[Event] Invasion!

Description: Witches have invaded and are attacking the city!

The attack, when it comes, happens quickly enough that Death City would have been caught flat-footed had there been no prior warning, but it's not completely unexpected because of the city's heightened state of alarm the past day. Warning sirens start sounding to alert the citizens and guests the moment a dark, slow-moving mass out in the desert to the south-east of Death City is spotted by Shibusen sentries. There's even time for civilians to run and hide before the mass is identified as an army of what looks like decaying, shambling corpses. The city's defenders are slow to move, however; most of them are distracted and are having trouble dealing with the black blood in their bodies. While agents are gathering to head out to deal with the zombie threat, that's when the witches make their move.

Portals begin opening in the skies above the city, disgorging hideous familiars: bulbous spiders and leggy ants the size of dogs. They drop hundreds of feet down into the streets and alleyways of Death City, and scuttle off in search of victims. The spiders are poisonous and can spin copious amounts of web to capture their targets, the ants spit acid that cause agonizing, paralyzing pain. Their masters bear down on the city in a cloud of black shadows--massive ravens strong enough to carry off adult men. There are five witches, women on broomsticks, beautiful if not for their crazed grins and obvious glee at the chaos descending upon the city. At some unknown signal--maybe the cackling from a couple of them--they dive in concert and disappear into different areas of the city.

Their masterful plan has begun!

[Other than Ryoki, who's in jail.]

Mm....

[He tilts his head a little, considering as he glances over at her.]

True. So you'll stick around awhile, yeah?

[When he's satisfied the spider's not going anywhere, he closes the distance between them, slashing at her now with the sword. He'll keep her here as long as he can then.]

[donttelldaddy]

[She really should see if she can find Leo...]

For a little while.

[toukakoukan]

[A little grin passes over his face. Apparently when he's high on madness, he's less self-conscious about 'flirting.']

That's enough.

[donttelldaddy]

But put that knife away. It ruins it.

[toukakoukan]

Oh? [He blinks at her, a little surprised, but he obediently sheathes the sword before holding out his hands in a 'well' gesture.]

[donttelldaddy]

[Lili looks around, to make sure there's no giant bugs or zombies close enough to interrupt. She decides the coast is clear enough, and runs towards Edward, throwing a strike at his head.]

[toukakoukan]

[Ed moves to duck it, swinging around to send a kick aimed towards her shoulder, his arm going up as a guard before his face. If they don't have long, he'll try to make it worth their while.]

[donttelldaddy]

[She takes the shot to the shoulder, thankfully, it's not the one she's only recently been able to take the bandages off of. Lili turns and throws a kick at his fleshier thigh.]

[toukakoukan]

[He's hit by it and stumbles back a little, but only for a moment before he swings back with his non-automail hand, trying to get her in the stomach with an uppercut.]

[Lili deflects his swing with her arm, and twirls backwards with a smile, as if this encounter were a dance instead of a fight.]

I've been at it for hours, you'll need more than that.

[toukakoukan]

Oh yeah?

[He drops down more to swing his leg out, trying to sweep her legs out from under her as she twirls.]

[donttelldaddy]

[She leaps over him, giggling, and ends up a couple yards away.]

I don't get tired, love, only stronger.

[It was the only thing she had willingly accepted from Shibusen and this world, her meister ability. The longer she fought, the stronger she became. It's in her advantage to drag it out even longer.]

[toukakoukan]

You'll only make me more determined with something like that.

[He rushes at her, trying to distract her with a punch so that he can grab her arm, attempting to drag her over to him.]

[The distraction works, and she blocks it only to get caught in Ed's grab. Her leg flies up in a kick to the back of his legs, hoping to catch a knee and knock him over.]

[toukakoukan]

[He loses his balance from the kick and goes down, but doesn't relent on his grip on her, dragging her down with him. With a small 'oof' sound as his shoulder hits the ground, he rolls quick to pin her, gritting his teeth slightly.]

[Lili's struggle to stop him is completely superficial. Sometimes, her fighting is just for show, because she doesn't want the effort to distract her from seeing everything her opponent has to offer. It's worth a little bit of abuse.

Her back hits the ground with a soft yelp, but she looks up at him with a smirk nonetheless.]

Edward, if you just wanted to see me like this, you could have asked.

[toukakoukan]

[For a moment, he's frozen as it kind of sinks in how they're positioned and her words. Then his face is flushed and he's back on his feet in a scrambling movement.]

That's--that's not what I...

[donttelldaddy]

[Lili giggles, but she doesn't waste any time, the second she's able to get up, she reaches to pull Edward's legs out from under him, and reverse their positions.]

[toukakoukan]

[He makes a sound as he crashes to the ground and another more surprised one when he realizes she's turned the tables on him. Gazing up at her with a slight glare, he raises an eyebrow.]

Does that mean you want to see me like this?

[And yes, he's still not quite able to stop blushing yet.]

[donttelldaddy]

[She smiles, pleasantly surprised that he doesn't dissolve into a stuttering mess like so many others did.]

Touché. But it mostly means that you're sloppy.

[toukakoukan]

Just as sloppy as you.

[He raises his arms up, left one going to her arm, his automail hand going loosely to her throat, not gripping but just holding there.]

[donttelldaddy]

[Edward's hand is cool and uncomfortable. It's different from what she's used to. His intent is neither deadly or romantic, and still she's caught in a vulnerable position. Unlike most things that are different, she's no interested at all, just caught off guard. The shock makes her pause before she slaps him away and brings her elbow down against his face.

Lili shakes his other hand off her arm and stands up, brushing herself off.]

Don't do that again.

[toukakoukan]

[With a wince, he holds his face where she elbowed him a bit, standing up and glaring at her. She of all people keeps him guessing, since he's has no idea anymore where her boundaries are.]

All's fair in a fight, isn't it...
