[Event] Invasion!
Characters: OPEN to everyone!
Location: All over Death City
Rating: Various
Time: February 2nd
Description: Witches have invaded and are attacking the city!
The attack, when it comes, happens quickly enough that Death City would have been caught flat-footed had there been no prior warning, but it's not completely unexpected because of the city's heightened state of alarm the past day. Warning sirens start sounding to alert the citizens and guests the moment a dark, slow-moving mass out in the desert to the south-east of Death City is spotted by Shibusen sentries. There's even time for civilians to run and hide before the mass is identified as an army of what looks like decaying, shambling corpses. The city's defenders are slow to move, however; most of them are distracted and are having trouble dealing with the black blood in their bodies. While agents are gathering to head out to deal with the zombie threat, that's when the witches make their move.
Portals begin opening in the skies above the city, disgorging hideous familiars: bulbous spiders and leggy ants the size of dogs. They drop hundreds of feet down into the streets and alleyways of Death City, and scuttle off in search of victims. The spiders are poisonous and can spin copious amounts of web to capture their targets, the ants spit acid that cause agonizing, paralyzing pain. Their masters bear down on the city in a cloud of black shadows--massive ravens strong enough to carry off adult men. There are five witches, women on broomsticks, beautiful if not for their crazed grins and obvious glee at the chaos descending upon the city. At some unknown signal--maybe the cackling from a couple of them--they dive in concert and disappear into different areas of the city.
Their masterful plan has begun!

“I, um…” She hadn’t really expected to run into someone so soon and she couldn’t exactly say that she was used to dealing with supernatural stuff. Failing to come up with a reasonable excuse, she tried changing the subject. “You shouldn’t be out either, I reckon.”

She frowned a bit. "You should probably go home and lock your doors." While she was willing to take risks herself, she tried to keep others out of the way of supernatural harm.

After a few moments, she pulled out a protective medallion she had made back in San Francisco. Cut from the branch of a fruit tree, the wooden disc was carved with ancient symbols of protection and inscribed in Aramaic; it hung from a colorful cord of braided silk threads.

"Sennen Ring... How...?!" he exclaimed, hand flying to his chest as the Voice in his head cackled loudly. "That shouldn't be here, it can't--"

“Are you okay, young man?” The pendant was still dangling from her hand as she reached towards his shoulder.

Oh. Wood, not gold. It wasn't even the right shape... How had he...
He let out a slow exhale. "S-- sorry, I thought..." he trailed off, shaking his head slightly. "For a moment, it looked... like something that I left back home," he attempted to not explain.
Sorry for the lateness!
Something he left at home? Well, that was weird. If he actually had some kind of protective medallion at home, she wasn’t sure why he would be scared of this one. “Are you sure you’re okay?” she asked again, thinking of what she sensed.
She held out the medallion to the boy. “And you really should take this.” Lily would have tried hanging it around his neck herself but didn’t want to risk another freaked out moment.
No worries!
Going out of town in the morning, back Monday!
“Better put that on,” she advised as she dug into her backpack again, this time pulling out a canister of table salt, and then stepped around Bakura. A circle would have been more effective if she could have brewed something specific for the situation but she had resorted to drawing a magic circle on a dusty floor before in an unexpected demon possession.
Have fun!
Thankfully he was utterly distracted by the salt circle. "...does that really work against zombies...?" he asked, curious despite his anxiety. "I thought it was just against spirits and things like that?"
But, of course, this stuff has no effect since her magic doesn't work here! ^_^;;
As the zombie slowly neared, she drew a pentagram within the circle around them, acknowledging the five elements of life at each point. Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit. Chanting, she pulled out some candles and quickly lit them and placed them around the circle. There should have been more but she was short on supplies.
Whoops

"Dag nab it!" Lily glanced at Bakura and tried to grab his hand as she backed away. "Time to turn tail and run!"

She is although I imagine any resonance would be weak with all the things she's hiding!
“A Meister? I don’t know.” Actually, she had slipped away during the soul perception part of the tour, worried they would realize she’s a witch.
Long as she doesn't block him out entirely, they can at least damage it, prob.

She grabbed her now empty salt canister and chucked it at the zombie’s head, hoping it would slow the monster down but it just bounced off.

Sorry! I need to proofread more! ._.;
No worries :)
They were so screwed...

“A weapon? You don’t exactly look like something I can pick up and swing at that zombie.” Even if she could pick him up, Lily thought she would probably end up doing more damage to the kid than the monster.
