[OPEN] Earthquake Event

Description: OOC post here.



It's early in the morning -- just after morning training -- when the ground beneath Death City shakes violently in what most of you might recognize as an earthquake. It's not a particularly huge one for the more experienced of the guests, but it sends cracks shooting through the cobblestoned ground of Death City and up the sides of some buildings. A small handful of structures, mostly those that have been abandoned in the course of this war or the very old ones, take the most damage and topple over or crumble at their foundations.

The earthquake lasts no more than half a minute, but the vibrations and aftershocks last through the day. Death City's streets become full of holes, from those the size of apples to what could be described as deep ditches. The greatest damage, however, is the commercial sector, which becomes flooded as the waterways take damage and spill water into the streets. Shibusen's alarms blare out and quick, urgent orders to fix the waterways and search for the injured or anyone trapped in rubble filter in through all networks.

Hm...?

[To say he startles awake would be inaccurate; he's certainly startled enough to wake up, but lucidity returns only gradually as he realizes he's being shaken. It would also have been inaccurate to call it a nap at this point; it was the sleep of the dead, no more and no less.

When he tries to sit up straight, though, that wakes him up with a flinch -- everything didn't quite hurt like that before, and it also hurts to breathe. Oops.

Let's just... go back to leaning agains the wall, then. Sounds like a plan.

His voice is strained when he looks up again.]

It's... all right. This isn't... so bad an area, I think.

[Stupid Max, why'd you ask that? Of course he isn't alright. Look at him, he looked completely out of it!]

No, you ain't alright.

[He answered his own question out loud and properly turns his attention back to Allen slumped against the wall.]

You can't stay here, you gotta go somewhere where they'll tend to you properly! I'll take you there!

Huh...?

[As out of it as he really is, it takes him a moment to follow the conversation the man's holding halfway with himself. Once he's up to speed, though, Allen just shakes his head as emphatically as he can against the wall.]

There's no need for that. I only... need some rest for now.
