[Event] Invasion!

Description: Witches have invaded and are attacking the city!

The attack, when it comes, happens quickly enough that Death City would have been caught flat-footed had there been no prior warning, but it's not completely unexpected because of the city's heightened state of alarm the past day. Warning sirens start sounding to alert the citizens and guests the moment a dark, slow-moving mass out in the desert to the south-east of Death City is spotted by Shibusen sentries. There's even time for civilians to run and hide before the mass is identified as an army of what looks like decaying, shambling corpses. The city's defenders are slow to move, however; most of them are distracted and are having trouble dealing with the black blood in their bodies. While agents are gathering to head out to deal with the zombie threat, that's when the witches make their move.

Portals begin opening in the skies above the city, disgorging hideous familiars: bulbous spiders and leggy ants the size of dogs. They drop hundreds of feet down into the streets and alleyways of Death City, and scuttle off in search of victims. The spiders are poisonous and can spin copious amounts of web to capture their targets, the ants spit acid that cause agonizing, paralyzing pain. Their masters bear down on the city in a cloud of black shadows--massive ravens strong enough to carry off adult men. There are five witches, women on broomsticks, beautiful if not for their crazed grins and obvious glee at the chaos descending upon the city. At some unknown signal--maybe the cackling from a couple of them--they dive in concert and disappear into different areas of the city.

Their masterful plan has begun!

So only fluid to fluid contact is bad? [ Does this mean she no longer has to dodge every zombie liquid ever???? ]

In that case, let's fight together. [ She holds out her hand. ] It can't get inside of you if you're an inanimate object. [ Safety is her prime concern in these moments, after all! ]

Alright. [Santana takes her hand and transformed, the long, bladed whip now sitting in Tenten's hand, waiting to be used.]

[ Tenten gripped Santana expecting a feeling similar to last time, but, to her excitement, there wasn't the same feeling. Content, Tenten tries to match whatever resonance Santana is putting in, instead of an overwhelming amount of energy.

She twists her wrist and immediately drags the whip across a zombie, which takes him down immediately. She then takes a breath as she focuses on the rest of the enemies in the streets. ]

For what, not losing my shit?

[Santana is putting her all into it. Not only does she have to redeem herself, but a herd of zombies isn't something to take lightly. Most of all, this just feels right, it's warm and refreshing and good, and that far overrides any circumstantial emotions.

Glowing with new energy and determination, Santana's weapon form starts playing music, and the zombies stop what they're doing to listen, distracted just the same as their first Kishin egg was.]

For the second chance.

[ Tenten holds Santana firmly but makes sure not to clamp her too forcefully. The music to her, is one she'd never expect to come from Santana or her weapon form. The beginning notes of Reunited by Peaches and Herb begin to emit from the whip. Tenten, clearly confused, glances at the whip at first with a look that mirrors the zombies and their confusion before catching on. As the first verse starts, Tenten is already attacking the zombies, slicing off limbs and downing zombies left and right. ]

[Really? Santana wasn't nearly experienced with her weapon ability to control her song choice, but that was just embarrassing. Tenten wouldn't know the song, though, so at least she could keep that to herself.

She got over that feeling quickly, cutting through zombies and kicking ass made that part worth it. It felt good to know that she could work with her again, and she hadn't ruined it for good by letting her feelings get the best of her.]

[ Tenten's thoughts are definitely focused on the song. However, she seems to like the basic instrumentation even taking a brief moment between whipping zombies to reflect on how pretty it was. Santana, you gots some explainin' to do.

She continue to darts about, driving the whip through zombie after zombie. ]

[Since they're so distracted and slow, it's easy to handle them, and they go down quickly. After the last undead abomination falls (for good this time), the music fades.]

[ Tenten takes a look at whip before walking down the street. If she encounters something, she'll engage it. ]

What was that song? It... got really loud sometimes.

[ Nosy Tenten is nosy. She'll draw it out. Somehow. ]

Well, you know enough to teach me right? We can probably look up the rest of the lyrics together!

[ She cheerfully maintains her discussion with Santana as she slays all of the evils in Death City. Yep. This is her life as a ninja. ]

Sure, Tenten.

[And by that she means she will teach her a totally unrelated song that is actually good and doesn't make her seem like a character from one of those Mormon commercials.]

[ Tenten will continue to slay zombies until the end of time. She's none the wiser to Santana's plot to teach her an entirely different song. ]
