Description: Witches have invaded and are attacking the city!

The attack, when it comes, happens quickly enough that Death City would have been caught flat-footed had there been no prior warning, but it's not completely unexpected because of the city's heightened state of alarm the past day. Warning sirens start sounding to alert the citizens and guests the moment a dark, slow-moving mass out in the desert to the south-east of Death City is spotted by Shibusen sentries. There's even time for civilians to run and hide before the mass is identified as an army of what looks like decaying, shambling corpses. The city's defenders are slow to move, however; most of them are distracted and are having trouble dealing with the black blood in their bodies. While agents are gathering to head out to deal with the zombie threat, that's when the witches make their move.

Portals begin opening in the skies above the city, disgorging hideous familiars: bulbous spiders and leggy ants the size of dogs. They drop hundreds of feet down into the streets and alleyways of Death City, and scuttle off in search of victims. The spiders are poisonous and can spin copious amounts of web to capture their targets, the ants spit acid that cause agonizing, paralyzing pain. Their masters bear down on the city in a cloud of black shadows--massive ravens strong enough to carry off adult men. There are five witches, women on broomsticks, beautiful if not for their crazed grins and obvious glee at the chaos descending upon the city. At some unknown signal--maybe the cackling from a couple of them--they dive in concert and disappear into different areas of the city.

Their masterful plan has begun!

[The distraction works, and she blocks it only to get caught in Ed's grab. Her leg flies up in a kick to the back of his legs, hoping to catch a knee and knock him over.]

[He loses his balance from the kick and goes down, but doesn't relent on his grip on her, dragging her down with him. With a small 'oof' sound as his shoulder hits the ground, he rolls quick to pin her, gritting his teeth slightly.]

[Lili's struggle to stop him is completely superficial. Sometimes, her fighting is just for show, because she doesn't want the effort to distract her from seeing everything her opponent has to offer. It's worth a little bit of abuse.

Her back hits the ground with a soft yelp, but she looks up at him with a smirk nonetheless.]

Edward, if you just wanted to see me like this, you could have asked.

[toukakoukan]

[For a moment, he's frozen as it kind of sinks in how they're positioned and her words. Then his face is flushed and he's back on his feet in a scrambling movement.]

That's--that's not what I...

[Lili giggles, but she doesn't waste any time, the second she's able to get up, she reaches to pull Edward's legs out from under him, and reverse their positions.]

[He makes a sound as he crashes to the ground and another more surprised one when he realizes she's turned the tables on him. Gazing up at her with a slight glare, he raises an eyebrow.]

Does that mean you want to see me like this?

[And yes, he's still not quite able to stop blushing yet.]

[She smiles, pleasantly surprised that he doesn't dissolve into a stuttering mess like so many others did.]

Touché. But it mostly means that you're sloppy.

[toukakoukan]

Just as sloppy as you.

[He raises his arms up, left one going to her arm, his automail hand going loosely to her throat, not gripping but just holding there.]

[Edward's hand is cool and uncomfortable. It's different from what she's used to. His intent is neither deadly or romantic, and still she's caught in a vulnerable position. Unlike most things that are different, she's no interested at all, just caught off guard. The shock makes her pause before she slaps him away and brings her elbow down against his face.

Lili shakes his other hand off her arm and stands up, brushing herself off.]

Don't do that again.

[toukakoukan]

[With a wince, he holds his face where she elbowed him a bit, standing up and glaring at her. She of all people keeps him guessing, since he's has no idea anymore where her boundaries are.]

All's fair in a fight, isn't it...

[donttelldaddy]

If you're going to fight, then fight. Don't do it halfway.

[toukakoukan]

You're one to talk.

[He comes at her again then, not needing to be told twice, swinging forward with a kick with no intention of holding back on her.]

[donttelldaddy]

[She's about to turn around and leave when she notices that he's coming back for more. That isn't what she wanted, Lili doesn't fight mad. Not with friends, it disrupts her performance, and she respects them too much to offer anything less than her best.

That means she has to shut him down as quickly as possible. She catches his leg and pulls it out from under him, and when he falls, she keeps her boot firmly on the back of his head.]

That was for future reference, Edward. We're done here. I have places to be.

[toukakoukan]

[There's where they're different then, since Ed primarily only fights when mad, save for sparring practice. He goes down easily, too reckless to think straight anyway right now, gritting his teeth and struggling to get up. He won't go after her again once up though.]

You really are crazy, you know that?

[So says the boy crazed by madness.]

[donttelldaddy]

[She waits for a moment before she backs off, to let her point sink in a little deeper. When she steps away, she isn't particularly concerned with what he has to say.]

You're not the first person to say that.

[toukakoukan]

[He's done once she says they're done and turns from her now, raising a hand to wave off the situation.]
