Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on June 29th.

Weapon Trasformation

[ Goodness, this is exhausting. And Trucy always thought she was pretty physically fit - she likes gym class. But it's not like she's ever transformed into an object before, she supposes. Every attempt feels odd and uncomfortable and she still can't quite get there - not that she even knows where there is.

And it's so dang hot. She's pretty sure that doesn't help.

One more go? Or should she take a break? She wipes sweat from her brow and exhales. Break. Definitely a break.

So she stops at the edge of the area and watches for a while, squatting down to catch her breath as she tries to get some idea from watching others.

... And half a minute later, she topples off balance. ]

[Being a Meister, Lily doesn't really know how the whole transforming thing works. But as she's passing by with a rolled up garden hose, she sees the girl fall over and stops, extending a hand to help her up and asking in a Texas accented voice...]

Are you okay?

[And running a clothing shop, she can't help notice her unusual attire. The big blue top hat and cape. Kind of made her think of a stage magician.]

[ D'oh, that was silly. Trucy grumbles under her breath until she notices the hand. ]

Huh? Yeah, I'm fine. [ As if to accent that, she taps her hat, sticking out her tongue in a "silly me" expression.

... And then she notices the hose. ] What's the hose for?

[Hopefully, the hose doesn't disappear with how hot it is today!]

Oh, I was fixin' to water the plants. My name's Lily and I'm the gardener here. Are you new around here? [She didn't recall seeing the girl before. She would have remembered the hat and cape!]

[ Maybe Lily should water the people. They're all wilting. ]

Yep. My name's Trucy! [ She smiles and offers her hand to shake. ] Did you do that at home, too? [ Hm, she wonders if Lily would have any advice on watering Mr. Charley. He's been looking pretty bloated lately. ]

[They do look kind of wilted. Lily wonders whose idea it is to continue holding these training sessions out here with these temperatures!]

Nice to meet you, Trucy. [She shakes Trucy's hand, returning the smile.] Kind of. I was a shopkeeper back home but also enjoyed gardening. Grew a lot of plants out on my terrace. [So, yes, she does know a lot about watering potted plants!]

Oh, really? Daddy put me in charge of our plants at home! [ She looks proud as she says this, puffing out her chest a little. ] ... Well, our plant.

Yes. Mostly herbs and a few fruit trees. [Lily smiles at how proudly she mentions being in charge of the plants.] Oh, what type of plant is it?

Um... It's a Mr. Charley. [ She has no idea. Daddy couldn't even tell her. ] Daddy only really knows what roses look like.

Um... it's kind of green and leafy? [ wow this exceptional description. ]

Um, Mr. Charley? You named your plant? [Kind of strange but she supposed it could have been from when Trucy was younger.]

[And, yeah, it's not very descriptive...] I take it y'all have had this plant for a long time then? Many plants will have a little tag telling you what type they are and how to care for them when you buy them.

[ She nods. ] I think it's older than me. But it gets bloated really easily now. [ pout ] I don't want it do die!

Older than you? I guess your dad must have bought it long ago then.

[She can't really guess what type of plant it is from that vague description but...] How often do you water it and how much? Too much water can be bad for plants, too.

[ Hmm... ] Maybe every other day? ... I think Polly keeps trying to water it too.

Polly? Your sister? [She's guessing from the feminine sounding name.] It could be too much if she's also trying to water it and if you already give it a lot. Some plants like their soil to be drier.

[ Trucy nods at the advice and then realises... whoops, she forgot to explain Polly. ] No, that's Apollo. He works at the Agency.

Apollo? As in the same name as the Greek god? [His parents must have had unusual tastes in baby names!]

Um, but doesn't he mind about that nickname? [Since it makes it sound like he's supposed to be a girl...]

[ nodnod. magicians are weird with names ]

Um... nope! [ liar. he totally complained. ]

Huh? Really? Even with Polly usually being used as a girl's name? [Or as the name for the proverbial cracker-loving parrot...]

... He's pretty girly anyway. [ She taps her chin and realises what she was going to ask. ] What kind of shop did you have back home?

Oh, I ran a vintage clothes store back home. I started one here, too. It's called Yesterday's Magic.

[ Oh you said the word.

You. Said. The. Word, Lily. ]

Magic? So you're a fan? Oooh, do you sell capes there? What about top hats?

[Lily did know quite a bit about magic, knowledge she tried to keep hidden, but it probably wasn't the type of magic Trucy was thinking of.]

...Um, not exactly. But I take it you are. [It would explain the costume...]

I haven't got any capes right now but there's a top hat or two. I often tell my customers when their clothes change, they also change. Um, kind of like magic...

[ They also change? Whatever could that mean...! ]

Really? How do they change? Do they change into whatever the clothes are? [ She could become a swashbuckling pirate? Or a rockstar? ]

Yeah, Lily coincidentally has an assistant named Maya in canon, too! XD

Oh, I don't mean it like that! Even if some of the teenage girls who come into the shop still like to play dress up. [She laughs, explaining...] But wearing something that flatters you can give a confidence boost or make you feel better.

That's why I named the shop Yesterday's Magic. Well, that and it didn't seem right to call it Aunt Cora's Closet without Maya, Bronwyn, and Oscar around.
