[Open] Hit the Slopes
Characters: Everyone!
Location: Mount Hood, Oregon
Rating: Varies
Time: July 28th - 29th
Description: Skiing! Hot chocolate! Snowball fights! Hiking! Folks of Death City say 'screw the heat' and decide to take a frosty vacation a few states away. COMMENCE MISCHIEF.
The discounted price came at a surprisingly good time. With the temperatures in Nevada climbing and no end in sight, it seems the owners of a Pacific Northwestern lodge took pity on the Meisters and Weapons of Shibusen and offered them a break from the heat. Despite it being July, the snow was still plentiful for skiing, snowboarding, sledding and innertubing! Dress warm, rent some gear or bring your own and have at it, they say!
From dawn to dusk, the mountain is lively on all sides, boarders and ski nuts to ski newbies enjoying a mid-week break while nature buffs take hikes over the trails on the greener side of the mountain, reachable by a short bus ride from the main lodge. Whether you're more into the powdery white or the vivid green, there's a spot for you to take a breather on Mount Hood.
The question is, where do you even start?
[I volunteered to put up the log for the Oregon trip, and here it is! Tag in to one, two, or all three of the areas noted and start your own open or closed threads within. Tag yourselves in (you guys know the drill), mingle, and enjoy!]

Sorry, going too fast, so hold on.
[He only adjusts his hold and picks up speed.]
no subject
If you drop me, you are so dead!
no subject
If I drop you at this speed, don't you think I'd make sure to kill you first so I have a chance to get away?
[Oh yeah, that jump... it's happening right now. Cloud clears it and lands rather successfully. They're going much faster now.]
no subject
You can't run fast enough from Sion!
[And then suddenly they were in the air and Akiha actually shrieks a little before burying her face in Cloud's neck. She didn't want to see the ground hit just before breaking all the bones in her body. The one time she wished she still had her demon blood. She's been pushed off a tall building before and only suffered a few scrapes and bruises.]
no subject
I'll just hit the slopes again and see how she fares the same way!
[Okay, the shriek does actually make the whole thing worth it, he admits. He settles and dares to shift her in his arms so he's got her bridal style. He continues down the hill only getting faster and doesn't even bother to slow for the next jump. He just takes it at break neck speed.]
You're allowed to have fun, Akiha! Aren't you having fun yet? Or are you wondering how Sephiroth puts up with me?
[They fly for longer this time, but he again lands like he's been doing this all day. Of course, that fast means they are at the bottom of the hill and he has to slow and stop.]
no subject
And yes, he gets another shriek, though this one is more muffled.]
I'm imagining the many ways to hurt you, you lunatic!
[She doesn't even notice they've come to a stop as her eyes are clenched shut and she's still holding on.]
no subject
Lunatic? That's not very nice when I'm showing you the ropes to skiing!
[He waits for her to notice they've come to a stop but when she just holds on he clears his throat.]
You know, for a taken woman, you're holding onto me pretty tight while we're in the stop position. Oh, I know, you want to go again, yes?
no subject
And then the question registers.]
No, I do not! Now, put. Me. Down.
[And that hand that's been pounding him on the chest? When it hits again, this time it has the sting of claws slicing at the soul as hit him with Soul Menace.]
no subject
You have a good shrieking voice, Akiha. Want to at least take the chairlift back to the top with me?
[He rubs his arm like that's the part she's wounded in her previous strike.]
no subject
Don't you go touching that. And I have no idea what you're talking about.
[SHE WILL DENY THE SHRIEKING.]
How do I know you're not going to try something so absurd again?
no subject
I didn't touch it; I shocked it.
[He smirks and bends down to unhook one foot from the binding of his snowboard.]
I won't, I promise. I'll be good in the chairlift. [He's got to go looking for Sion after all.]
no subject
[Akiha considers, arms crossed as best as she can with her poles, before huffing.]
Fine. But if you aren't, I'm going to push you off it.
no subject
[He smirks and pushes himself along with a foot against the snow, amused by the idea of her pushing him off. She must think he plans on staying all the way up.]
You're such a great friend.
no subject
[Said flatly as she shuffles after him. One more run and she'd be done. She was shivering.]
no subject
[He keeps slow so that she can keep up with him.]
no subject
no subject
Oh really? We'll see about that.
[Challenge accepted.]
no subject
Don't pick me up like that again. That wasn't fun, Cloud.
