[Event] Invasion!

Description: Witches have invaded and are attacking the city!

The attack, when it comes, happens quickly enough that Death City would have been caught flat-footed had there been no prior warning, but it's not completely unexpected because of the city's heightened state of alarm the past day. Warning sirens start sounding to alert the citizens and guests the moment a dark, slow-moving mass out in the desert to the south-east of Death City is spotted by Shibusen sentries. There's even time for civilians to run and hide before the mass is identified as an army of what looks like decaying, shambling corpses. The city's defenders are slow to move, however; most of them are distracted and are having trouble dealing with the black blood in their bodies. While agents are gathering to head out to deal with the zombie threat, that's when the witches make their move.

Portals begin opening in the skies above the city, disgorging hideous familiars: bulbous spiders and leggy ants the size of dogs. They drop hundreds of feet down into the streets and alleyways of Death City, and scuttle off in search of victims. The spiders are poisonous and can spin copious amounts of web to capture their targets, the ants spit acid that cause agonizing, paralyzing pain. Their masters bear down on the city in a cloud of black shadows--massive ravens strong enough to carry off adult men. There are five witches, women on broomsticks, beautiful if not for their crazed grins and obvious glee at the chaos descending upon the city. At some unknown signal--maybe the cackling from a couple of them--they dive in concert and disappear into different areas of the city.

Their masterful plan has begun!

[ The zombies would have been a new touch if Tenten arrived in Shibusen two days before the time she was currently from, but she's used to those too. At least they don't regenerate like the ones that do at home.

Tenten's voice sounds a bit hushed, but confused. She'll definitely note this for part of Santana's safety. ]

....What do colors have to do with anything?

[She smiles. It's a little forced, given the nervousness and tension of the situation, but she's no less amused.]

Nevermind. Joke you don't get.

[She looks around, without the slightest clue where they should start. But that's okay, stuff like that is Tenten's department.]

You'll turn into one of them if the zombies bite you. Or scratch you. Don't come in contact with their fluids.

There was a joke in there? [ She nervously grins. She doesn't know anything about the culture of Lima or her America. Tenten is alert and gets into a defensive stance. She observes some people fighting back against the spiders, the ants, and the ravens. She looks for what would be the easiest and the most effortless to kill. Santana's advice is very helpful. Tenten nods. ]

Huh. I sort of like our world's version of zombies better. They just flake into dust when you attack them and regenerate.

And you have to destroy the brain. [She takes a deep breath, and looks at Tenten. There can be different versions of zombies? Of course there are, any other way would just be too logical and helpful.] Let's just assume they're like mine and be safe.

Then I think this means I should use a club. [ And luckily, Tenten does have one in her backpack. She pulls out two and hands one to Santana. It looks like a swollen, spiked, bat. Tenten's plan is simple: swing like Tiger Wood's wife. ]

[Santana looks at the bat, not entirely sure what it's doing in her hand. Does she look like a Dawn of the Dead character? She sort of assumed Tenten would just wield her, even after everything that happened in Guatemala.

She clenched her teeth. This was probably for the best, until things settled down.]

What else do you have in that backpack, three days of rations?

[ Tenten would wield her, but she figures that everything is still on shaky ground between them. She wouldn't ask and put her on spot like this until she needed to. She doesn't want to risk anything. ]

A weapon of every type. [ Soft, bladed, blunt, hard. If there's a weapon type, she has it. ] If this isn't sufficient enough, then I'll wield you. First thing's first is that we should see just what type of zombies they are. [ She doesn't want Santana coming into contact with those fluids. ]

You really think you'll need it?

The bunch of weapons in my backpack or you?

Carrying around more weapons than we have arms.

[weaponry]

No, but it's always nice to have plan b. [ And C. And D. And the rest of the alphabet. ]

I thought plan B was use me.

[weaponry]

That's plan two. If it's apparent that real weapons suck and will only get us killed. [ Yep. She's certainly collected over this. ]

That's what plan B means.

Then you'll be plan B, and those other weapons will be sub-plans for A. [ ....she'll try to make sense of this somehow! ]

You're making this way more complicated than it needs to be. Whatever, let's just bash them in the face.

Right! Let's go! I'll remain close to you. [ She starts to move at a pace Santana would be comfortable with, but she is still moving quickly. Upon arriving into the mob, she takes a wide swing with her club, blasting the rotting, crumbling, zombies and a giant ant down the street. ]

[Santana thinks back to that time she tried softball in elementary school, and grips the club with two hands. She swings, and it connects against a zombie's head with a crack. Her jaw clamps shut to prevent a scream as the skull shatters, smearing blood and brains on the end of her club.

Santana steps back from it, holding a hand over her mouth. It's a lot more disgusting in real life than it is in movies.

She takes a deep breath, and refuses to puke.

[ Tenten glances over her shoulder as she bats right through a zombie's side. She doesn't even flinch at the gory scene. She quickly rushes over to her, batting zombies and evading a raven along the way. She notices Santana's horrified expression and once again blames herself for putting her into a position she wasn't quite ready for. ]

Santana! Are you okay?

Fine.

[She is, really. The fear is manageable, it's nowhere near as scary as Guatemala was. It's about the horrible stench that fills the air and becomes nearly unbearable when the monsters spill their guts, like cracking open a bad egg.

At least she was finding a new respect for Milla Jovovich.]

It's gross, but I'm fine.

[YOU SEE THIS STONE COLD EXTERIOR?]

Excellent! You're doing so well! I'm so proud of you! [ She knows that a zombie-corpse invasion would never have happened back at Lima. She's ecstatic that Santana has progressed and triumphed over a zombie. Tenten, is, for the most part pristine. She was hitting corpses in a way where they wouldn't spill their fluids. ] I swear, I had no idea how disgusting it'd be. [ SHE SEES IT. She also notices a zombie's shadow in front of her. Her face fades into a more serious expression. She turns around and smashes into its face with the club. ]

Relax, I'm not potty training.

[Santana hits another one, bashing it in the head the same as the first. A jolt of queasiness flashes through her stomach, but it's not as bad as last time.]

[weaponry]

Fine! Three more heads and you'll be completely at ease with yourself. [ Her statement easily implies that she knows from experience. She turns around starts to bat her way around the parade zombies. ]

[Three more heads, huh?

It's probably true, Santana thinks to herself. The next one isn't nearly as difficult to stomach as the first two were, but she screams anyway, because its hand grazes her arms while she's faced toward Tenten. She whips around with the club lightning-fast and cracks it with ease.]

Santana! [ She turned towards Santana once again, batting a zombie down without looking at a zombie. ] Why did you scream!? [ She's definitely concerned more than ever now. ]
