Description: L looks like hell. More than usual. Cue Bakura worrying and acting as L's caretaker. Because someone has to...



Bakura had barely been home long enough to take off his shoes and set down his groceries (and new assortment of first aid supplies) before going back out into the hall to knock on the door across from his.

"Ryuzaki-kun? It's me... are you in?"

"Yes, but you're far more likely to draw those cards if you've purchased them, no...?"

... "Ryuzaki-kun do you honestly think that with that one card that I've won the game?"

[dead_black_eyes]

"It doesn't matter. I've lost interest."

[shiromadoushi]

Bakura sighed, leaning back in his chair. "The one time I get a good move against you..." he murmured unhappily. "I guess we'll just stick to chess, then..."

"Your taste in games just needs to improve. It's a simple problem with a simpler solution, like so many of the things in your life."

[shiromadoushi]

Bakura almost made a face, a few responses coming to mind before he decided on which would get the least annoying response. "You pick the next one, then."

"I choose tennis."

A game he knew he excelled at, for one.

[shiromadoushi]

And one that Bakura was rather poor at in return, as he was with most sports. "Is there a place we can do that here?"

"Considering I turned Takuto into mincemeat when we played, I would think so, Bakura."

[shiromadoushi]

"Eh? You beat Takuto-kun?" Bakura exclaimed, eyes wide. "... then it would be a really one sided game...."

...not that he knew how well Takuto played, but Takuto struck Bakura as the sort of person who was good a sports. It was the confidence somehow....

"You can't be in such poor shape. Then again, you're young. Maybe you can get away with sitting around playing video games all the time and not exercising at all while not gaining weight and getting bad skin.."

[shiromadoushi]

... "There's a difference between not being good at sports and being in poor shape..." Bakura protested, unable to keep from making a face.

"So, why are you bad at sports? There really should be a reason."

[shiromadoushi]

Bakura hesitated awkwardly. He'd never really given thought as to why he was bad at them... he just knew that he was.

"I just...never was any good at doing what was needed to be good at them." It was a lame explanation and he knew it. "I'm not especially strong or fast or anything like that."

Not to mention all the awkward social pressure that seemed to be far worse in gym class from the intimidating gym teachers to the crowd of fangirls who always seemed to show up to try and watch him....

"I think it's just because you don't like moving, sweating, or being out of breath. Sex is going to be so difficult for you when you finally get around to it," L chuckled.

...sometimes Bakura wondered how much of Ryuzaki's often mentioning of sex was just him being him, and how much was because he knew it made Bakura uncomfortable.

"I'll worry about that if it ever happens..." he returned flatly. "And it has nothing to do with that..."

Mostly Bakura's discomfort, because L was such a good friend.

"Don't try to sell me that it's a hand-eye coordination issue. You're too good at video games."

[shiromadoushi]

"There's a difference between something on a screen coming at you and something real," Bakura pointed out. "But it's not anything like that. I'm just not very strong. Especially with this!" He raised his left arm, showing the scar on the back of his palm.

[dead_black_eyes]

"It wouldn't be for awhile. With my ankle the way it is, I can't exactly play tennis," L sighed. "I'll probably be just as easily winded as you by the time I recover adequately."

[shiromadoushi]

"It'll give me some time to practice first then," Bakura smiled, not even bothering to correct Ryuzaki. "And a good practice to get you up to speed after, ne?"

[dead_black_eyes]

"Perhaps it will even the score a little bit and make you less reluctant to play a game I'm all but guaranteed to win."

[shiromadoushi]

"..You always win, Ryuzaki-kun..." Bakura pointed out. "It never stops me from playing..."

[dead_black_eyes]

"Perhaps it is because you would not be able to play otherwise. You need to make more friends..."

[shiromadoushi]

"...I have plenty of friends...." Bakura pointed out. "I told you that winning or losing isn't what's important to me for games..."

[dead_black_eyes]

"Is that why you prefer games where there is no winner? Like your dragon game with the idiotic rules?"
