The discounted price came at a surprisingly good time. With the temperatures in Nevada climbing and no end in sight, it seems the owners of a Pacific Northwestern lodge took pity on the Meisters and Weapons of Shibusen and offered them a break from the heat. Despite it being July, the snow was still plentiful for skiing, snowboarding, sledding and innertubing! Dress warm, rent some gear or bring your own and have at it, they say!

From dawn to dusk, the mountain is lively on all sides, boarders and ski nuts to ski newbies enjoying a mid-week break while nature buffs take hikes over the trails on the greener side of the mountain, reachable by a short bus ride from the main lodge. Whether you're more into the powdery white or the vivid green, there's a spot for you to take a breather on Mount Hood.

Kanji is Kanji. While I take slight offense, he should attempt to make a better impression with you. Still, he has personal grievances with individuals in occupations like our own that make it difficult, sir.

[prosecutory]

Personal...grievances?

[Well, he wasn't expecting that. He sets his tea down a bit more abruptly than he normally would have.]

Yes. We'll leave it at that.

[Perhaps nothing on Edgeworth's level, but it did include doctors, police officers, detectives, etc.]

[prosecutory]

[Edgeworth decides not to press the issue.]

They may make it difficult, but not impossible.

[Look at him now, he no longer insults defense attorneys...much.]

No. And I hope you both do before drastic measures must be taken.

[Because you two may be doing this, but Naoto will finish it.]

[prosecutory]

I won't allow it to come to that, but I can't say the same for him.

[pishirogane]

He'll understand once I finish speaking to him.

I...wish you luck, then. If nothing else, at least he is an able Meister.

Yes. There's that for him.

How was the final battle, if I may?

[pishirogane]

It was a trial and could have gone better. For one thing, the Witch located herself in a populated area. We couldn't get the first strike in.

[prosecutory]

Not without placing others in danger, I imagine.

[pishirogane]

No. She took the opportunity though so we had to clear the area out.

[prosecutory]

[He takes a sip of his tea and sets aside the documents he has finished reading.]

She could have easily targeted you both while you cleared the area out.

[pishirogane]

She did.

[It was bad... and annoying.]

[prosecutory]

How did you counter her attack?

[Why no, of course he's not gathering info on how you rolled with your witch attack. What'chu talkin' 'bout, Willis?]

We fired back upon her spells. Of course, we couldn't hit all her attacks before one or two reached Kanji.

[prosecutory]

But he still managed to continue the battle, correct?

[pishirogane]

Of course. Still, he couldn't continue being hit. Her power was great enough that those attacks would have brought him down in a few more hits. Deflecting a few more shots and firing back, we moved in to confront her directly. She tried drowning us in Madness as a result.

[prosecutory]

...What happened then?

[He tenses at the mention of Madness. That would be bad if Genesis would fight with the Black Blood still coursing through his veins. But of course he got worried for Naoto. And Kanji to a lesser extent, but still.]

[pishirogane]

She continued her attacks and nearly took us down. He was seeing Izanami and I saw her for a moment too... but then I saw him. I saw him mocking us and couldn't stand dying like this knowing he would live. I could see her through the Madness and forced Kanji to pull the trigger and cut her off. We ended up pushing through and destroying her with a resonance attack.

[prosecutory]

[He nods.]

Izanami?

[pishirogane]

That's... a long story, but yes, we had to confront Izanami-no-Okami in our world.
