Description: L looks like hell. More than usual. Cue Bakura worrying and acting as L's caretaker. Because someone has to...



Bakura had barely been home long enough to take off his shoes and set down his groceries (and new assortment of first aid supplies) before going back out into the hall to knock on the door across from his.

"Ryuzaki-kun? It's me... are you in?"

"...What?" Bakura blinked, looking at his friend in utter disbelief. "What does one have to do with the other....?"

[dead_black_eyes]

"They're expensive. No one buys them without some disposable income, is my point."

[shiromadoushi]

"Which is why you want me to buy them for you and you're just using this as an example to get what you want out of me..." Bakura countered. "Which has nothing to do with Keroro-san being a cheat or not."

[dead_black_eyes]

"It's very simple. I shouldn't have to explain it in such tedious detail."

[shiromadoushi]

Bakura sighed softly, leaning back in his chair and looking at the cards. "If you want something like that, just ask... don't accuse my friends of being like that to get it...."

[dead_black_eyes]

"That, on the other hand, might be too complicated to explain."

[shiromadoushi]

"...Try it."

[dead_black_eyes]

"Maybe later. I'm getting tired, admittedly. You understand that sometimes you have that effect on people."

[shiromadoushi]

"I could say the same of you," Bakura returned before sighing softly. "Did you want me to get you some of the expansion packs, if you're convinced you need a better deck to win properly?" he asked, changing the subject slightly.

"I think you're certainly welcome to, but my opinion of the game and the business model aren't likely to change. I'd dislike chess just as much if you kept having to buy better and better pieces."

[shiromadoushi]

"You don't have to... skill and luck are far more important than what cards you have. After all, even if you have the rarest of cards, if you don't draw them or know how to use them, you still lose."

[dead_black_eyes]

"Yes, but you're far more likely to draw those cards if you've purchased them, no...?"

[shiromadoushi]

... "Ryuzaki-kun do you honestly think that with that one card that I've won the game?"

[dead_black_eyes]

"It doesn't matter. I've lost interest."

[shiromadoushi]

Bakura sighed, leaning back in his chair. "The one time I get a good move against you..." he murmured unhappily. "I guess we'll just stick to chess, then..."

[dead_black_eyes]

"Your taste in games just needs to improve. It's a simple problem with a simpler solution, like so many of the things in your life."

[shiromadoushi]

Bakura almost made a face, a few responses coming to mind before he decided on which would get the least annoying response. "You pick the next one, then."

[dead_black_eyes]

"I choose tennis."

A game he knew he excelled at, for one.

[shiromadoushi]

And one that Bakura was rather poor at in return, as he was with most sports. "Is there a place we can do that here?"

[dead_black_eyes]

"Considering I turned Takuto into mincemeat when we played, I would think so, Bakura."

[shiromadoushi]

"Eh? You beat Takuto-kun?" Bakura exclaimed, eyes wide. "... then it would be a really one sided game...."

...not that he knew how well Takuto played, but Takuto struck Bakura as the sort of person who was good a sports. It was the confidence somehow....

"You can't be in such poor shape. Then again, you're young. Maybe you can get away with sitting around playing video games all the time and not exercising at all while not gaining weight and getting bad skin.."

[shiromadoushi]

... "There's a difference between not being good at sports and being in poor shape..." Bakura protested, unable to keep from making a face.

[dead_black_eyes]

"So, why are you bad at sports? There really should be a reason."

[shiromadoushi]

Bakura hesitated awkwardly. He'd never really given thought as to why he was bad at them... he just knew that he was.

"I just...never was any good at doing what was needed to be good at them." It was a lame explanation and he knew it. "I'm not especially strong or fast or anything like that."

Not to mention all the awkward social pressure that seemed to be far worse in gym class from the intimidating gym teachers to the crowd of fangirls who always seemed to show up to try and watch him....
