make her blush even if it did make her shiver faintly.]

I've never used that phrase personally, but I'll take your words into account.

[He shrugged. Kanji picked a seat in the back for a reason, and caught a few naps during instruction. He still managed to nab his license despite it, and there was no doubt in his mind that Naoto would ace the whole thing. He'd miss giving her rides like this, though...]

Home sweet home!

[Well, for the time being. He pulled into the garage and settled into a spot he always picked - away from other vehicles lined up a little crooked in their parking spots. He'd saved up way too much to have some other jerk's parking job scratch up his baby. Once parked, he powered the bike down and finally pulled the helmet up and off of him, taking a moment to fix his hair before retrieving the cabbie hat from the saddle bag.]

Either way, until then, we gotta keep polishing up n' hoping Shibusen can track down that last emitter. I was talkin' with Sheena the other day- one was underground, and one was up in a mountain... this last one's gotta have somethin' to do with the sky. They don't take up too much space, so couldn't somebody stick one on a blimp or somethin'?

[On that note and ergo? Was Kanji exaggerating or did she need to have a word with the professor already?]

[Once the bike was parked, Naoto stepped off as well and removed the extra helmet. She brushed some of her hair behind her ear after fixing the rest of the flatten mess.]

It's possible, but it would be something less obvious than a blimp.

[Does she know of anything that flies? She could've sworn she heard of something floating before. Was it in a previous conversation? If it was, with who?]

[He traded the hat for the helmet, stowing the protective gear away under the seat.]

Yeah, you're right. What about a plane? People pretty much ignore 'em since they see 'em every day. Nobody'd bat an eyelash if they stowed one somewhere with a ton of people on board.

[A blink.]

Huh, but they fly higher, so...

[She put her hat on and adjusted it. That was much better.]

Yes. That would be more trouble for them.

[Unless... but she digresses. Really, where would the last emitter be?]

Yeah. ...Damn it, where is that stupid thing?

[Well, he can make a hundred guesses and he still wouldn't figure it out. The scouts were doing the best they could to pinpoint its location, and they'd find it. Hopefully, it wouldn't be too late. The Witches have been rather quiet lately.]

Well, either way, I gotta wash up n' get ready for work. Death By Pastry wants me to run a few deliveries to the other side'a town since the other guy with the bike's out with a bad cold from the last mission.

[Yet... he was hesitant to do so.]

[They just had to leave it to Shibusen and their scouts while they focused on getting ready.]

[Naoto nodded, but paused. She took hold of his sleeve.]

... Kanji, promise me you'll be careful riding your bike.

[He blinked. For a moment, he wondered what brought this on, but wagered it might have been because of that bit of speeding he'd done earlier.]

H-huh?

[But after a pause, he nodded, not looking away from her. A hand went to cover the one over his sleeve. He had a clean record so far when riding the bike, but...]

...Yeah. I promise.

[...he understood her concern, especially in a place like this.]

[She squeezed his hand tightly, bowing her head]

[There was more to it than just dying here...]

[No Diarahan to fix up any injuries should he have a nasty spill, either. Kanji was just relieved his leg wasn't causing him trouble any more, though he still needed to thank Ramza and his Weapon Ability for the little kickstart.]

[But he canted his head slightly, looking a little confused.]

...Hey. I didn't scare you back there on the ride in, did I?

No, you didn't. When you mentioned car drivers being 'assholes', I remembered the mortality rate for motorcycle riders tends to be higher than that of a car driver.

[He blinked when she swore. She was quoting him, yeah, but it was still so strange to hear it in her voice. But he nodded.]

Y-yeah. We don't have a ton of metal to take the blow like cars do.

I'll be careful.

[She's going to refrain from that in the future... well, mostly.]

[She seems to be put at ease and nods without saying anything more]

[There comes a time in everyone's life where things must be summed up in one long f-bomb to blow some steam. Someday, Naoto, perhaps you will have that day.]

[Ah! Then he recalled something.]

Oh. Hey, Tifa's workin' late tonight. So, uh... y'know, if y-y'wanna come over later I can make dinner and we can pop in a movie or somethin'.

[Maybe. If she remains around you, it could be sooner]

Hmmm...

[What is her schedule like this evening? She doesn't believe she has anything to do.]

... Sure. What time should I come over?

[His stomach tried hard not to somersault in bliss. It was hardly nine in the morning!]

Very well. I'll see you then.

[She was more composed, but if her heart could stop hammering, that would be wonderful.]

[Okay, now it could go ahead and somersault! He had so much to do now, especially once he clocked out today. What could he make tonight...? Hmm.]

[He stooped and caught her cheek before they'd part ways.]
