EVENT: From beneath the earth came Death himself

Description: Something bursts from down below.


The tremors have kept going on and off for a day now. By noon, the alarms sound, to warn for the Kishin Eggs coming closer to the city.

People had been warned in advance though, so this isn't a surprise.

The ground suddenly bulging has turned into a somewhat normal thing since yesterday too.

What no one expected was for the bulge to get larger and larger until two figures burst from the ground...and a wave of Madness, sudden and potent and nearly overwhelming struck the city. The Kishin Asura has entered the city from below and on top of that, the Kishin Eggs begin to invade the city.

Luckily, someone else had returned from the deep to help.

((OOC: There will be a separate thread for those who'd like to interact with Shinigami-sama going up. Remember, when Asura bursts from the ground, character powers will be temporarily unlocked but they will also suffer from Madness.

[The invisible blades and winds pushing the eggs back, Amaterasu flipped down from the building and landed on all fours, grinning. Silly eggs; keep coming this way if they wanted, but she would get rid of them just as fast and push them back to the hole from whence they came.]

[Growling, she blinked when being addressed and turned to see Sion. Uh, her partner wouldn't mind, right?]

[Sion tapped her feet a couple times before answering. It really felt odd talking to an animal.]

...you can use a weapon, correct?

[She stared for a minute, but then nodded. Yes, she could.]

....right. This may be a little difficult.

[Despite her reservations at working with an animal, Sion transformed. She turned into a sword with an eye on the hilt, her death-scythe form. She simply hoped that the wolf would understand her logical mind and work with it, making for a ferocious team.]

[Difficult is what Sion thinks, but this will be easy enough. Sword onto her back, it hovers. Amaterasu's own soul ability and strength is already three-star ranking even if a few points short of full Meister status. Her open mind was ready for action. The bright female soul grinned.]

Let's clean up then, Sion. I'll find Akiha once the path is clear.

[Her surprise was pretty obvious. Mostly because she didn't expect any type of dialogue other than growls, whines, and barks. But she didn't actually take any time to gather her wits. Part of her brain could do that. The other part could respond perfectly fine.]

Understood. Shall I inform you of any basic abilities while you do your work?

If you don't mind. I can hold them off as you instruct me.

[Literally, a cherry bomb appears before several eggs' faces as her ears flick. It blows up, hailing down confetti as they fly back.]

Alright, go for it.

The most obvious is the ability to predict the future for a short period of time. As for the other, short bursts of super speed is something I can manage if there is a good resonance.

[Or in some cases, an emergency.]

Glimpses of the future and speed. Alright. I can work with those... I had a Weapon briefly capable of doing the same though he's no longer here.

[Anyway, if that was it, she took a stance, fur rising and soul energy igniting. Nothing above a warm spring light, but it could always quickly boil to summer. She broke into a run pursuing eggs, lips curled back and fangs flashing. No matter the size, she was going to bring them down and cut them to pieces.]

[Sion took the back seat but that didn't mean she remained relaxed. No, she kept her eyes open in places her current partner couldn't watch. No sense in focusing too much on the fight and getting blind-sided by a sneaky creature. Sion could easily split her focus, just to make things safer.]

[Good idea. When one becomes busy cutting through Kishin eggs and that scent invades the nose, it makes it hard to smell enemies approaching. Still, she's doing fine so far dicing them up with Sion.]

[Maybe being a wolf did have its advantages. It presented a little more power and a lot less vulnerability to falling over.

Sion wasn't envious but she could certainly recognize a merit when it was given due.

But...]

To the left, 76 degrees.

[That was an incoming enemy.]

[76 degrees left huh? Her left ear flicks, but she slices down the egg trapped in her fangs before turning, meeting a swinging claw with blade and cutting through the knuckle. She ducks beneath it, tripping the egg as she plants herself, sword pushing into its stomach and out just before she bucks it off her back with a rough kick.]
