[OPEN] Earthquake Event
Characters: OPEN
Location: Death City
Rating: Varied
Time: Jan 22
Description: OOC post here.
It's early in the morning -- just after morning training -- when the ground beneath Death City shakes violently in what most of you might recognize as an earthquake. It's not a particularly huge one for the more experienced of the guests, but it sends cracks shooting through the cobblestoned ground of Death City and up the sides of some buildings. A small handful of structures, mostly those that have been abandoned in the course of this war or the very old ones, take the most damage and topple over or crumble at their foundations.
The earthquake lasts no more than half a minute, but the vibrations and aftershocks last through the day. Death City's streets become full of holes, from those the size of apples to what could be described as deep ditches. The greatest damage, however, is the commercial sector, which becomes flooded as the waterways take damage and spill water into the streets. Shibusen's alarms blare out and quick, urgent orders to fix the waterways and search for the injured or anyone trapped in rubble filter in through all networks.
ooc: Like always, please feel free to start your own threads. Follow the subject line format:

[She finally gets close enough and her tail wags at the welcoming pets. At his question, she nods before shaking out her fur a bit. There's just... that heavy feeling with water that she doesn't like for long like any other animal.]
no subject
He moves back with an amused noise when she starts to shake herself out, but doesn't bother to shield himself -- what's a few drops on top of the waterfall that is himself? Okay, maybe it's not that bad but it feels like it.
The children, though, are shrieking and laughing and dodging behind him and each other -- a couple of the more adventurous ones will eventually be venturing out to poke at the not-so-fluffy newcomer.
Allen, meanwhile, moves towards her carry-ons.]
Ah, these should do... Come here, please.
[He beckons to a couple of the ones hanging back; it's time to take care of all the minor scrapes and bruises in the little pack while the wolf distracts them. Ammy, you are pretty much a portable small child first aid kit. And may possibly become a jungle gym.]

It really is a good thing she's there as a distraction while he fumbles about.
Eventually, it's done, though -- and now we have a pack of children and wolf in the middle of a very wet district.]
Thank you very much, Amaterasu. Were you going somewhere?
[To be perfectly honest Allen's not completely sure where to go from here; the easiest thing to do is to hand the children off to an adult in the district, who might be able to return them at some point, but...]
no subject
[She fumbles for a moment, but then pulls out her communicator]
Not really. I'm just providing first aid and helping anyone who needs it.
no subject
I see. That does make sense.
[She moves faster than most of them, after all.
One of the kids on her back chooses this moment to emulate the wolf perfectly, and suddenly all of them are getting splashed again. There's a bit of squirming and tussling going on above you right now, Amaterasu -- look out for flailing elbows.]
no subject
Will you be alright handling them?
no subject
[If Amaterasu were not a wolf, but a human, there would be little to no hesitation there; Allen's one to rely on himself in a crisis, and there were always too many eyes in the palace.
But Amaterasu is what she is, and... aside from reminding him of the fact that he feels a little like the human equivalent of slush at the moment, that small incident back there also makes him realize that the kids are just as soaked through and cold as he is and that there most likely aren't good resources here for that, or for any injuries that aren't visible.
A small sigh. But, first things first--]
That's enough, now.
[Time to break up the party on her back. It doesn't get all the kids off, but at least the little group quiets down enough for him to get a word in edgewise.]
... Could I ask you to help me herd them to the clinic? [He's aware she's not a sheepdog, which is what that small gleam of humor in his eye is about, but his tone is calm as ever.] They shouldn't stay out here like this, and hopefully that is still safe.
[A questioning look here -- he's hoping she knows the state of the building, at least.]
no subject
[She puts her communicator away; no time to type and round up the kids. With them settled down, she trots around the kids, nudging against them with her tail swinging to gather them up before going forward and a nod.]
[This way, this way...]
no subject
[Although the children were lively before, now they're actually happy -- taking it as a game, playing tag with the wolf's tail and fighting for a ride on her back or a chance to walk by her head.
The mood is much better and the moving much easier, and Allen lets himself breathe easier as they move forward. It also helps that the children have stopped clamoring for a chance on his back; he's probably bruised a few ribs at some point and that's not too helpful an exercise.
If you look at him, you'll probably get a flash of a smile. He is glad you came by.]
no subject
[Allen better get himself checked up once they arrive at the clinic.]
tossing him clinic-ward later in the day c: so for now...
Between Amaterasu's herding and his improved knowledge of the city it's not long before they're arriving at the Horrorspital (he will never get used to this naming scheme).
Pausing in front of it to turn to the wolf--]
It was good of you to let us monopolize you for a while; I can probably take it from here, if you need to be elsewhere.
[Time to gather the kids, too -- most of them are reluctant to let go.]
Do not forget to thank Amaterasu, everyone.
[Is it time for a cheesy small child gratitude chorus montage? It's time for a cheesy small child gratitude chorus montage.]
Okay! See him then X3
[Once they're done, she doesn't say anything, but just rises to her paws and dashes off again.]
