EVENT: Battle Against the Kishin Adachi
Characters: Anyone who signed up for Mission 254
Location: Matsue City, Japan
Rating: PG13
Time: September 11th
Description: It's time to bring down the Kishin Adachi, once and for all!
Matsue was once a lovely city and a nice place for tourists to visit.
It is now a ghost town.
Some lucky citizens had managed to escape the city before things got really bad, but they are the minority. Even fewer still are those who stayed and are still alive.
Most of them are dead, or worse, they had been driven mad by the Madness the Kishin Adachi exuded and killed their fellow citizens and consumed their souls, becoming Kishin Eggs. To make matters worse, sometimes when you're fighting you'll hear the distant rattling of chains and some primal part of your soul knows, something wicked this way comes.
And then there's all the Yellow Fog...
Only those who persevere will make it to their final destination: the Adachi Art Museum where Adachi is.
It will not be an easy fight, but in order to prevent the fate of this city from befalling on another, everyone will need to try.
((OOC: Please indicate in the subject: Character || OPEN/CLOSED. There will be a separate thread for encountering Adachi. Event information is here.))

"No mercy, no mercy. See, when you act like that things are completely fun. You're a good student."
He didn't waste the time waiting for a response. Instead, two tentacles made out of shadows lashed towards Kanji like whips intent on smacking him around.

But Kanji wasn't born yesterday, and that half-second of stupidity was dashed for suspicion. When he heard applause he whipped around and raised Naoto's Deathscythe form, ready for more. His teeth ground hard enough to sound in his head when the ex-detective emerged again, and he used far too much concentration to bite back that 'fuck you' that was at the tip of his tongue. He was being fucked with. He didn't need any further fuel. Naoto was right.
The whips were out and the first caught him by surprise, hit pain lashing up his frame, but he bit back the sound. He braced and took the next, some dark corner of his mind setting a stake and taking that pain in. He could be fueled, too, if he put his mind to it. It was somehow snapping him out of his reactive anger. This was a guy who punched himself in the face to think more clearly, after all.
"Naoto! Megidolaon!" Counter time it was, then!

Tendrils whipping at Kanji, he was becoming wise to it now. She felt his anger sink down again and his mind finally began to click properly. The clocks were turning, gears grinding together, and the steady tick resumed.
"We have to make sparing use of these abilities...!" But, she followed his command and synced her high output of energy with his. Swiftly, the usual happened. Her form glowed and wrapped around his arm, the bullets merging into a ball of supercharged energy. Kanji only needed to pull the trigger.

That was a spell he knew the name of. Of course, he didn't intend to let himself get hit by it. Which meant he had to be first to strike or else there would be problems. Adachi hastily raised his own pistol and fired off a bullet a little wildly, trying to be first.

Adachi moved and he had no time to react. Kanji heard a pop, felt something tear, and a burning pain work from his shoulder and down to his elbow. The shock of it moved his finger, firing that Megidolaon, but it was off by precious centimeters with lost concentration.

"Kanji!"
That's exactly what she hated about going up against Adachi with his gun. It was real; it didn't need a specific target to hit so long as it bled. Resuming her weapon form before, she was loaded again, ready to retaliate. They needed to disarm him; force him into close combat.

"You little...! You're dead. I was going to keep you as a trophy but not this time!"
no subject
"Tch-!" He wasn't sure if he liked that this guy was going easy on him. The gun returned to normal and he sent off suppressive fire, guarding the distance between them as he sought cover, and a moment to think. Adachi didn't need that gun, and Kanji wanted it gone. The whips he could deal with. No vest guarded you from a bullet in the head.
"It's gonna be a tight shot..." His plan flit through the link. Whether or not they'd need the crows for this was all up to her.
no subject
"... Alright." It would be a tight shot. She would have the crows in case.

Kanji decided to begin the pressure and not let up. Adding a punch of soul energy to the ammunition, pushing aside the pain and growing numbness in his injured opposing arm, he pressed on with unloading two shots from that clip his partner had prepared.
One shot he made for the ball. The other, the pistol.

Shots pulled, Naoto had to wait. Either they hit, or she released the trigger and had the crows attack.

As if taken by the madness he was emitting, he snarled and charged the duo, holding the black ball in his hand like a dripping, glopping baseball.

Adachi was rolling right up and a gun wasn't gonna cut it. Kanji flipped that trigger. Looks like they had to make this toe-to-toe. He raced forward to meet the Kishin in the middle, soul curling inward on itself and charging.
He worked better up close anyway!
"BRING IT ON!"
no subject
Trigger pulled, the Weapon folded out to the blade, black edge sharp and ready for the confrontation. Naoto's eyes remained focus, soul reaching out for readings, but not going that far. She still had to shield her Meister from outside factors.

"See how you bruisers like this!"
no subject
Kanji fought, seizing their connection as tightly as he could, and swung the blade with all of his might. If it looked like Black Blood and - ugh - smelled like Black Blood...!
He couldn't be made into a gibbering lunatic here!

And immediately she was in it, trying to cut through, but her mind was trying to flee her. Whispers and screams, the feeling of losing air and drowning, but she had to try pushing through.
