Rating: PG-13 for violence of the training sort
Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on August 5th.
Extra note: The clowns have not yet attacked, but the hummingbird keychains have glowing eyes!

It's not because of that.

[ Allen lifts his head and smiles at that actually. Not a sad sort of smile; just a smile, cocking his head to the side in an almost fond manner. His mind too; not even particularly private about that, since it's just a gentle sort of feeling he has about the matter.

Actually, it's a grateful sort of feeling, and he just focuses on the resonance for a moment. Like it's a quieting, gently important sort of thing. Because that sort of feeling; feeling comfortable to talk about the things he cares about openly and gently, even if not understood, without causing what it would usually cause...

...it's nice.

So it's absolutely a flare of familiar sort of fondness, Kaworu, even if you don't understand and even if Allen doesn't know why it's familiar. ]

At first, probably...

It can be hard for someone to become an Exorcist, so I think a lot of us become that because it's a way of making everything that's happened mean something. [ what Allen told Krory ] It's a way of continuing on even if we don't feel like it, or because we have promises to keep. [ 'Don't stop, keep walking.' ]

But I can see it, their souls. Because of this curse. And that's why they're important to me, because I can see how much they suffer because of what they've become. [ For a moment his attention (wavelength) leans for a moment, but whatever he might have started to think of, he remembers himself and stops.

Allen's eye could share what he saw with others, just how tortured that sort of soul is—what Lavi called seeing hell—but he never purposefully shared that. Why would he now; it's horrible. ]

Nobody else can see that part of an akuma, and nobody should have to exist in such pain.

So it's not for any great or important reason. I just don't want them to have to suffer like that.

[ Kaworu doesn’t speak, simply feeling for now. Allen’s hand, the resonance between the two of them, their wavelength, and how it felt. Allen’s mood, Allen’s words, as he spoke of his life and his feelings, his reason and his meaning.

To see akuma’s soul, cursed being that came to be due to sadness, and that became rage.

How incredibly… sad. ]

Isn’t it painful, to you? To see them like that and to make them important for that?

[ they have spoken of monsters before. If looking at them as if they have humanity isn’t difficult, to humanize your enemy would not make it hard to destroy it. In a way, the answer to Kaworu’s question just now, will be the same answer Allen gave then. Kaworu knows that.

Butkaworu still asks, because he hasn’t met anyone so willing to give himself for others like that. It’s not that lilin can’t be selfless, but they still hold themselves important, after all. And that is fine, because no one but a person is the only one who will know about themselves completely. No one else. But to hear someone speaking so gently of others is still so…

His smile flickers there. A little uncertainly maybe or like a bit of a mask coming up, because his mood and the connection flickers a little too, like being reluctant to be honest rather suddenly. Dismissive. ]

It doesn't change what they are at all, does it?

It's still important.

It may be important, but you still feel something about it, regardless. Either happiness, sadness or loneliness. [ kaworu smiles softly at the other ]

Though it's important, your feelings regarding the matter are, too.
