Time: 6am to 9am
Description: Training takes place every morning in the park to prepare the guests of the city for the ongoing war. It's handwaved most days, but approximately once a month this gets played out in a log. This log takes place on July 26th.

[Oh, please, Edgeworth is not always THAT calm. He grips the saber hilt with one hand and sighs in frustration.]

Genesis and I failed a mission; clearly there is still much I have to learn. [Note that he said "I" and not "we".]

For their sake, it better be medical advice they're seeking.

Well, the war on the witches is not like any war I have been a part of, honestly. And there was quite a big one going on back home.

Certainly. I see your weapon of choice is... [he glances down] a sword. I hope you would not mind taking on someone using a knife?

[A kunai, to be precise, and Lee retrieves is very swiftly from a pocket in on his vest.]

[She looks at him without a trace of embarrassment.]

No, I won't; not when it's something this important.

[She looks around and actually manages to spot some shade nearby and points, giving him a small smile.]

Since I win, how about over there? Someone can come get you if you're needed.

[recitings]

Very well, then.

[He'll follow where she's pointing him to. What can he say? He definitely couldn't fight back anymore. She's a terribly stubborn girl.]

Fine. It'll be more entertaining at least than fighting the invisible swordsman.

[She raises her sword, taking up a stance.]

Engarde!

[He's a lot calmer than she is, so the comment still stands.

When he explains, she gives him a look of understanding.]

Miles... Failing a mission doesn't mean you haven't learned anything. Those things happen, and it's not anyone's fault.

[She steps closer and peers to meet his gaze.]

It just happens.

[Lee grins, happy to try out his skills. He hadn't gotten to really practice knife fighting since Tenten was returned home... Pulling away from those sad thoughts, Lee took her cry as the start for the battle.

Moving in close, Lee was swift to use his kunai on the offensive. It was actually more of a defensive weapon in Lee's case, or generally he would use is as a distraction, but he could still attack with one when the time called for it.

His grip was firm and steady, but he remained light on his feet. He didn't want to get nicked for his clumsiness, doing his best to pull back if he felt her sword was coming a little too close for comfort.]


((ooc: I'm expecting that Morgan will take the lead and win since Lee is not a blade specialist like she is~ But feel free to draw out the fight however long you want; I'm cool with glazing over things or being detailed in attacks.))

[She's more stubborn than he thinks. It's a trait that's gotten her into--and out of--a lot of situations in her lifetime.

She makes sure he's heading in the right direction before speaking again.]

If you felt so bad this morning, why didn't you have someone else come in a train for you?

That's simply because I was stubborn. Just like you are.

[His gray eyes are unbreakable steel.]

I never said I didn't learn anything. I said, "there is still much I have to learn". Perhaps I became too overconfident. [Once again, it's clear he isn't heaping any of this onto Genesis.]

[She crosses her arms and gives him a pointed look.]

That may be true, but I also know when being stubborn isn't helping anyone--including me.

[Which is a new thing for her, so she's still getting used to it.]

[And her brown ones are the same.]

Maybe I misunderstood, but my comment still stands. You could learn every technique for every weapon in the world, but these things happen, and it's not anyone's fault. [And clearly, she's not blaming him, either.]

[Her expression changes slightly.]

You've been on a lot of missions, right?

[He holds his forehead in his hands. If only it would be so easy to say it was no one's fault. But he never attributed anything to chance, or fate. Edgeworth never believed in those things. He was not the type to believe in luck either.

And despite freeing himself from the von Karma creed, he still had moments of perfectionism. Not to mention that in battle, the slightest mistake could cost you your life. That was why Edgeworth took this sort of thing way more seriously.]

[Edgeworth has an inkling of what she's driving at. Hadn't he and Genesis succeeded at more missions? With flying colors, even? A part of him was already nudging him about that.]
