Description: OOC post here.

It's early in the morning -- just after morning training -- when the ground beneath Death City shakes violently in what most of you might recognize as an earthquake. It's not a particularly huge one for the more experienced of the guests, but it sends cracks shooting through the cobblestoned ground of Death City and up the sides of some buildings. A small handful of structures, mostly those that have been abandoned in the course of this war or the very old ones, take the most damage and topple over or crumble at their foundations.

The earthquake lasts no more than half a minute, but the vibrations and aftershocks last through the day. Death City's streets become full of holes, from those the size of apples to what could be described as deep ditches. The greatest damage, however, is the commercial sector, which becomes flooded as the waterways take damage and spill water into the streets. Shibusen's alarms blare out and quick, urgent orders to fix the waterways and search for the injured or anyone trapped in rubble filter in through all networks.

[Hm...it felt rather odd. It wasn't bad but Senritsu can definitely tell that this would not be a good partnership at all. Still, she does want to try get to know him a little bit better]

[He's not obtrusively prodding at her soul, at least. Turns her around in his hands until she's right side up.]

Too kind by half. [That's what he thinks Senritsu is.] Too kind it's almost simple-minded. But you aren't, are you? You think a lot, but carefully.

But of course. However, if you wish to think like that, then I don't mind.

[She's just curious what else he sees]

You don't mind a lot of things. Is it because you can normally hear people's heartbeats, figure out what they're thinking? It's easy to bluster when one's audience can only see the superficial, after all.

[taps her at the stem.] Do you know what your ability is?

[Pause] Yes, you are right and it can be difficult to know what they're thinking. However, it doesn't mean that I won't try.

No, I'm afraid not, which is why it would not be best to try it in a situation such as this.

It would be too boring if you didn't. Too easy.

[Is that an invitation? A permission, at least.] Are you sure? It'll require more resonance, and I barely know how to bring out a note or two.

You don't have to if you don't want to.

I'm saying that we shouldn't play it here.

But why not here? No one will notice. [Since hey, the earthquake already did all the damage.]

But we might make it even worse!

[Being cautious here!]

A little bit worse is nothing when the damage is already huge, though. [grin]

I refuse to believe that.

In addition, there could be people under the buildings. Any other sound would make it fall on them.

[scratches his cheek]

You're not very fun. Fine, then, shall we go and look for another spot?

I'm afraid that's the price I must pay for being responsible.

Yes, let's. Hopefully somewhere where isn't a lot of people.

What if your ability affects people? We wouldn't figure it out, then.

[He shrugs and starts jogging in the direction of the park, where he's certain there's plenty of flat space and no people.]

It's better than accidentally harming them.

[And then after looking around] I think this might be a good place, why don't you try it?

We could always just heal them... [He knows that Senritsu will never agree, though.]

[Kuroro blinked down at the flute, placed his fingers in the proper places (or so he thought, but he had a finger or two off), pulled Senritsu to his lips, and blew. On a normal flute, that would be a shrill sputter.]

[As he blew, she was wondering if the sound affected their surroundings. So far? Nothing has happened yet but he was playing rather softly]

Nothing seems to be happening. Can you play a bit louder?

[Obliges, and-- plays louder.]

[And still nothing happens]

Perhaps you were right, my abilities might affect people instead.

[blinks down at the flute, tries again one last time for justice.]

Do you want to look for people? [ : >...]

I'm afraid not!

I would prefer it that we do something like this during the morning training!

[laughs] I was only kidding.

But yes, of course. Morning training. Should I help you then or will you be able to acquire a more suitable meister?

It will be up to you if you want to or not. I don't mind either way.

I don't mind either way, either. [smile] But we might as well be... hmm. Friends, since you're Kurapika's and I'm his partner.

[HM...]

It seems like we might as well be. However, we are still enemies when we back.
