Description: OOC post here.

It's early in the morning -- just after morning training -- when the ground beneath Death City shakes violently in what most of you might recognize as an earthquake. It's not a particularly huge one for the more experienced of the guests, but it sends cracks shooting through the cobblestoned ground of Death City and up the sides of some buildings. A small handful of structures, mostly those that have been abandoned in the course of this war or the very old ones, take the most damage and topple over or crumble at their foundations.

The earthquake lasts no more than half a minute, but the vibrations and aftershocks last through the day. Death City's streets become full of holes, from those the size of apples to what could be described as deep ditches. The greatest damage, however, is the commercial sector, which becomes flooded as the waterways take damage and spill water into the streets. Shibusen's alarms blare out and quick, urgent orders to fix the waterways and search for the injured or anyone trapped in rubble filter in through all networks.

Oh, exactly like that! There's a lot going on around here though so that helps out a lot. I mean, it's not really the most ideal stuff to deal with but at least it's something. Think I'd go crazy if I was just stuck here waiting for things to happen.

[What is patience, Kotetsu will never know.]

Not the type who deals with quiet moments very well? [[guesses with a small smile, thinking of one of his friends back home]]

Not even if I tried. ...well yeah I try but, I'm not that good with quiet.

[The most obvious statement ever spoken.]

One of my friends back home's like that. If things get too quiet or boring he gets really agitated and normally winds up causing trouble. [[a bit of a fond smile there]] He really shines when there's something he can run after and challenge. [[Even though he had been on the verge of passing out, he did remember Jounouchi yelling at someone trying to get to him... With all the times that his friend had snapped at him, it was a warm though to think of someone else getting that in his defense.

Followed by a small pang of homesickness.]]

[There is the slightest grimace as the kid mentions the whole 'causing trouble' thing. Yup, Kotetsu's more similar then he even knows. However this isn't the best impression to give off so realizing that Bakura seems to be heading off in a touchy emotional direction Kotetsu coughs to get his attention and huffs, crossing his arms over his chest.]

Well you won't find me causing trouble! Being loud isn't about that anyways, it's just about finding ways to occupy your time and keep things going, y'know? When times get tough and some people are busy wanting to sulk and panic, the person that helps out the most is the one that gets their minds off of that by speaking up! You don't get anywhere by not saying anything.

The louder the better, because you can't worry about stuff when you're too busy being told that everything'll be alright. [Kotetsu pauses and tips his hat up to look up thoughtfully at the sky.] ...yeah, that works. That sounded really good actually.

I would have thought the person acting rather that just speaking would be the one helping out the most, [[returns with a bit of an impish smile before looking down with a bit softer of an expression]]

Sometimes just being told that sort of thing doesn't really help, especially when it doesn't look like things will be. Just being loud and saying the same thing over and over... sometimes I think it just makes things worse. [[a very faint laugh]] Even though it's not meant that way. Hearing "I have a plan," or "Trust me," I think is far more reassuring than just "It'll be okay," and "don't worry."

[[Not.. that he was very good with that himself.]]

[Huffing as he upturns his nose a little, being a bit too proud of ridiculous things again.]

I'm good at both so, that takes care of that problem for me.

[His showiness only lasts for so long as he listens intently to everything else, understanding exactly what he means but finding it hard to sympathize completely. Kotetsu's never known how to not say things that other people wish to hear, whether out of his limited optimism or just his abundance of hope for the best. His work as a hero has definitely shaped his attitude toward people but deep down he knows that everything he says, he means with the bottom of his heart, even if things feel hopeless.]

I dunno... I kinda think it's all the same. I mean, yeah it's different to just hear someone tell you things are gonna be okay aside from, "Trust me, it'll be okay". But I think if you're willing to put that much faith into making the best of the worst, why not go for it? Not everyone's that good with words. Hell, I'm one of those people.

I don't say things just 'cause I wanna say them. I say them because I mean them. And I do everything I can to make them true. So if I tell someone things like that, it's because even though they might not think it's possible, I'm going to make them possible with everything I've got.

You really think so? [[blinks at that. In Bakura's mind, just being told not to worry rarely was helpful at all. If anything, it made him worry even more in some cases!

... but he guessed it was different if it was someone like Yuugi (or even really Vash, here) saying it, rather than Jounouchi yelling it at him (though he was sure Jounouchi didn't mean it in a bad way. It was just... Jounouchi being Jounouchi, that was all.)]]

Of course I do! I mean what I say, remember? ...or is it "say what I mean?" Something like that.

[[A soft laugh]] I guess I never thought of it that way... [[Especially considering how often he just told people that something was fine just to get them to not worry about him.]]

Well now you do! Never too late to learn something new, especially at your age.

Un, that's true. [[smiles warmly he slows to a stop outside the apartment building, looking over with a warm smile]] Thanks for the escort and conversation.

[His voice gets a little firm for a second as he sets his hands on his hips. One last lecture.]

Now I better not catch you out here on your own again anytime soon, or at least while things are as messy as they are. Got that? I'll just end up carrying you back! Even with the whole place shaking around!

[[rubs the back of his neck, feeling a bit sheepish]] I'll be sure to have someone with me [[said with a small smile and a nod]]
