EVENT: Battle Against the Kishin Adachi

Description: It's time to bring down the Kishin Adachi, once and for all!



Matsue was once a lovely city and a nice place for tourists to visit.

It is now a ghost town.

Some lucky citizens had managed to escape the city before things got really bad, but they are the minority. Even fewer still are those who stayed and are still alive.

Most of them are dead, or worse, they had been driven mad by the Madness the Kishin Adachi exuded and killed their fellow citizens and consumed their souls, becoming Kishin Eggs. To make matters worse, sometimes when you're fighting you'll hear the distant rattling of chains and some primal part of your soul knows, something wicked this way comes.

And then there's all the Yellow Fog...

Only those who persevere will make it to their final destination: the Adachi Art Museum where Adachi is.

It will not be an easy fight, but in order to prevent the fate of this city from befalling on another, everyone will need to try.

Not actively? What was he thinking of? Volcanoes erupting and the lava swallowing up villages?

But she felt the poke and peered through the mist, trying to make out the enemy. The carnivorous painting leaped out at them but she was ready and slashed at the canvas.

There's more to it, but she didn't need to worry about it.

There is was, and down it already fell. Kyubey tilted his head with his ears flicking once. Considering they were near the Kishin, some of these Kishin eggs were not so difficult. However, both ears rose with the tufts following and he turned his head.

She wasn't sure which was more pathetic, the ridiculous form this monster took or how easily it crashed to the ground after a slice from her blade. Still, it tried to bite at her ankle as it climbed back up and she hacked at the frame.

Morgan was distracted by the kishin egg but maybe Kyubey realized there was something else ahead in the fog. A sad-looking figure with yellow eyes that resembled the pirate hunter, too busy looking dejectedly at the ground to pay any mind to them yet.

Kyubey didn't watch Morgan continue to whack the painting. Instead, he was focused very much on the figure looming in the darkness, head tilting. Ah, the closer they got, the more it appeared to look like her.

"So that's one of the other selves from that exercise?" Kyubey didn't hide things so this was his first time witnessing the event.

The canvas had a few more slashes through it and one more reduced it to ribbons that curled into black smoke and left a soul behind.

"What are you talk—" After collecting the soul, she finally noticed the other person in the fog and rolled her eyes. "Ugh, not that wimpy thing again!"

The Shadow didn't seem much interested in them, kicking at pebbles lying on the ground.

Devouring the soul as usual, Kyubey tilted his head as he chewed.

"That's right. You attended the training." Swallowing, he blinked. He watched the Shadow for a while, but then glanced back at Morgan. "Too proud to accept it?"

[pirateninja]

"Why? It's not even doing anything. Just moping around. Let's just keep going."

She moved to go around the Shadow, finally prompting her double to look up and speak.

"Even you're going to leave me? People always do. They all run away from me."

[neverlied]

Kyubey gazed upon the Shadow with his usual unmoving grin from the gem.

"Are you running away?"

The question was directed at Morgan because, leaving her Shadow was running away.

[pirateninja]

"Well, I don't have time to babysit that pathetic thing if that's what you're asking!" She huffed impatiently.

The Shadow just looked sad and rubbed at the tattoo on her arm that read "Gus." "Since Gustavo, all I know is to kill and drive people away. There's no one to betray me again but I don't have any friends either."

[neverlied]

"That's right. You should have dealt with this half earlier."

Kyubey didn't seem concerned about Morgan continuing to push her Shadow away. Humans and there emotions; hiding how utterly alone she is when it was a fact all humans were always alone. Single space entities that believed themselves to have company all the time...

[pirateninja]

"Whatever. I'm leaving."

"Wait, don't go!" The Shadow grabbed for the real Morgan's arm.

"Let go!" With a swing of her elbow and a kick, the pirate hunter knocked her double onto the ground where its face began to distort in a grotesque way.

[neverlied]

"Hm..." It was having a curious reaction the longer Morgan tried to escape. His tail curled into a question mark.

"Its energy is increasing... I've never seen someone in such denial."

[pirateninja]

"What do you mean I'm in denial? How is that pathetic thing me?" She was becoming a bit annoyed that Kyubey was getting on her case too.

And while this exchange occurred, the Shadow seemed to be sprouting a red beard with a nest of scorpions hiding in it. Back in her own world, there had been many conflicting tales of what the pirate hunter looked like but they all claimed Morgan LeFlay was a man.

[neverlied]

"You didn't listen at the exercise? It's supposed to be a manifestation of the half you hide and suppress like every other human. You're no different, but again, what human really is unique?"

He watched it grow, red eyes glinting at the amount of energy it gave off. If only this was his world and the magical girls could collect the energy for him. It might fulfill his quota.

[pirateninja]

"I heard. But I'm not that wimpy!"

And now the Shadow was getting to its feet, growing taller and looking much more like a fearsome pirate. The hand shifted, elongated until it was holding a sword. Uh, oh...

[neverlied]

"You're so out of touch with yourself if that's all you think it is, but that's okay. It's natural for creatures like you."

He continued watching the Shadow pirate grow with his red eyes amazed. If he could collect this energy, he would have his quota filled and then some!

[pirateninja]

The Shadow pirate attacked and Morgan brought her own blade up to block. With an extra foot in height, the scorpions, and the yellow eyes, it was quite an intimidating sight.

"Okay, so maybe it's not that wimpy anymore!"

But that wasn't going to be enough to scare her. She now took the opportunity to swing her own sword at the Shadow.

[neverlied]

"No. It's become an entity of its own."

Kyubey had come strong, but he could feel the Shadow's blade ringing against the soul-crafted sword. Weird, but it was still growing stronger. Even as large as it was, the Shadow avoided Morgan's attack.

[pirateninja]

She parried another blow from the Shadow's sword and drove it back with a kick before slashing at its torso. She's beaten some pretty tough pirates back home so this shouldn't be impossible.

"Drat. Why's it suddenly so strong!?"

[neverlied]

"Because you're not being honest."

He was curious how many swings and dodges it would take before Morgan accepted it was her. It would know her technique already. Oh well, as much as she kept her fed, she was a hopeless human.

[pirateninja]

"And you're not being very helpful!"

Another swing and another miss as the Shadow Pirate rolled out of the way, taunting her.

"I'm Morgan LeFlay, the loneliest pirate hunter in all the Carribean!"

[neverlied]

"I'm doing what's expected of me. Providing you a Weapon and support."

It wasn't his fault she was that way. Honestly, he didn't care. Her Shadow continued to become more fascinating by the second.

[pirateninja]

"This is your idea of support!?" She let out a frustrated sound, slashing for the piratey monstrosity again.

"No, I'm the loneliest pirate hunter in all the Seven Seas!"

And Morgan was losing her patience. "So what if I'm lonely!?" She struck again and finally hit this time, the Shadow seeming to shrink somewhat.

[neverlied]

"Yes." He was still here anyway.

The battle seemed to continue going on and the longer she held it in-- oh. Kyubey's ears rose when the Shadow shrunk slightly. "It lost some of its strength."

[pirateninja]

"Good." She didn't intend to be beaten by a poor copy of herself!

"Even if I'm lonely, that makes no difference in my skills as a pirate hunter!"

Another hit and another as the Shadow shrunk further, coming back down to Morgan's size.
