EVENT: Retake the City

Description: There are Kishin eggs in the city. Like, everywhere. They've pretty much taken over and we can't have that, now can we?



Early in the morning, the sandstorm finally began to fade. By noon, it was gone completely, leaving behind far too much sand for comfort. The city is not in the best shape, having taken damage from the elements as well as the Kishin Eggs that are crawling all over the place, who seem to have made this place a new home.

They could move under the sand (and were quite fast when they did) and the fact that apart from their mouth the rest of their orifices was quite small it's clear that they were built to move like that. There's also the pesky fact that the city has buildings and alley ways they can hide in. The fact that Death City is layered like a cake is also a problem as it creates a lot of place for an enemy to jump down and ambush unsuspecting victims.

Of course, it's easy enough to repay in kind.

Either way, the familiar streets of Death City is now a battleground and the objective? Take back the city.

[so it might have taken him a little longer than he wanted, but he managed to find firecracker. of course with the help from valentine, if she didn't help he would have probably died during his search. well, that's exaggerating it a little. but he would have gotten hurt nonetheless. but anyway. now that he had the dog in hand he made his way back to fatality condominiums. this would be so much easier though if he hadn't over done it though. but he'll trek on through, mostly because if he does find a place to rest he'll stay there and pass out. and that would be stupid.]

[Takuto, on the other hand, is still worried about Ryou but at least he's got that sorted out as best he can for now. It had been quite a surprise to see Jasper lurking through the sand, but he'd recognized Sugata's cat quite easily. Jasper had been a little difficult to catch--the animal didn't appear to be concerned by his environment and was happy to pounce around in the sand, no doubt looking for tiny Kishin eggs or maybe just mice.

It's a little concerning that Jasper was out, though, and makes him wonder if Firecracker is safe. If there was damage to the apartment enough that Jasper escaped, who's to say his doggy isn't lost and wandering the streets of the city, cornered by the last few roaming Kishin eggs....

So with the reluctant kitty in his arms, he picks up his pace on his way to Fatality Condominiums. Until, of course, he hears Firecracker's familiar barking, at which point he starts running.]

[he looks down at the squirming puppy dog in his arms.] Sssh, Firecracker.

[but the dog isn't having any of it. he breaks out of sugata's loose hold and bounds past the other teen and down a random street. sugata's shoulders sag as he sets after the energetic pup quickly. or well, as quickly as he can at least.]

Firecracker!

[this would be the second time the dog has done this on his way back. the first was him breaking free to pee on a random street sign- and oh. guess he needed to pee again.]

[As Firecracker hits puberty, he's going to start peeing on a lot more things, you know. But for now, he's not running to mark his territory, he running because he smelled a familiar person!

Takuto hears Sugata's shout just as Firecracker comes bounding down the street towards him. The dog of course makes Jasper somehow struggle and cling tightly with his claws.]

Firecracker!! [He does his best to ignore the cat ripping his shirt and then jumping to safety as he crouches down and gets bowled over by his labrador. The dog is pretty much trying to give him a hug and lick his chin and wagging his tail so hard he can't stand up.] I missed you, too, buddy. [And the dog gets a happy squeeze in return before Takuto sits up and looks around. Jasper is nearby, licking a paw and trying to seem aloof from the touching reunion between boy and dog. And... yep, there's Sugata, coming around the corner as Firecracker had done. Takuto waves.] Sugata!!! I found your cat!

[well it's a good thing he no longer lives with takuto. he'd hate having his things peed on by a dog. this is why cats are superior, ok???

he's still not very familiar with dog barks, so he does pick up his pace a little as he rounds the corner. it would be horrible if the other dog got into trouble so quickly. but relief washes over quickly as he sees that he's just.... trying to give his owner a hug. is.... is he eating takuto's face off?? oh- oh no, he's just licking it off, okay. he can deal with that, he supposes.

when sugata gets closer jasper meanders his way over and sits next to sugata comfortably. he nods his head at takuto before he doubles over and rests his hands on his knees.] Thank... Thank you Takuto. I'm sorry, I opened- [he is trying his hardest to cover up his panting, but boy is it failing.] opened the door and they got out. Where'd you find him?

[tauborn]

[Firecracker is still house-trained! You'll just have to watch out for every bush in the park, every fire hydrant, every signpost....

Takuto gets to his feet quickly as Sugata doubles over. Has Sugata been chasing Firecracker around the city for hours or something? He places a hand on his friend's shoulder as Firecracker leans into his leg. Now that they are together, the puppy doesn't want to be separated from him no matter what!]

He was playing in the sand, or something, over by the shopping district. Are... are you okay? [He's going to help you to stand up straight, and offer a shoulder to lean on.]

[he could still pee on everything you love, takuto. so.... be careful.

he takes a deep breath before standing back up.] I'm... fine for the most part. I just think yesterday took a lot out of me. [usually he wouldn't accept takuto's help, but not today. he will gladly lean on takuto.]

[tauborn]

[He nods. Maybe he shouldn't have been so reckless with their new version of the King's Pillar. Even back home on the island, the move hadn't been designed for everyday use. Takuto hasn't forgotten the deep sleep that Sugata fell into after apprivoising for the first time.]

Let's head home, then. [Now that all the animals have been collected, and the people, too.] Y-your home, I mean. [Since they really aren't that far away, either. He helps Sugata along pretty easily. Although the constant fighting of the past day or two hasn't been easy, he's managed to sleep well at night. He'll probably have a few new spots of soreness tomorrow after partnering up with Eren, but for now everything's alright. All of his friends and pets are safe, even if there were a few close calls.]

[he nods his head as he rests more of his weight against takuto. he places a hand on takuto's shoulder and grips it lightly.] I don't care who's home we go to, so long as I get to sleep on a soft surface.

[he is a little concerned about using this new.... ability here, but he doesn't feel exhausted to the point of wanting to slip into a coma yet. so.... he's going to pray this thing didn't come with that side affect. also, as they continue walking on, sugata maaaay or may not (read: he is, he totally is) be falling asleep. this is an all new for him!]

[Takuto grins a little, happy that he can take care of his friend when Sugata seems to be feeling so exhausted. Firecracker and Jasper trail along behind them, and in no time at all he's pushing open the door to the apartment, letting Firecracker nudge through first, and then shuffling Sugata in and standing just inside for a few moments trying to coax Jasper in. The cat takes his time.

It's time enough for Takuto to suddenly realize that Sugata is really tired. He might even be... asleep?]

S..Sugata...?

[you're doing a good job takuto! you haven't dropped him yet. also he'd be sorry about his cat if he were conscious. jasper is as fickle as his owner sometimes. whoops. though it makes sense as to where he got it all from.

his head lulls to the side.]

Mmm?

[tauborn]

[... He really is asleep. :|

Carefully, Takuto more or less drags his friend upright to the nearest place to lie down, which happens to be the couch. He's not even sure which bedroom is Sugata's anyway, so the couch will have to do. And somehow when he shrugs Sugata gently off his shoulder, he winds up still somewhat pinned by his sleeping friend. He could, of course, wiggle out and to freedom, but on the other hand...

A sleeping Sugata....

If only he had a sharpie. It's really not so bad, just sitting here. And he might be looking forward to the embarrassed look on his friend's face when he wakes up and realizes he was carried home asleep. At least there's a book within reach.]

[he sure is. at least he didn't fall flat on his face, but hey! he's got you to thank. bestest best friend ever. feel privileged, because it's a title he doesn't pass on to just anybody. when takuto makes himself comfortable, he wiggles his way up to the other and, dare i say it. snuggles a little next to takuto. he uses takuto's leg as a pillow. nice pillow.

good luck trying to move from here on out. except no, he gets at least a good half hour nap in before he wakes up again. so enjoy it while it lasts pillow friend.]

[There's something very soft about Sugata's sleeping face, and despite the fact that there's a book he can read he finds himself just staring at Sugata for a bit, brushing his friend's bangs out of his eyes very gently. Now that the storm's let up and Firecracker has spun in a few circles before settling at Takuto's feet, it's very calm and quiet in the big apartment. Sugata isn't uncomfortable, after all, and Takuto's very well aware that Sugata wouldn't be able to fall asleep like this unless he felt absolutely comfortable.

So Takuto will stay, pick the book up after a few minutes, and then stumble his way idly through the first chapter until Sugata wakes up.]

[he definitely doesn't seemed bothered whenever takuto brushes the stray hairs out of his face. in fact he kind of keeps slumbering on peacefully. this is a side he only shows his closest friends, those who matter the most to him. those he'd give his life up for.

when he finally comes to he sits up slowly and rubs his eyes.] .....Takuto?

[And he puts the book down pretty quickly because it was kind of boring, and Sugata being awake is much more interesting.]

Still here, sleepyhead.

[He's going to be kind for about ten more seconds before he turns to teasing, so enjoy it while you can.]

Did I just.... [oh god this is mortifying. he can't even bring himself to finish his sentence.]

[Takuto nods.]

You don't even remember going through the door, do you.

[peacocked]

[he shakes his head.]

I don't even remember making it to the complex.

[tauborn]

Then you don't remember that you owe me a hundred deathdollars, either.

[Obviously.]

[really. s i g h s.]

I'm sure I would have remembered that conversation.

Then maybe you'd better look in the mirror.

[All he'll see is a crease on his face from Takuto's pants, but he's hoping Sugata thinks he drew on him.]

[he touches his face. if you drew on his face there will be words, takuto. and of course he checks the mirror.]

Oh.... real funny.

[tauborn]

[He giggles a little. Sugata probably would have woken up from the feel of the pen, of course. And then Takuto would have been in trouble. But no, Sugata is perfectly fine.]

You seemed to sleep pretty well.

[peacocked]

[he nods his head.] I got a decent nap in. I'm not sure which day has been the most exhausting. Because it feels like they've both been equally. How did you fair today?
