[Open] Hit the Slopes
Characters: Everyone!
Location: Mount Hood, Oregon
Rating: Varies
Time: July 28th - 29th
Description: Skiing! Hot chocolate! Snowball fights! Hiking! Folks of Death City say 'screw the heat' and decide to take a frosty vacation a few states away. COMMENCE MISCHIEF.
The discounted price came at a surprisingly good time. With the temperatures in Nevada climbing and no end in sight, it seems the owners of a Pacific Northwestern lodge took pity on the Meisters and Weapons of Shibusen and offered them a break from the heat. Despite it being July, the snow was still plentiful for skiing, snowboarding, sledding and innertubing! Dress warm, rent some gear or bring your own and have at it, they say!
From dawn to dusk, the mountain is lively on all sides, boarders and ski nuts to ski newbies enjoying a mid-week break while nature buffs take hikes over the trails on the greener side of the mountain, reachable by a short bus ride from the main lodge. Whether you're more into the powdery white or the vivid green, there's a spot for you to take a breather on Mount Hood.
The question is, where do you even start?
[I volunteered to put up the log for the Oregon trip, and here it is! Tag in to one, two, or all three of the areas noted and start your own open or closed threads within. Tag yourselves in (you guys know the drill), mingle, and enjoy!]

Heh, sure. You gotta try this place's hot chocolate, man. I've been all over the world, tryin' different foods n' drinks, and I think this place matches up with Germany.
[Unf, Germany. He had to go back there, if anything just to eat.]

Sounds good to me. Chocolate's my favorite. The coffee shop down the street from my shop back home made pretty good hot chocolate and I miss it.

But we always stop after the missions done, Naoto n' I, and grab a bite to eat. It's been pretty cool tryin' stuff from different places.
Stuff here's pretty cool, too. And the portions are HUGE! These big-ass burgers cost nothin', but they're like an arm and a leg in Japan 'cause we don't have room for cows or whatever, man.

[She smiled and opened the lodge door as he marveled about huge burgers. From bringing in her extra biscuits and muffins and the occasional leftovers to the shop, she'd learned that he did have quite an appetite!]
Have you gotten a chance to try much Cajun cooking yet? Maybe, I should cook dinner for y'all sometime.

[He slipped inside after her and felt the little shiver over his body as the warmth of the lodge hit him. Man, it was good to be in after the chill. But Lily was right on the money- she never really had leftovers once she brought something to the shop- after everyone else had a bite to eat, the tailor was there to clean up shop during a break.]
Cajun? ...S'that?

It's a type of Southern cuisine, mainly from Louisiana. My mama's family was originally from there and I have her recipes. I often cook them when I miss home. And the dishes tend to be spicy. Rice, seafood, and sausage are common ingredients.
